They will get taller if you don’t twist the cutter. When you twist the cutter you seal the edges so it doesn’t rise as high. I’m an amazing biscuit maker after years of perfecting my method and not twisting the cutter is really important!

Can't wait to try these. I love all of your sourdough recipes. Request: Can you do a video or blog about what you do for your childrens' birthday cakes? I imagine it's healthier than the cakes that I pick up at the supermarket. Would love to see what you do for your family.

We ferment our muffin batters in the fridge for at least 3 days before baking. I imagine one could do the same with cake batter.

In the video you don't add milk but it is in the written recipe. I must be the only one who had this problem but when I added the milk it because a sticky soupy mess. Is the milk supposed to go in with the starter? I love you recipes, btw!

@@mcgarvsminihomestead7684 So, the milk eventually soaked in pretty well. I had to use a little more flour to pat them out to cut but they baked really well and were fluffy and tasty.

Okay. I was really skeptical of this recipe. I've been making traditional biscuits and sourdough bread for years so combining the two just didn't compute in my brain. Tried the recipe yesterday and I will NEVER go back to traditional biscuits! These are amazing!

I wondered how to change up a recipe and use my starter. So do you cut half the flour out and add half sourdough starter? If it asks for two cups of flour would you use one cup of flour and one cup starter? I was just thinking today what I could make with my starter because it’s fed and I’d like to use it. This would be so yummy tomorrow with eggs and sausage.

Question, please. If I am doing the long-ferment at room temperature is it still necessary to use cold butter in the initial combining of ingredients? The butter will come to room temperature. OR is it that in the initial combining butter to the flour mixture, colder reacts different?

Do you feed all the starter in the beginning and let all of it sit out or feed all of it and just leave what you are using in the recipe sitting out? Or feed the cup you are using and let it set out. Hope this makes sense.

    • @leslieinadress

Wouldn't it be just as easy to soak ones grains & drying them before grinding to make flour? The reason people have become intolerant to wheat is because they no longer remove the outer casing before grinding for the store bought flour or breads...…...Seems as tho it was cutting dwn their profits....
