You can also use that sour dough as a breading for something like Chicken Nuggets, or Fish and it makes the best Corn Fritters and Hush Puppies I've ever had. Just saying.
I am thinking there is no recipe…you just dip the chicken in the runny batter. It should work great. I have done this with a pancake mix that you just make a little runny and it works great. I will try this with fried pickles and let you all know how it turns out with the sourdough discard.

The best use for discard is "sourdough spice". I freeze dry it and subsequently grind it into a powder in my food processor. It's very brittle and turns to a powder in a couple of seconds. Now you have a way to impart the same sourdough character and you don't even need to use a sourdough starter!

This video just moved in to my top 5 or 6 of collaboration! I do okay when I have discard once a week (I am keeping my starter in the frig) but now I can do the daily feed and have recipes for using the discard. Wow you jam packed alot of goodness into this video! I want to try them all. I have made the discard pizza before. It was great! And the crackers. Thank you! I still need to learn more about sourdough starter and the discard, but knowing that you can make things from the discard is very helpful (as a little exciting).
Will definitely be trying some of these discard recipes. I've had my sourdough going for over 3 weeks now! I still cannot believe it started from my old sourdough back in March 2021! I had dehydrated some and just stuck it in the freezer. Now it's bubbly, delicious and able to make all the things.
