Last week I got into a street fight with a guy who said he was a black belt in Ameri-do-te and that Master Ken was his teacher.
We got to fighting and at first I had him going.. really putting those knuckles on him.. lefts, rights, hooks, uppercuts.. but then from out of nowhere he landed a perfectly placed front kick that connected perfectly.. right to my groin..
I went down like a bag of bricks.. and while down on the ground.. he re-stomped my groin.. twice - fight over.. I was done.. finished.. game over.
I lost the fight.. he was the better man.. and his high level Ameri-do-te techniques were simply incredible!

3:18 I'd say, training at a soft surface is benefical to Ameridote, 'cause pure concrete wears off pretty fast in a serious fight. Punching, kicking and restomping someone at the ground tends to lower the floor at a pretty fast rate with every hardcore session. So, you wanna have some sort of soft, flexible, easy-to-replace ground to train on? Otherwise you're ending up rather fast in a pit fight instead of training plain street techniques, don't you? 💪

I know this is comedy, but there's actually a little truth to trying certain techniques on hard surfaces. If you are surprised for the first time in a real fight be how your takedown hurts you on a hard floor, it can be bad. Not to meantion it can really help you find minor imperfections in your falls, rolls, etc. I'm not saying you do your practice there, but it's worth just occasionally experiencing in a safe and controlled way as you get more advanced.

SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE TEACHES IS SPORT AND HER DOJO AND BUSINESS IS FOR SPORT WHICH IS PROFIT AND ABIDING BY STATE AND LOCAL LAWS. WHY I KNOW? MY LATE INSTRUCTOR AND HIS FRIENDS THE ENGINEER BROTHERS “DOGG BROTHERS” JKD/KALI MASTERS teach and train for street that is ILLEGAL in ANY STATE and they are in California. The real combat instructors DO NOT TEACH in public cause their training would VIOLATE STATE and Local laws they may reside irregardless of state. The Navy Seals and Army special forces also go overseas to learn other arts for their requirements. Marines and special ops in the USA go to the Philippines were I was born to learn Eskrima/ Kali. Ground fighting is the LAST range in all FOUR combat ranges. Anyone who relies on GROUND FIGHTING such as jiu jitsu or wrestling will get KILLED in combat. It is a necessary RANGE only when you end up in the ground with little or no options left. Manny SPORT MMA are idiots thinking that real fighting is mostly ground. That is complete opposite in actual combat. Vietnam vets are the last US MILITARY to face hand to hand combat. They can tell you, knife training is far more important than wrestling or ground fighting even thougn those ranges are a must but not the MAIN range in combat. Stand up grappling from knife fighting in Eskrima is far more important. In Chinese it would be CHIN NA where Filipino grappling came from
