I can't say how exciting it was for me to watch this video Cliff, and relive that day. Wow, what an adventure. When I got home and did still more research I came to the realization that the Balds on Bartlett Mountain are the only known example of a Red Spruce Rocky Summit plant community in the entire state. What we saw and documented is truly, by the definition of the word, "unique". Some places have that "special" vibe, and this one has it in spades. Even when we first reached "Zeller Bald" we could tell things were going to be different up there. This expedition was one for the books, certainly one I will never forget. Most folks may not realize or appreciate the significance of this landscape, but for those of us who crave adventure and discovering those rare special places, this is what it's all about. We have now documented for the record one of Pennsylvania's rarest ecosystems, a tiny island of unique diversity in Penn's Woods. It was truly an honor and a pleasure brother to share this experience with you, we have forged a bond of trust that is required when navigating these off grid locations, and I eagerly await the next adventure!!!

Very cool double Z adventure. Zeller/Zolna. You had me hyperventilating in that last crevice.
Stay safe. Thanks for showing g us this cool environment 👍
Hopefully more double Z adventures in the future.
Only thing better would be a double Z and DHD adventure 😊😅

A true 18th cen. hike thru the wilderness no trails and no signage. Many a frontiersman in Pa. had the same experience you just had

What a neat hike! Exploring off trail is fun but I always worry I’ll get lost.😊 Those rocky, mossy bald areas are very cool. It was fun exploring with you and Walter.

I’ve seen a few small areas of PA, always rock cities, that have a bit of alpine feel, but never one like this or one this large in area, really surprising to learn this area. Given how unique it is to PA, I’m surprised it is not known or publicized more, but maybe that is good. That part of PA, north-central, or now labelled PA Wilds, is among my favorite outdoors destinations, just something very appealing and unique about it, and I am well-travelled (coincidentally even to the Alps themselves).

Quire a trek. Those crevices are a real bad idea in a solo situation. Snake looking right.

That moss was neat. Ive only seen green. You need to get some rain gear. Half bald men are sexy, but if youd want to try getting hair back try Collagen gummies. They work. Im proof. That snake was huge! The cotton grass area was cool. You had me holding my breath a couple of times in those narrow places. You are awesome ! Hope you didn't get sick from being wet. Be safe.❤❤❤❤❤

😂😂 virtually all the trees would be side bound. Logging likely wacked off the branches on the side. You're funny. So glad I left Lanc for Sedona, Olymp Pen, and living Northern Colorado now. Get outta PA. It's wonderful.

Calm down Deborah. The balds of Bartlett Mountain are verified as the only known location in Pennsylvania featuring a Red Spruce Rocky Summit plant community. May not mean anything to you but it means that particular location is unique within the entire state. Congratulations on making it out of PA, good for you...

Cliff, you really need to stop wearing cotton on trips like this.Invest in some synthetic pants and tops,Hypothermia can happen in the 50’s and low 60’s.cool vid and beautiful area tho…
