@@knowledgeman86 andre was also a backpack rapper before there was those, he was a pop rapper, gangsta rapper, feel good rapper, concious rapper, whatever rapper he feeled like to be which is part of his genius. Dude did everything so early in the game and that's why many talented young artist who aspire to make their hip hop truly an art look so much up to Andre because he was ahead of his time. Also because he did fashion wise stuff that was at the time really bold and innovative but these days something to take notes from like Tyler The Creator for example. Some people don't truly understand how much Outkast did for hip hop, it ain't just that Andre is easily one of the best lyricists ever and many times even overlooked with that. Most of the time it's those cats who see rap only as gun, hustle, drug, street bars (or atleast only get off on those) who outright might not even respect the mans contribution to the game since they see some of it as negative how innovative he can be since some of it might be too much for them (weard pink clothes in stage) so they shut the whole dude out immidiatelly as a clown or something (and propably don't even neccesarily know enough about Outkast or just don't want to awknowledge them). I wouldn't say they/him are underrated neccesarily since they are loved as legends but there is some weard unwarranted hate also out there. Very spesific weard hate.

Kinda wild personalities and fashion sense, and both of them were kinda trailbazers in that way for other artists to come after them. Probably overshadowed in the mainstream by 'bigger' artists (Andre isn't as widely recognised as guys like Eminem or Jay-Z ,similar to how Michael Jackson was far more commercially successful than Prince), but incredibly skillful and versatile all-round singers/musicians/producers.

Andre seems pretty introverted and so down to earth even tho he used to be crazy flashy in his art from what he wore/wears in gigs and music videos aswell as being easily one of the best lyricists ever which is something to flaunt on but he is so humble. I think it was the interview with Rick Rubin where he said that he really had to learn how to performe since he knew how to rap but performing didn't come to him as naturally first (not to say he didn't bust his ass off to become such a good artist. Like he also said he can hear how in Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik he cannot yet pronounce some words clear enough while rapping and became better by time by doing it constantly. But still you can obviously tell even from that record how seriously talented the man was at the craft from the get go).

To me 3 Stacks isn't just the GOAT as far as rap goes, but also one of the greatest musicians that ever lived. I mean, he can play all those instruments, he can sing his ass off, he can produce, he can CONSTRUCT great songs and albums and he's one of the best lyricists of all time. He really cares about his body of work and that's why he doesn't put anything out unless he feels like it. The way he's influenced the new generation of hip-hop and R&B artists is evident, and even an OG like Scarface giving him props like that tells you everything.
P.S.: Watching the part with Mac Miller made me really sad as I've realized how dope of a collab that would've been. I could really hear André on some Circles-type production. Shame this won't ever happen.
Hearing Andre and Cee Lo is something everyone should experience, The Dungeon Family is something none of us deserved but everyone enjoyed 🔥

3K and Nas are two of my top 3 rappers ever (Earl Sweatshirt is 3rd), but 3K and Nas wouldn’t work together in any group. It’s two completely different styles, especially lyrically. Nas is the greatest ever at immersing the listener in a place. Nas has the best eye for details that bring a place to life in the listener’s mind. 3K does that some with Atlanta, but from a wildly different style. Nas’s grittiness doesn’t match 3K’s otherworldliness imo.
