Snoop career record sales is 34 million sold worldwide with his last record to go platinum 18 years ago ... "eminiem isn't in the top 10" - snoop. now Eminem career record sales is 220million world wide and every record from 99-2020 has gone platinum.
Snoop is an absolute CLOWN for this! There are a ton of great rappers - Snoop barely scratches the top 50, arguably. Tupac is my favorite rapper of all time, but he's not even in my top 5 if I'm taking all aspects of hip-hop into account; adaptability, articulation, cadence, impact/influence, longevity, sales, word play, etc. Honesty, I grew up during Em's prime and didn't like his music at all. I felt like it was just goofy. However, he's only getting better with age. Of course, that's my personal opinion, but it shows that he's able to adapt and grow. Ever since Kamikaze dropped, he's consistently held my attention.
Yes snoop is alright rapper but it’s nobody where Eminem left because he white he don’t get no credit at all
Remember "Snoop Lion"?
Popularity isn’t everything and I got no problem with Snoop having a different top 10 list. Personally, I like different performers for different reasons and don’t really rate them like that.
In conclusion, Em is simply the GOAT
Em is literally a modern-day Shakespeare. Only difference between a poem and a song is the music. This man is arguably the greatest lyricist of the past century, a man who not only writes lyrics with double, triple, quadruple entendre, but even when he talks you can hear him speaking with a certain rhythm, like a natural iambic pentameter. It's instinctive to him, like he's got a metronome stuck in his brain. He can spit bars in a moment's notice, no planning, no warning. The moment you challenge him to a rap battle, Em's neurons are firing at the speed of light to ruin you with just two lines.
I was thinking about posting a literary reference too, though was gonna say John Milton, or some Irish ones.
I love this description!
I think the reason I love hip hop so much is because I love poetry. I love the flow of words, but the reason I love rappers like Chuck D and 2Pac so much is that they can take such simple words and string them together in such a deep and meaningful way. They can turn it into an essay on modern society and it hits so hard. Eminem is so clever and funny, just totally outside the box. I don't know how I would get thru life without music - esp Prince!!
i could easily say the same about krayzie bone... while i can admit eminem has abetter pen game in total... its krayzie bone who excels in every other thinkable category of skill you can bring to artistry. couldnt even exaggerate. his hands/fingers sometimes look like they're trapped in unnatural positions, even when he is relaxed, due to all the gesturizing you tend to do when rapping. these people spend every wakin moment on their craft that their physically and mentally wired by it.
Black thought is way better than EM as a lyricists
snoop was so high he thought they were talking about m&m's the candy

Snoop's statement is exactly what 50 cent is talking about when he says "hip-hop is black music and that is why there are some black people that cannot aknowledge that there is a white dude that plays the game better than black rappers". He hates that statement because is true and throws hate at Eminem for it.
It's not hate. The symbol of black solidarity that is hip hop cannot stand on the shoulders of a white man's success. Of course the black struggle intersects with class struggle, and that was most likely Eminem's point of entry, BUT he's now essentially a rich white man -- his history allows him to understand parts of our culture especially through hiphop, but no part of him today represents the core of hiphop.
As an artist, i consider him the best lyricist ever.
@@Officialencode I am sorry but your reply to this comment is pure ignorance. Nobody EVER have said that Eminem represents black people or their struggle better than black peopke themselfs. Snoop killed Tupac because Tupac was bigger than him in the rap game and making more money than him in the rap game back in the 90s.. FUCK SNOOP!!
@@Brez357 damn, calm down man!

Em has a lot of respect for hip hop. He even paid respect to Rakim, I believe. When Em made "without me" the first lines before going into the first verse, 'guess who's back' repeat like 6-7 times, Rakim's title song from '97 'guess who's back'. I just noticed that a few days ago. One of the best writers of our generation.
He also gave respect to Rakim in his song “‘Till I Collapse” he raps
“I got a list, here’s the order of my list that it’s in
It goes: Reggie, Jay-Z, 2pac and Biggie
André from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me”
Redman’s real name is Reginald which is shortened to Reggie.

He does not hold back or sugar coat things, he tells them straight up. Plus, you can hear his pain, he doesn't just say things to say them. People can say whatever they want about Eminem, but to question or doubt his skill or his authenticity in the hip hop culture is blasphemous. The man has worked so hard and made sure to take off his shoes the moment he walked into the house of rap, for anyone to talk down on him is disrespectful.
A lot of rappers of the black community respect Eminem he came to hip hop, he switched it up especially the humour in some of his songs.. But he never ever disrespected hip hop he gave more to the hip hop industry than alot of rappers I could mention. It's so sad that there are ppl that can't see past the colour of skin. Music is like love, it doesn't see color. It's for everyone. It enriches all our lives.
Eminem already called the disrespect from Snoop and Charlemagne a long time ago: “But in this industry I'm the cause of a lot of envy, so when I'm not put on this list the shit does not offend me, that’s why you see me walk around like nothing's bothering me”.
even though half you people got a fuckin problem with me! You hate it, but you know respect you got to give me!
But Snoop Dogg was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I already know Charlemagne is a hater but what was going on with snoop? He was trippin, angry at Eminem just for existing. Not to mention most of the lyricist he mentioned have nothing on Em
@@extonjonas6820 I mean…Charlemagne is proving himself time and again as pretty closet racist. Whenever it comes to white people in general, he got some sly remarks.
I don't think what Snoop said was necessarily out of hate. I just think he recognizes the old heads in the 80s like Ice Cube and Rakim and doesn't put Em in his top 10. I disagree heavy but I can see where Snoop coming from.
The one thing ppl gotta understand about EM, is the fact, he respects every rapper that came b4 him. He gives them the highest regard and that makes me respect him more. He does it 4 the culture of rap, not the skin color, not the fame but the culture. If you listen to EM interviews, that man has changed his top 5 plenty of times, meaning to him, all the rappers influenced him in some way. He gives credit to all of them. I salute him 4 that. Just dont come at him, cause he will fire back.
This, I feel like is the number one thing haters forget, you are so right. dont think Em got insulted by Snoop's list or anyone else saying he can never touch certain OG's cause he will give credit to everyone on Snoop's list and everyone that had a big influence in the game or the right skills. But damn if he doesn't demand the same thing for himself. And rightfully so, cause he has had the influence and he has the right skills. Respect the man for respecting the game.
Exactly! He respects music so much, he is one of the greats that actually don't even charge other artists for features. He will feature on a song based on how much he respects you, not for money which is kind of showing what he does this for...
He got bodied by ICP several times 🤣😂
He doesn't respect Will Smith/Fresh Prince who is the first rapper to win a Grammy....
@@nonizulu4642 he's not one of the greats
Listening to Reggie and 50 talk about rap never gets old
I have noticed in multiple interviews that Em doesn’t speak just to speak. He thinks about and chooses his words very carefully.
Snoop has never been mentioned in anyone’s top list lol I’ve never heard anyone say snoop was the reason they started rapping either.
Actually snoop had a big influence on kendrick, but snoop is trash
@@shantanushrikhande2427 not correct , back in early 90s Snoop was big influence on black kids in UK and and USA, Eminem is the better lyricist but Snoop is a different type of rapper ,Snoop is Gangster rapper and in that field he is one of the best.
Problem is most Eminem fans are they not into rap music and do not know about rap before Eminem

Real recognize real. That being said for me I bumped Em's old tracks in the car just mind being blown because I've never heard anything like that.
It’s sad that Em doesn’t get the due respect, simply because he is white. If he was black and had the same skill set people would most definitely pay him respect. He literally is my favorite lyricist. That’s my opinion and no one can change it!
Agree bro. EM is GOAT.
The problem is too many white people automatically say he's the greatest with a very limited amount of references.
If he was black nobody would actually listen to him like that
@@jaylxxxi1908 yes he is great lyrically but you know why nobody was listenin to him because he was not relatable to them one a lot of the hood and black community usually like a hood beat most of his was wack idc if Dre produced them and the shit he was rapping about killing his girl and his momma you know that’s a no go and having 3 separate personalities talkin about the same thing is what gets it so if he was black he wouldn’t be who he is today
Literally everyone except snoop dog said he was the greatest lol
I am black and i love Snoop, Dr Dre and all the old school but for me Eminem is GOAT period sorry brothers but the dude is just on another planet.
Color ain't has nothing to do dawg. Being white or black or whatever doesn't mean you'll always say people of your color are the best when you don't mean it. I'm white, but my favourite basketball player is black, same as my favourite celebrity and my favourite guitarist, my favourite footballer is white, rapper and singer too. Some of my favourite cultures (except my own) are from black people. Color is just another characteristic that the "big minds" use to divide us and petty us against each other, you know what I'm saying?

Another rapper I feel is criminally underrated is xzibit.

The day when artists unanimously can judge due a person's music talent based purely on talent and not colour across on genres of music, is the day music achieves its goal 100%.
It is so weird the hate on Snoop for not putting Em in his personal top 10 like he somehow not in his top 25. People got to remember that people favor the artists they grow up with. Eminem came into the rap game after Snoop and didnt get into being Em until 6 years after Snoops first album. To him he grew up with Kurtis Blow, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Boogie Down Productions, Eric B and Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick.
The greatest gift Eminem gave is he finally broke the color barrier once and for all and brought us all together. And it wasn't just about him. He knew it was bigger than himself. Much love and harmony to my brothers from other mothers and from other colors. Peace.
I love how today, rap is international. You have Reggaeton, Indonesia, Africa, India, just this music came from Queens to the world. And Eminem really made it cool for your average white kid to listen to rap. Music has no skin color
You're so right. People talk about all of this r@cism now but when I was growing up there were NO black rock bands until Sevendust, one of my all-time favorite metal bands. Then more cam along. Funny there's no discussion about black people coming into heavy music. They're embraced and we love them. I see far more younger people with best friends from different races than I ever did as a kid. This whole thing is utter bullsh!t from my generation. Another way to divide us. Em broke a barrier. He showed that an underdog that wants something bad enough can achieve it. So sad some of his counterparts have such an issue with his skin color.
I love what you said❤ beautiful
love you too

Eminem is not just a lyricist, He is THE rapper. Anyone who won’t admit that is just afraid of becoming irrelevant because they can’t even get into a category to compete with Eminem.
Stop it man. Em is a legend, I love Eminem, he’s one of the illest ever but real HipHop heads know there are hundreds of other Super duper dope emcees as well!
@Xavier X I’m old enough to have lived through most of the era’s and primes of the artists in your list. Your list sucks. Eminem is top 5 at a minimum. Biggie isn’t in your top 10? I can respect the impact of the forefathers of the art but you give no credit to the people who’s talent changed the game.
@Xavier X The artists who were better writers, had smoother delivery and made better music rank higher on my list. It is literally that simple. No need to examine HZ and emotional response to pop music. I'm not a 14 year old girl listening to Justin Bieber for the first time. I also never said Biggie or Eminem were my favorite rappers. I just said they are better than the people ranked above them on your list. Which 95% of hip hop listeners would agree is accurate
Eminem is sick but Busta Rhymes is the actually undefeated rapper😁
