I have a theory, but I think that's Talos the Skrull, while the real Fury is still in comma. the fury out part seems out of character despite a different timeline.
7:47 Calvin: “I love What if because characters normally play it deadpan serious, they can just do whatever” I was 100% on this line of thought and it allowed me to enjoy the insanity of this episode.
One of the weirdest stories ever told in the MCU and it's also one of its most wholesome. Absolutely loved it! It helps that Darcy is one of my favorite side characters.
@@musamontu It was the equivalent of the Gamora episode if it was in the 1st season. We get into this problem with the MCU as a whole. When something is made to specifically be explain later, but feels random, people don't really like it in the moment.
It is exactly what it should be. But they still need to make sure what they’re doing is cool and exciting to entertain the audience. This missed the mark big time. At least for me. Why would I give af about Howard the Duck and his egg. This was a snooze fest. Where’s Sorcerer Hulk at
Not really though. What If really should be, y'know..."What If". Take scenarios that actually happened and twist them to ask "what if X happened instead of Y". If you just take "what if" and then add whatever the hell you want afterwards it becomes uninteresting. Howard the Duck was a one-off joke in the Guardians movie(s?) that most people probably don't remember, let alone have any context for. No one is asking the question "What if Howard the Duck fucks".
Watching Eric trying to figure out in his head the logistics of birthing an egg... lol. I needed that. I could literally see the Hangover meme with the Rain Man numbers bit going on behind him.
I think this was my favorite episode from the new season, and I liked all the eps this season pretty well. Seth Green and Kat Dennings’ chemistry and line reads elevated this from “good” to “incredible,” for me.
I actually like how this episode answers the question we never really asked; What happened to Howard the Duck and Darcy after the Party Thor episode? Ngl, this was really fun. Seth Green and Kat Dennings did make these two characters feel like an unexpected wacky and fun duo.
I'm still baffled at how good this episode is. It's insane but it works because they go for it SO much. With all the different factions showing up, but being way over the top, leaning into the comedy of it all. Which even works in universe because this is a galaxy connected by party Thor. Still like stormgiant Loki a lot. And in all of it, the emotional core of family and parenting hits the mark :D
I agree with you, this is one of the best episodes mainly because it just runs with one of the stupid throw away jokes from a past episode and that’s hilarious!
This one was fun! Their relationship is so cute and wholesome (not sure why people think it’s weird when Howard is anthropomorphic) and all the cameos and “FURY OUT!” was great!
Not everyone, there are literally comments praising it, tbh, this is not the worst episode of the show, people for some reason watch this show when it’s clearly not for anyone besides toddlers, but whatever
Not really. Their relationship is cute and wholesome and people are making it weird for no reason! He's an anthropomorphic adult, not an actual animal, just like Rocket😂
@Mrs.Garrison69 The worst What If...? episode for me has to be the Happy Hulk episode, because I feel it is irrelevant and pointless in every sense. It's just a typical mediocre Christmas movie. In episodes like this, its quirkiness alone makes it memorable, but it also has bold repercussions and character dynamics.
@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 please stop it, we went from the avengers dying, dr strange destroying his universe, zombie avengers, ultron destroying the entire universe, peggie being captain carter to a duck clapping a human being.
My 21:00 my head cannon is that it's not just that being under the convergence but we did see Dormamu's power START transfering to the egg and interrupted, so maybe that power is residual power and the duck/human hybrid was able to endure that power (similar to the ancient one using dormamu power), i think it's one of those cases where The Prophecy was met BECAUSE people believed it to be a prophecy. Had they not done that, maybe Byrdie would have been just a duck/human hybrid and not that powerful, but they got the egg to consume dormamu's power.
I don't really understand the hatred for this episode, it's absolutely hilarious, the fact that they spent a full episode on this concept, brought in this many characters for a story as dumb as this one, made a character with an origin as stupid as being the child of darcy and Howard the messiah and to top it all off, this was the episode they aired on Christmas day Does no one else understand this is a self parody, it's meant to be stupid and baffling as an episode, it's very existence is a punchline
Can I just say that when they “accept” defeat and all of the marvel villains are chasing them? That’s the coldest shot in the whole mcu! They’ll never top every villain running toward them, but it’s hilarious that it happened in THIS scenario lol
I knew I wasn't crazy! Just like Eric, I saw that character and instantly thought, "It's Matt Murdock!!!" I'm sad they ended this show because I think it could've continued for years. I would've like to have seen Matt/Daredevil show up in this.
Aaron overthinks all of these so I should have figured he'd go down that path on this one. I loved it - except getting Kiss stuck in my head - it really was very sweet. Their discussion about why that baby on that day....one could say maybe the same thing about Christmas? This was the Christmas episode.
Imagining that awkward moment when Darcy sits her husband down and explains that he's living on a planet where bird meat is one of the most popular staple foods, and he can expect to see "roast duck" on the menus of fancy restaurants. I wonder if this kid will be allowed to eat chicken nuggets...
Definetly one of the weirdest episode of What If but we got a new original character in MCU Byrdie, the magic child is gonna appear again later in the finishing episodes of Season 3 and she is awesome. Also a little Byrdie told me that this new character is also gonna appear in live action played by Natasha Lyonne in a new Fantastic Four movie so it will be interesting to see where they are gonna go with this.
I don’t know a lot about Howard the Duck, but I’m pretty sure throughout his history he’s always gettin’ with human women, so this is not unique to this or the movie lol Also I genuinely and unironically love this episode, I find it ridiculous and amazing 😂
My head canon for Fury shouting "Fury Out!" is a result of him receiving brain damage from when Korg sent him flying and knocked him out.
I like to think it just weakened his inhibitions and this is what the main-timeline Fury wants to say but stops himself.
I have a theory, but I think that's Talos the Skrull, while the real Fury is still in comma. the fury out part seems out of character despite a different timeline.
I think it's more like after Thor's rager, society in general loosened up and became a bit more fratty.

Right?! What if just lets the characters be as ham as they want.
this episode while weird idk was weirdly one of my favorites lol its just so wholesome
When I first watched it I was like "This is stupid" and then by the end I was actually getting a little emotional when they were awaiting their fate.
Mine too
Definitely one of the most weirdest episodes ever. But since this is from Party Thor’s universe, I’m not that surprised. 😂
Aaron’s shirt is oddly appropriate for this one.

i was waiting for the footage of "Dormamu does NOT bargain" after they talked about doramamu bargaining or not lol
@@iCyberDev guess they wanna draw people to pay for the full lenght reaction
The absolute serendipity of Aaron wearing a fucking Ducktales shirt for this reaction is amazing.
"Couples diving on Vormir" was an absolute violation.
Erics face the whole beginning of the episode was me for the entire episode lol
Yup and the final sequence too 😅 really for me, the weakest ep

this episode definitely put the “what?” in What If
Howard The Duck deserves a second try at a movie after 35 years.

“That’s the wrong chip” made me laugh SO hard. What a delivery
I wager "Fury OUT!" was in the script. They were trying to show the influence of party Thor on the world, I believe.
I love that Knowhere has become an Abbott and Costello routine.

Loki being the MVP of the episode, I hope they named him the godfather of Birdie.

It's more wholesome than the 'love' scene in the Howard the Duck movie.
It was clearly based off the actors they could get for the episode.
