@@tamararutland-mills9530 I don't think you understand how much more freedom is available in prison vs what's available to an unsentenced jail inmate accused of a violent felony, being of a far higher security risk. There's no leaving her housing unit unless ordered to court or going to medical. People tend to misunderstand what "innocent until proven guilty" means for someone that presents such a safety/security risk that even the highest bond amount isn't enough.
Why would she delay her inevitable (to her only) vindication by acquittal? It's eminently clear she finds herself innocent.

She's even worse. Take a gander at the policecam video of the time she called the police to her home in 2019 because Jorge supposedly used her credit cards. It is the most gut-wrenching video because we get to see both Jorge and Sarah in action, and she is unbelievably evil and cruel. Jorge Torres never stood a chance. @@Truth17John17 after seeing that, I seriously doubt that Jorge was ever the primary aggressor. He was a short, skinny, soft-spoken guy, his mother and brother attested that he cared about his family (as though he's capable of empathy). Meanwhile, Sarah was _hopping with glee_ to tattle on Jorge to the cops she called, seemingly undistressed for someone who was the supposed victim of violence by her partner. No one who knows Sarah has stepped up to defend _her_ character.
Jorge may have had his demons with drugs and alcohol, but I think that any marks on Sarah were from reactive "abuse" to defend himself from her and hold her off. I expect that she would provoke fights and not let up until he couldn't passively resist any more, and then she'd call the police and present this manipulative narrative to cast herself as the victim and he the abuser, taking advantage of gender stereotypes regarding DV. She could later act like his saviour, the supportive partner who bailed him out and encouraged him through his court-ordered DV classes. We're seeing some of the tactics she used against Jorge modified for use against attorneys, judges, etc. It's how she fills the emptiness inside of her. What a vile person she is.

I've had the same thought many times since learning about this case. Initially I thought maybe they were both abusing each other. But after watching the videos of their previous DV arrests and seeing her attack, belittle, harass and slander her own judges and lawyers whenever she doesn't get her way, I have adjusted my views on that.
I now believe Jorge was not abusing her. I believe she instigated practically all their fights and only called the cops in order to punish/control him. And I believe that because she's doing exactly the same thing to her lawyers/judges. She makes unreasonable demands of them or simply won't take "no" for an answer, then writes a letter to the judge and the public to demonize and manipulate them into doing her bidding without question or hesitation. But unlike Jorge, the State of Florida doesn't love her, isn't homeless or broke and doesn't have to put up with her abusive behavior.
This trial is going to be a bona fide poop show but godspeed, Florida jury. I trust you'll make the right call and give Jorge and his loved ones some long awaited justice.

I'm a criminal defense attorney in California. I don't know how Florida works 100%, but I imagine they have similar pre-trial motions and procedures.
All I can say is that Suitcase Sarah is completely f**ked. She has zero idea what to do. If she had shut her mouth from the start, lawyered up, and listened to at least ONE of her 8 previous attorneys, she could have had a shot at getting some kind of diminished capacity defense (e.g. extreme intoxication, though voluntary), and maybe even a shady "battered woman's syndrome" defense, supported by a Quack psychiatrist, to negate a 2nd degree murder charge and reduce it to some kind of aggravated Manslaughter charge.
And when she gets to jury trial, she is toast. Even a rookie DA could wipe the floor with her and get evidence to a jury that would otherwise be inadmissible all because Suitcase Sarah knows nothing about the rules of evidence.
    But, NOPE!
Suitcase Sarah is going away to prison for a very long time.
And, finally, I CANNOT wait for her trial! I have my popcorn maker ready to go. It's going to be the trial of the century.

@Smaed she's f**ked. Any statements she made come in. The video comes in. Evidence of uncharged domestic violence conduct comes in. Even a lawyer couldn't get that stuff excluded.
I imagine her 8 prior attorneys told her to accept the DA's offer to see chance of daylight. And she refused and refused to talk to attorney coherently about her case.
This is all her doing. She dug the hole herself.

    • @AngryLawyer87
      @AngryLawyer87 3 місяці тому +20

@Smaed Suticase Sarah is toast. Not even an attorney could help her. Her 8 prior attorneys likely told her she needed to take a deal to have a chance at seeing daylight, but she refused. And she likely did not talk to her attorneys in a professional way or was able to assist in her own defense. She probably wanted her prior 8 attorneys to offer false evidence against the rules of evidence and professional candor to the court.
The court can only do so much. At some point, a defendant waives their right to free counsel. She can still hire a private attorney, but I don't imagine any attorney would answer her calls

It seems Sarah does understand what she’s doing and just wants to be a pain in the ass or is she that dense. Just hearing how she speaks to the judge is giving me an idea how she must have been bullying her attorneys. She might not like what The Discovery has to say. All she wants is an out of jail free card. Her poster ad that she created looking for an attorney, looks more like an ad for a circus is coming to town and she is auditioning people to act like a clown. This ad is so condescending and undignified, I can’t imagine any person with a law degree wanting to lower themselves with such a serious matter. A man lost his life at the hands of this monster, so this is no laughing matter.

Such an attitude would make it impossible as a defense attorney to work towards a coherent defense if you can’t even get Sarah to answer a simple question.

She has a right to a fair trial so they were trying to make sure they covered that right so that she didn’t have the opportunity to later appeal the decision of the jury by saying that she wasn’t given a fair trial. I get the sentiment but this actually is the tax dollar saving option because the alternative would be a thrown out conviction and a whole additional trial. Let’s face it, we are paying for this woman’s room and board, in prison or jail, either way because she’s pretty clearly guilty (at least based on what has already been shared by the media).
