Elita-1 is basically Optimus wife. Slipstream is basically one of the many Starscream´s clonse in Animated, one that somehow ended being female, and since then has become a standard Decepticon girl. Hun-Gurr is a Terrorcon, and the leader of a Combiner team that joins into Abominus. And thanks for the video! Also, a lot of that art seems like it´s been lifted from the IDW comics without changes. Firestar and Rewind clearly are basically cuts from comic pages. And a lot of artists worked in those comics, so the art can be a mixed bag.
The things that I like more with the GI JOE game is the cleaner visual presentation in terms of component design (I agree on the iffy card art), there's only one core box, and each expansion comes with a cool 2D/3D play element to use in games (card holders, HQ base, an aircraft carrier). Its what drew me in at first and I ended up loving the actual game. I'm getting less and less interested with the TF game the more I play GI JOE. I may just sell the TF game and buy the TF crossover expansions for GI JOE.
Elita-1 was in a some Cybertron-focused episodes of the original series. But I’d really recommend the Netflix series “War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege”. She’s prominent in it, and it was a lot of fun. If it had included Hot Rod and co, it would be perfect, but alas.
Since you mention Power Rangers deck building at the begging of the video I’ve heard they’re making a solo variant for it and it’s supposed to work with a 15 card deck I believe, kind of like an automa. I hope it really works cause the game has been out for bit now and it kind of feels like they’re just slapping a solo mode to see if they can get the solo community to buy their game.

That combiner you mentioned is actually in the Dinobots box, Devastator.
