I'm so happy you found this video helpful! I made this channel because I didn't even know who I need to ask for help when I first started agility!

Such great tips! Susan Garrett always says your dog should Never know if it made a mistake! Now you know what you have to work on before the next trial.

Thank you! Yes, I agree 😊 Unless it is not a criteria we have taught our dogs (ex, contacts, start line stay...etc...), most mistakes, like off courses are our faults anyways 😆

@@startlinestay9906 oh thanks for checking… while we had fun…. Albert did not qualify. It was a mess of a run. Learned lots and will keep practicing.

Thank you so much for the video. I am new to agility. My papillon had his first trial last month and he did zoomies in the ring and wouldn't listen to me so unfortunately we couldn't finish the run. It is hard because I didn't know who to ask for help at the trials everyone seems so experienced...

Hi, Shannon. I'm so sorry that happened! But everyone's first trial is always filled with surprises and learning curves, but I am so happy you went out there and tried!!! You and your puppy will be able to run the course and finish the run soon as you get used to the trial settings 😊 I still feel the same way as you when I go to trials. I feel like everyone is so experienced, and they all have their own circle of friends, so it's hard to ask questions or for help! Which region do you live in? If I ever get to meet you at a trial, I would love to come say hi! 😊

It would be so helpful if you would make a video on how you taught the basics! How did you teach your start line stay and your command for going around the backside of the jumps. My dog has done 2 agility classes so far! Trying to stay ahead of class!?

I like to listen to Mccann Dog Training or Dad Dog Agility Podcasts/UA-cam videos. I listen to them all the time when I'm driving, doing dishes...etc... I subscribe to OneMind Dogs agility program, so I watch their videos, too 😊 I also recommend looking for an agility club or trainer near by! They can see how you and your dog work together, and give you advices and training tips tailored to your specific needs 😉
