@@TitanFPV Well Titan i really screwed up big time with the xm+ rcvr. As i was holding the bind button and plugging in the lipo i got a solid red and green lights and the red light did not blink even after hitting the bind in my qx7 so i tried binding again but the f'ng bind button just fell right off! I hate the xm rcvr.. At no time did the rcvr give me a blinking red light. I guess ill have to buy another one. 🙄
You should still be able to “jump” the traces where the bind button was. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3114492-Bind-button-came-off-on-XM-receiver-Can-I-still-bind-it-Does-anyone-know-how
Good to know . I got a xm+ receiver recently. It was not binding with tx (only single red light flashing) so I installed the old firmware you put in the link and binded succesfully. In order to flash the rx firmware from qx7 transmitter I had to choose S port since external option gave an error message.
On fiddling with the battery connector while trying to hold the bind button....I got fed up and use a rocker switch from the local automotive store...It's part of my smoke stopper so I can just flip a switch instead of needing 3 hands to hold down the bind button and struggling with the plugs at the same time.. hope this helps.
Yeah, I’ve seen that. That's probably much easier than fiddling with the battery connector. Definitely something people who use frsky receivers often should consider. I switched to Crossfire a long time ago. That was my solution. 😂
One of the guys here said you have a link that installed the old firmware V1 that you put in here? Where do i find tis link? i have a new xm+ rcvr i just bought but it won't bind. If i update my qx7 for the 2.2.x will my old quads that have the frsky V1.X still work?
@@TitanFPV Ok great so i will downgrade my qx7. Thanks Titanfpv for this information as you probably saved my butt from a whole lot of hell! Thanks for the great videos as well!! ✈️👍
Hello I need help. I installed the xm+ on my tinyhawk 2. When is bind the radio to the receiver it's flashing green instead of a solid green. I went on betaflight and I don't have any input on my radio. Like it it didn't bind
Do you have the correct UART in the ports tab in Betaflight set as serial rx? Do you have the rx set to serial based receiver and sbus in the configuration tab?
You may not have the correct firmware on one or either. Frsky 2.1 and above firmware is not compatible with the older stuff. Do you have a accst or access QX7?
I'm tryi g to bind this with jumper t lite, frsky x2 mode. When I bind the green light turns off and red stays on solid. When I power cycle the red light flashes again
Make sure you are running pre 2.1.x firmware, or it won’t bind with the T lite or any multi-protocol radio. You should be able to find the link to the older firmware in the video description.
When I do this I get the red/green solid lights, hit bind on the transmitter, unplug/replug the quad but then just have a flashing red light on the XM+...what am I doing wrong?
I had my quad plugged into betaflight and was changing the motor layout and i guess during the saving i lost internet and it disconnected but now when i try and plug in the quad to usb i don’t even get a new com port open but when i plug in my mobula 6 it opens a new com port. Also when i plug in the battery it makes 3 beeps but doesn’t make the last 2 long ones like it used to. I’m not sure what happened or what to do
If you don’t have any rxs that are on 1.X, you can update the internal Frsky module on the QX7 to the most recent firmware. Otherwise, you can downgrade the firmware on the Xm+ to the 1.X firmware.
I don't know how you did this so easy I'm having such a hard time I have tango 2 and flywoo hexcopter with xm+ and I'm doing what you say but I can't change or Bind like you can why? Am I dumb
Not necessarily any OpenTX radio. The module is what matters. It has to be compatible with D16 mode, or ACCESS. Frsky radios will obviously work, and so will lots of multi-protocol radios. I believe the T8SG has a multi protocol chip. I was able to bind it to my Tango 2 because I added the external module. The radios documentation should tell you what protocols it supports.
@@TitanFPV really appreciate this where can I find the compatibility list for the tx12? Is this compatible with the frsky xm+ because the modules are same and also the opentx allows it to connect to more than just a few same branded receivers? Sorry I’m totally new just trying to understand it!
@@TitanFPV so along as it has D16 mode it’s technically compatible with the frsky xm+? Sorry I know I’m bombarding you with messages just eager hahaha!
i have frsky xm+ I'm trying to bind to e8 emax controller. it is IMPOSSIBLE .. I'm going to write Emax a long hate-letter and I'm going to write frsky a long hate-letter.. this is COMPLETE BS!!!!!!!!!!!
It does. You just have to be on the correct rx firmware. The multi protocol modules will not bind with ACCESS or 2.1.x firmwares. You will have to get the legacy firmware from FRSKY’s website. They are shipping with newer incompatible firmwares unfortunately.
@@TitanFPV yeah, figured it out after a few days of UA-cam research. FRSky seems to have removed legacy firmware but someone linked to them and I picked up all that I found. I’m considering buying an xm+ rx and trying the firmware rollback and see if I can bind it.
I still end up watchin videos every time I do this . thanks

Hi, Can I get my older DJT and DFT Tx modules working with the XM receivers
Based on their spec sheet, I don't believe they would be compatible with the XM+ which is a D16 rx.
When I do this I get the red/green solid lights, hit bind on the transmitter, unplug/replug the quad but then just have a flashing red light on the XM+...what am I doing wrong?
Try moving it a bit further away from the transmitter.

how can I know which radios are compitable to bind with Frsky XM+ ?
The radio just has to support Frsky d16 protocol. So pretty much all multi protocol radios, and most Frsky radios running the correct firmware.

I have Betafpv lite radio 3 qx7 and tango 2 thanks I'm very frustrated already
It’s pretty simple if the firmware is compatible on both devices. You can’t use pre-access firmware with access firmware. They won’t bind.
Can i do it from the betaflight configurator CLI ?
Unfortunately not. That only works on spi receivers.
Tbs tango works with frsky?
It does with an mpm module.
