Ostapenko firing on all cylinders is a delightful player to watch. Fluid movement has never really been Pliskova's forte, so this match comes as no surprise, although she did put up a fight in the 2nd.
When they asked Ostapenko who her favorite player was, she wasn’t afraid to say Serena. While many players shied away from saying Serena inspired them for fear of the press comparing them to Serena, she did not cower. It was then that I saw strength in her and recognized that with proper guidance, this lady could go on to do great things. I still think she has a few more slams in her. She just needs a team to teach her how to impose herself from start to finish and aim to end matches in 2 sets.
Wishfull thinking! If she were that good she would hsve some titles or at least one GS. She playes one match on an outstanding level and the next she plays below any standards letting her frustrations on the court winning over herself. When she has her day she us unbeatable but that is lack of consistency and her vety bad temper as well as cheating when losing like faking mefical issues that does not allow her to be a better player overall.
