TLDR - I love the album, mixing is incredible, mastering has a peculiar creative intent that I didn't dislike but would like to listen in an alternate, clearer version. This song is really on another level. It has a complex narrative and a distinguishable character that abuses every background knowledge you have. Even if it gives you control over the actual facts and happenings, you can read every comment under this video and we all have the same approach, some psychotic, shadowy, malefic being that's driving you to your atrocious demise, helplessly. This is not my favorite song from the album, but it must definitely be the best one. I indeed think this whole album is crazy good, the best from their small (in my opinion; I would really like more and more) repertoire whoever I would really like to have an alternate remastered version for the whole album. I understood what you tried to do here, giving that shady, old school, even mysterious vibe with the heightened mids and the delicate old bulb hum but the execution of the instruments and the amazing mixing were slightly overshadowed by those effects; I would love to hear the actual execution, with a traditional mastering and way less creative intention, so that I can listen to every instrument at their actual performance. Don't misunderstand this, I love this whole album and I would probably keep listening to it even after an alternate version, I just would like to have both choices. I get it, it's very expensive to make a remaster and also hurts the artist ego to hear that someone wants an "alternate" version of your masterpiece and all, but I think it's valid as someone who simply loves the sound by itself, in the many ways it can be presented, to want to listen to a "true quality" execution, with less mastering effects. Hope this wasn't way toooo long, I've been having this in my head since I started listening to this album. By the way, to all those who think the mixing is bad, you guys need to know the difference between mix and master; the mixing here is extremely good, it is so damn good, you can identify every instrument even though the sound in general is kind of baffled; the mixer did an incredible job here and I can't be more satisfied with it.
