    I love it!!! It looks so shiny and I love how the purple is very soft, not so bold and the variation with brown makes it not too overpowering. I would have never thought to use purple but thanks to you my eyes have been opened to a whole new world! 💁‍♀️

      @@lf9341 so I have probably less then 15 to 20 percent grey to begin with. My hair is natural level 5 to 6N. The grey strands mostly highlight my bangs, like around my face and then are just randomly scattered thru out my head mostly as individual hairs rather than clumps or sections. They are white grey. I don't dye or bleach/highlight my hair because of damage. When I have, it's only been with semi permanent that contains no peroxide or ammonia and yes it washes out fast unless you can bear to wash hair a minimal number of times per week. That said, as you know semi permanent will only color hair that is lighter than the color you are trying to dye. Like a semipermanent blonde won't color brown without adding in developer, which I don't want to use on my fine hair.(hence the reason I'd select semi permanent in 1st place). So I have tried a semi permanent color that was like honey blonde or something but it was lighter than my brown so it just made my hair feel fuller and shinier like a gloss but it did color my grey's so it looked like I had honey brown highlights around my face vs grey/white highlights around my face. The other random strands through my head were not very noticeable, they just looked like natural color variations in the hair giving depth. So all that to say yes to your question of did it color my grey! Lol sorry I'm lolng winded! Oh, and the semipermanent dyes I've used have been from Sally's beauty supply, not the Walmart boxed dyes ..idk If that makes a difference or not. Hope that helps you!❤️

    Hi Alex! I just found your channel and I'm loving every minute of your videos. I'm 26 and have grey hairs since I was around 13-14, and now, by watching your videos and your confident greys, I'm seriously about to stop touching up my roots every single month... thanks for that... I need a little push. Oh, also! Love to hear you talk about self-love, how to be more confident and body acceptance, positivity. You said you are more confident now in your skin than you were ever before, I loved to hear that, I feel the same way.
    The purple looks amazing! Seriously might try that too! Have an awesome weekend xo

      @@lf9341 I tried Manic Panic, it washes out very quickly. Next, Got2Be, and that was fantastic. We had a shortage during the lockdown, so I tried Colorista (the one in the video), and it really lasts as well. I love my blue hair, and it blends/fades beautifully. I get lots of compliments, even at the grocery store. here's also Joico Color Intensity, but it's just more $$ because it's a salon product. meh Oh, and it didn't make my hair tangle or dried out; no cream rinse required. I hope that was helpful.

    Purple looks soooo lovely. You’re right purple works best for grey hair since it is already used for toning silver/grey coloured hair.
    The green hair in the thumbnail kinda threw me off 😂 I knew you wouldn’t go for a green that bright but it also kinda looked cool on you 🙈

    Hey there! Love the video! Could I please ask how this fades out? I don't want to ever cover my greys anymore (it's finally shoulder length, been going grey since I was a child, I'm early 30's now) unless it's with funky colours that wash out eventually. I used a green toner that ended up showing up as blue on my grey that I loved.
    To anyone considering going natural, DO IT! I've gotten more compliments about my hair now than I ever did before (and I have always had great hair, dyed or not)
    Thank you!

    It’s funny most people say semi permanent doesn’t stick to grey or natural hair, but then why does purple shampoo exist for people with grey hair
    Basically you have to have super pigmented dye

  • @jenesoleil3922
    @jenesoleil3922 2 роки тому +1

    Hi Alex. When I saw the alien green hair, I was like, “Damn girl, really? You’re hardcore!” 😂. But the purple looks really pretty ❤️. Like I mentioned before, the coloring and texture of your hair is very much like mine. (I have French Canadian ancestry, so maybe we’re distantly related? 🤷🏼‍♀️) You’ve also become like my virtual hair model. Maybe if I’m not sure about something I will ask you to try it first lol!
    Oh and a couple recommendations. If you have trouble getting out direct dyes out, I find that the charcoal shampoo by Giovanni works great. Also, the one by Overtone is good, too, but more expensive. Not certain if either are available in Canada. As you likely already know, we have to be careful with direct dyes because even though our hair is a natural blank canvas for these types of dyes, if we create porosity, it stains. And then we’re stuck with growing out process again ugh!

    • @MindMadeUp
      @MindMadeUp  2 роки тому +1

      Haha I would never actually do green. It's notorious for being impossible to get out. And you're right, the staining issue is a concern of mine too. Thanks for the charcoal shampoo tip 🙂

    I’m curious - I’ve died my hair since 17 to cover my grey, and finally after 25+ years I shaved my head (3 years ago) to let my natural colour grow in. Now it’s about 75% white/grey on the top layers with my natural chocolate brown underneath (only about 30-40% grey?). I haven’t had virgin hair since I was 10. Now I’m starting to itch a little to try a semi permanent colour. Seeing this was helpful, especially since you have the mostly dark underneath as well.

    • @MindMadeUp
      @MindMadeUp  2 роки тому +1

      That's so cool that you shaved your head. I wish I would have been brave enough to do it that way lol. Semi-permanent colour works pretty well. You just have to be careful with staining the grey. I've used some in the past that showed up well on my brown hair, but I would be scared that those would never really wash out. Trying to avoid having roots again.

    • @reeneebob1
      @reeneebob1 2 роки тому

      @@MindMadeUp well the shave ended up happening because the stylist tried bleaching to do a gradual blend…and my hair was too damaged to take it. The brown colouring hid the amount of damage…and it was so compromised that after two weeks of trying to save it I made the call and took it to a number 2 level with the clippers. My stylist who had done my hair since I was 12 was horrified - he shaved it off in his own kitchen. He was old school and the younger stylists insisted to him that with Olaplex it would be fine to double process my hair in one go…he kept saying he should have trusted his gut after 40 years in the business lol.
      Not going to lie though - I LOVED having a super short buzz. It was so easy and people still tell me it suited me. I love having long hair again and I love my grey, but I’d shave it again in a heartbeat.

    I'm a guy in my early 20s. I have grey hairs and I'm really insecure about it. I heard hair dyes cause baldness im the long run.
    I have short hair and i have to dye my hair every other day or at least once in a week.

      I can't answer these questions for you, unfortunately. People can have allergic reactions to anything. Generally a semi-permanent dye is a gentler option, but I haven't done any research on a link between dyes and hair loss. This particular brand doesn't last very long in the hair. A few washes and most of it is gone. I know it's hard, but I would try to be more accepting of your hair. It's okay to have grey hair 🙂.
