  • David Lama climbs the "Eternal Flame" route on the 6239m high Nameless Tower, which has a reputation for being one of the most demanding rock climbs above 5000 meters. With its steep walls and perfect cracks, it was a prototype project for the team of the young Austrian.

    Amazing stuff...
I've done quite a bit of snow and ice climbing in New Zealand, but for some reason rock climbing like this scares me to death... Huge respect to these guys.

Altitude, yes. The end is a 1200 meter near vertical climb at a grade of 5.12+, which begins at an altitude that's already as high as Mont Blanc. These giant rock-climbs are the most difficult in the world. They were pioneered in free style in the early 90s by the best climbers/alpinists ever, Güllich, Kurtyka, Loretan, Lowe, Destivelle.

This is Redbull's record of their sublime climb? What a shittily edited video for such an unbelievable experience. Sentimental music, uninspiring footage of climbing, no brief history of Trango Tower's ascents or the climb's grade. A couple seconds of them going up a beautiful crack at 1:51 - 1:55. Then some vague mixed stuff, then the top.
