I was so worried that this game was gonna just be average licensed garbage, but I'm so happy it's good! Now, all we need is DLC that lets you play as AcceleRacers and World Race cars and race on those tracks!

@@SnowToast282 I know that, but I mean more than just Teku and Wave Ripper representation. I want to see Silencerz, Metal Maniacs, Scorchers, Road Beasts, Street Breed, and Dune Ratz cars. Hell, the option to race in the AcceleDrome would be sick.

I still dream of racing on those accelaracers tracks. Though if they ever do a sequel to this I hope they take a lot of inspiration from World Race. It would be neat to have the cars fill different niche's or have different abilities rather than basically be the same thing but slightly different stats

Yeah, a lot of the reviewers have sounded genuinely surprised at how much they liked it. This one hadn't been on my radar either, but now it's on my wishlist. (But I'm not paying fifty bucks for it...)

Bruh Hot Wheels games are good. Velocity X and World Race are god tier.
This looks like a game I'd play with friends on our designated "shitty" game night and then end up playing with them on other game nights.

This game looks sick but I fear them patching microtransactions in after getting early sales.
There's nothing to fear. They definitely will, so this is not a hypothetical. Their previous games had DLC vehicles, so I don't see why this one wouldn't.
@@Mezurashii5 I'm okay with some DLC vehicles. I'm worried about that in-game shop getting patched to sell in-game currency for real money.
You can take a watch of Skill Up's review. He's pretty sure microtransactions are coming due to how anemic currency is.
It was publicly stated that there will never be an in game currency exchange for real world money.

I was kinda hesitant to buy this game because it's a licensed game and those have a poor track record but after hearing this I'm definitely going to buy it

I remember playing Hot Wheels Turbo Racing on the N64 when I was little, SO much fun, seeing this makes me think back fondly on those memories, might pick this up.
I'll wait for a sale and probably pick it up for $20
Tbh i honestly recommend it in its current state, and its packed with content, plus the gameplay is actually great, and its not luck based like most other racing games mostly made for kids. I don't blame u tho, racers can get stale fast for some people
Thanks for playing KC 🙏 I'm nowhere near a fan of racers but I agree that this looks like a ton of loving detail work went into it ☺️ I think Vie would have liked to see that museum aspect too but I get the impression they either didn't think of it or maybe wanted to get everything else right first before trying to start there. I too was worried this wouldn't live up to the hot wheels racing game of my youth. I'm glad to see that isn't the case.
I use to play "hot wheels - stunt track" on the PC when I was a kid for hours on end. I'll have to get this

Watching this game makes me feel nostalgic. While I don't think I will play it today, my kid self would have played it and I think it would be something that I would have spent hours playing. I think the closest thing to that experience with toys was some Bionicles game that I had for pc.

Started downloading this an hour ago due to the reviews and nostalgia, then I saw this pop up on my subscriptions, and almost freaked out seeing who uploaded it. I'm so used to Yahtzee's reviews I expected this to be a butchering. So glad to see I made a good choice
Watching this gave me flashbacks to playing Stunt Track Driver as a little kid. Except now everything is rendered real-time instead of being an FMV.
Soooo gonna get this for Switch. Wish had gotten more info on multiplayer modes. Two player split screen and 12 online. (Switch)

This really feels like a "no real money transactions.....yet" game
I have a feeling they may not ever add real money transactions at least for the loot boxes. The game is very clearly marketed towards children, since Hot Wheels is a children's IP. Having loot boxes in a game specifically made for kids is just a recipe for a PR nightmare.

Didn't knew this game and was kind of expecting the review to say it was meh at best due to it being a licensed one, but now I'm thinking about adding it to my wishlist.
I wish they would release the Battle Force 5 DLC pack where it has everything, from the vehicles to the stages and hell even the main theme

It really doesn't seem like the game is following through on the potential of driving a tiny car. Seems like instead of navigating familiar environments at tiny scale, you're just sorta driving on hovering tracks with a little bit of set dressing in the distance
@@pug307wayne well forgive me, then, 90% of the gameplay I've seen so far has been on tracks floating in the middle of a room rather than navigating around furniture/obstacles/etc like they did in the old Stunt Track Driver games

Realistically, people are probably either still skeptical or in disbelief that a Hot Wheels game can actually be good. As a fan of the brand I don't see it, Hot Wheels has always been good fun, although if I were to put myself in their shoes, I guess a game about toy cars is questionable.
That being said, I highly recommend this game. It being a Hot Wheels game aside, gameplay is fun and damn near addicting. Both the track builder and livery editor are very in depth, official track design is remarkable, physics and handling are perfect for the arcade style racing, and there's something for everyone with the variety of the roster. Definitely worth the money
I wish the Xbox store had the option to buy both generation versions of the game in a bundle. I don't want to have to completely re-buy it when Series X's are in stock again in 5 years.
They need to allow me to invite my friends before going into muliplayer
This game will have microtransactions added before Christmas. Mark my words.
They’ve already outlined their DLC plans with an expansion pass, etc. Not really a surprise for this type of game.
forget about cheap hotwheels. remember the high detailed matchbox metal toy cars with actual springs build in :)
Hot Wheels came on the scene and outperformed Matchbox to the point that Mattel was able to buy out Matchbox and now owns both. Can't really say Hot Wheels are cheap mate 😂
@@joeysandoval5269 they're cheap in quality build and attention to detail. i own a lot of both of them, mint condition :)

Can confirm that classic vehicles are definitely in this game, they're the rarer Super Treasure Hunt or secret cars. Also Bassline from Acceleracers and Deora II from World Race have both been confirmed for DLC if you're an early 2000s kid like me, and RD-02 is already present in game

Word of warning for playing with friends. In splitscreen P2 won’t earn any account progress. Also, no coins for P1 either. Playing online against a friend in a private lobby doesn’t fill with AI. If you don’t want to play against strangers, it will be just the two of you. Finally, there is no co-op for main game. Me and my kids like to progress in split screen together on these sort of ganes, but you can’t on this. Disappointing. Single player seems good though.

Stay away from the switch version. Its laggy, uglier and buggier when compared to the other versions.
"Attention to detail..." Can't get this out of my head now seeing the superb set of wheels at the end colliding with the track mesh (and seeing the contradictory evidence to the narrator in the video)... Forgot to mention, the physics in this is pretty bad too.
This Hot wheels game looks duller than watching a cow munch grass.
