I've noticed that many Thai people seem to think if you say "up to you" in english it's impolite, well it's OK to use. It's only impolite in some cases or depending on the tone of your voice. Though in general it's OK to use.
Thanks for the "Same Same" Thing. My friend asked my why i use the english word "same" in Laos and Thailand, while i speak Thai

I have one more expression that only Thais use: "lotat" meaning Lotus/Tesco Lotus. For me "lotat" sounds cute when said by a Thai woman.

It’s at 6:07. Both my Thai-Language and Paiboon apps agree with you (ends in kɔɔ-kwaai). Same ending sound, tho.
Thai finger counting seems to split the difference the difference between American and German finger counting. Americans tend to use the index finger for 1 & 6, while Germans use the the thumb.
Probably because for Americans holding up your thumb means good job (ie facebook). So if you walked into a deli and they asked "how many do you want?" And you held up your thumb, they would be pretty confused thinking you're saying "good job man."
Yes, A fun and useful list. But it seems inaccurate to say these are phrases only Thai people use. Half of them are actually English words spoken with a tie exit.

My Thai coworker spoke English with really heavy Thai tone/accent, it's sounded very funny, I ask him not to speak that way, but he couldn't, I suppose his brain mouse and tongue were programmed from birth for Thai, that he could not shake it off.

Klai also mean near/ far...so many word mean the same thing in Thai, look at the word Khao.., hard for a westerner to understand the raising tones.
it's not the same thing. Kláai, long vowel high tone, similar, glâi, short vowel falling tone, near, glai short vowel mid tone, far, glaai long vowel, become. There's differences in sound and vowel lenght besides the tones. But you always get the meaning also by the context of the sentence that is spoken. I am think it helps if you learn the thai script and there you see they write differently as well wich helps in understanding and separating them better.
คล้าย similar ไก้ล near ไกล far กลาย become. I am learning Thai for almost an year and the only thing I can say is you have to keep listening to Thais speaking over and over again. Its getting easier to understand and differentiate them better the more I get used to the language
In real life, no one says "where is where is where" sentences, except they intentionally make a joke.
you spelt hi-soo, a native English speaker would spell it hi-so.
