How to beat Smithy [Super Mario RPG Boss Fight] Final Boss

The Final Boss of Super Mario RPG, Smithy! My strategy for this fight is to primarily use Mario, Bowser, and Peach. The trick to this trio is their endurance to many of the attacks Smithy might throw out.

Just wanted to thank you. Was struggling, watched your video and beat it first try. I wasn't aware that the special move with Mario, Bowser and Geno put a defense buff. That is a life saver

should smithys whole body turn green in tank form

What level are you to have that much physical attack damage? My attacks are only doing 100-200 damage.

I think the low 20s. Equipment also helps, some accessories like the Belt from Jinx up attack.
