Culex got a massive glow up and I enjoyed his fight the most. But it does suck that certain characters like Valentina didn’t get a rematch, they could’ve had her team up with Booster as a couple along with the Snifits for a challenging rematch.
@@brandonwilliams6119 Like, I'm fine with not having that rematch, since the planter Shy Guy is part of a secret sidequest already (with the condition of just wanting to be left alone afterwards), but Birdo literally makes a setup for a rematch in the main story with her end of fight dialog. Really, probably comes down to them way underestimating how popular the remake would be.
Fun fact for Gunyolk: both him and his factory chief are weak to the sleep status; meaning so long as you spam special attacks, Peach’s sleep inducing spell, and never use a physical attack, you actually cannot lose the fight. Your best party is likely Mario, Peach, Mallow due to Mallow’s Snowy spell; but Mario, Peach, Geno is also still very powerful.
The booster rematch was actually my favorite in the game so far because I was only level 23 or something at the time, and I’m not really sure how the speed stat works, but he very often got to a point where he would go to work on the train and finished working on the train on the same turn. So it was an instant party wipe.
@@BowlOSoup6661 Generally I’d say that was correct. When I have the Feather on Geno then my Boy charges the train and uses it on the same turn, not sure how much higher the speed stat needs to be to make that not happen.
My favourite boss is 3D Culex, super cool, such a masterpiece of a boss. Also, I really like that you can battle him as many times as you want to get a better personal score. Great list BTW, I also really enjoy the battle against the Axem Rangers, such a neat boss.
Something that makes every boss after Valentina weird is that you can go and get the Lazy Shells which will make Mario about as good as a physical attacker as Geno and will also make Peach an unkillable Goddess who will make your team immortal.
I was really excited to finally experience this game when it was released, and I had fun with it and it’s nice to see people are giving it the attention it deserves
I feel like almost no research was done in making this video. So many incorrect or ignored features of the bosses. No mention of Booster's original fight when you fail the curtain game. No understanding of Punchinello's bomb gimmicks. No mention at all of Culex's rematch fight's attack that leaves everyone down to 1 hp if they're at full health. (That one can't be blocked.) No mention of Geno Whirling Exor. The Blade doesn't wipe out everyone with its beam. Your characters were low on health to begin with. Terrible ranking with inaccurate reasoning behind them.
I assume he is going off of a first playthrough experience, assuming he didn’t play the original. But yes I find it strange he says he struggled on some of these fights when most of them are super easy compared to the original game.
I have not played the original game and i only have one completed play through of the remake. If i were to sit and describe every single attack and detail of every boss like “Geno’s whirl” that deals 9999 it would be a 67 minute video. Almost everything you pointed out i knew but just didn’t go into detail. I have watched over 10 videos of people trying to figure out punchinello’s gimmick and i have not found one person with a valid answer. As for booster, i didn’t fail the curtain mini game, so i didn’t fight a boss there lol, like you literally have to try to lose that. My ranking is based on uniqueness of the boss fights i encountered, not a detailed list of every move everyone does. It’s also funny most of my choices resonated with many other’s lists when i did some research afterwards. If you don’t like the list, move on and make your own.
@@Nin10doland Maybe next time, frame your information as such then. You worded it as if you were giving information about the battles, when it was not the case. And there are valid answers to the Punchinello gimmick in the comments to this video. And telling people who give honest criticism to "make [their] own list" is just a dick response.
My favorite is the final boss, Smithy. I like that he can transform and has some powerful attacks. He's one of the most evil villains in the Mario series.
It’s mind blowing because I’ve seen countless comments on multiple videos praising the game and glad it was remade, but the views don’t seem to match that positivity. It has sold really well, not as much as a mainline Nintendo IP, but still well from what I’ve seen, so maybe it’s just people not wanting to be spoiled yet?
Dodo always chooses the party member in the center for the one-on-one (at least, that has ALWAYS been my experience since playing the original in the 90s).
Super Mario RPG was never the hardest RPG, but I always found Spearidovich (formerly known as Yaridovich) to be where the "difficulty spike" started. Water Blast hits like a tank and you don't have access to the Lazy Shell or Red Essence yet.
4:00 How could you miss that ?? I definitly don't understand that stupid fight actually works, even if I attack him every turn to prevent him for using his train, he can just sometime start working on the train AND use it during the same turn (even if I manage to have the best speed possible in the game). I won that fight by pure luck and this was easily the worst boss of the entire game imo 7:30 it depends of which you decide to defeat first, Cloaker will fuse with Mad Adder but Domino will fuse with Earth Link (they are mostly the same tho) Btw I totally agree about the Axem Rangers fight, I love these guys fr My top 3 would be somthing like 3rd : Jonathan Jones 2nd : Yaridovitch 1st : Axem Rangers
You actually have to attack the chain in the Bowser fight, because Bowser himself is pretty much invincible there. Also, the back-ground of the top of Booster’s tower looks like a real-life sky that someone recorded for the game.
16:28 Not really, u can just use this setup to make the boss battle EXTREMELY EASY : Lazy Shell (Weapon) Lazy shell (Armor) Ghost medal (accessory) This will make Johnny do like 1 or 15 damage per hit, it makes it alot easier.
Some of my favorite boss fights would have to be the final boss and the secret boss. The other bosses are actually pretty good, but the final bars and secret boss are actually pretty good. I enjoy fighting the final boss on law. It was fun. I love the a lot. I even went to max level because of it. And it was actually really fun.
Exor is still my favorite of the game, just because of how climactic it is, even though he's not the end. I was exceedingly disappointed to see that neither it nor the other weapon bosses got rematches.
Culex is easily my favorite fight because I do like all his 4 crystals and the concept and lore he has. Plus I do like harder bosses given SMRPG is admittedly easy for RPG standards. But Axem Rangers are my next favorite yeah.
Forgot their name but the Power ranger axe Things were my favorite. Don’t know why to be honest Maybe it was the setting or how i was feeling during the fight. I just enjoyed them a lot. i will say though Culex was also really fun. Never played the og so I had fun with the whole game mostly.
Boyer was the best for me Axem:a bit to complex to find each move Smithy:final boss energy gives carry Exor:GENO WIRL Clock:to dumb design also might be a bit too funny to be a boss Also he rematches needs to have seprete

I probably die to culex a lot
The rematch list is painfully short. The only thing that truly disappointed me.

For the rematch punchanello you would need to hit a perfect attack on the bomboms to turn them around.
it is so frusterating indeed.
I didn't find it to be that bad, it was the ones I didn't turn which proved difficult.
Really??
yeahh. I actually really enjoyed that fight
17:54 Bob-bombs don't turn based on how hard you hit them but if you do the action command correctly (when it hits all enemies)

The speed stat determines who goes first.

Yeah, I join the battle and then all party members die and I couldn’t beat punchnello and looked up a video how to get there and skipped punchnello
Also I used spare us all and nothing happened
I think Dodo is an Optional boss fight when you don’t have the Star power up to instant kill him during the Valentina Chase.
Yeah , I had to fight dodo three times, when he thinks you are moving,in the chase, and during the Valentina fight at the beginning
@@Murali2Ravi-ik3qf It is possible to avoid both dodo fights by just timing the jumps perfectly, and getting the star powerup
