On a track that no longer exists. We miss you, Hockenheim.
Terbaik Hockenheim
Two of my favorite all time riders. Mid 90s WSBK was an amazing time.
Loved WSBK back then, great riding and great characters. Is it just me or was it so much easier to see who was riding the bikes on the track back then. The big numbers on the front were great and the colour schemes were easily recognisable
Yep.
Bikes were more legible, camera angles helped the viewer.
Hockenheim... a shadow now of what a glorious track it was!!
100%
Those bikes were so manual
Great WSBK times, today does not come close to it. Feel sorry for PFC there though, he did not deserve that.
Otro lloron con su comentario cliché 😴😴😴
WONDERFUL YEARS
Chili ALWAYS gave his all, always at the limit no backing off.
Then the women would follow him around in the pits like puppy dogs, he was gracious to everyone.
He tossed me a set of signed brake pads at Laguna Seca, still have em
That was dirty
The golden era of SBK

Absolutely fantastic race just a shame it ended like that🏁🏁🏁
Sad finish 😢
For me this era was the best days of WSBK. Anyone remember Whitham and Fogarty at Monza looking at each other as they vied for the lead whilst booting it down the start/finish straight? Loved watching the racing at Monza and the old Hockenheim with the freight trains of superbikes. Can remember seeing this live...Chili didn't deserve that. It used to be the opposite, but nowadays I much prefer MotoGP to WSBK.
96 ‚ bei dem Rennen, … glaub da war ich auch in Hockenheim 🤔 Lang is her …
🎉🎉
If memory serves me right, that Honda was 750cc machine that was a right weapon in that era with slight and co,, the fact it could hang and challenge the bigger cc ducati is a credit to the Honda engineers 👏..great battles, the kawasaki zx7 was a similar 750 that had a fantastic chassis that handles on rails to in superbike and British superbike..great times, great memories 👏.
The ducati had the disadvantage of only being a twin, hence why they needed several engines per weekend. And the 750 road bikes were loads faster than the ducati because the ducati had to be detuned to last.
Pretty sure I remember watching this crash way back then. Does anyone know how Chili came away afterwards? That was a brutal tumble. Not sure but looked like Slight closed the door too far and left PFC nowhere to go.
Also cool to see the names at the end. John Kocinski, Colin Edwards, and Carl Fogarty on a Honda instead of the Ducati years when he dominated WSB.

The 90's was the golden era of World Superbike. Great bikes and riders. I don't bother watching it now.
hockenheim wonderful circuit !
懐かしい時代だなあ。
これはリアルタイムで観てたよ!スライトはコーナー進入のラインどりが他のライダーに比べてよりタイトだった記憶がある
Brutal
Oh the good ol' Hockenheim! What a superb race track it was! WSBK was great too in the 90s.
2:17 oh my goodness!
Wonderful circuit with two fantaastic riders.
I remember that race PF Chili cried afterward. Oh wait that was every race!
He had every right to. Slight did that on purpose and at the end he even looked behind as if he was completely unaware of what he had just done. He knew he was fu**ed and the only thing he could do was to cheat his way to the "win". Pretty pathetic and unsportsmanlike. The only race he won that year was because of a dirty move. A factory Honda team rider beaten by a guy on a client Ducati...
You just made me laugh .
an era where V4 engines were hated and limited, because they were waiting for another V4, the RC51 came to prove it and left after it was finished..
@rzaultra165
Actually, in the 2-years Honda fielded the RC51 - Ducati clone, the Ducati won more races - Google it my friend!

What means "Edwards II"???
Colin Edwards
Colin Edwards the second. His dad didn't want to call him junior I guess.
That was amazing, unfortunate for the Duc rider though...
Mighty Slightly on his red green and whitey
Mighty dirty.
Apuradas de frenada sin sacar la pierna ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ducati düzlükte hızlı diğer markalar düzlükte ducati,yi geçemiyor,Ducati pilotları başka markalarda başarılı olamazlar,bu hep böyleydi hiçbir zaman değişmez en büyük örnek Alvaro Bautista
Uggg... i remember that crash. Slight had the inside line, that was an awful tumble Chili took that day.
he didnt have the line he was behind he clipped him that was dirty! whole lap was nice & clean until it wasnt! Yea.yea I get it "its racing" but that wasnt clean that was dirty he went for it & didnt care the outcome!
Slight ran him off the track..... plenty of room, Slight just did him dirty.
