Well, here's an absolute classic from "old" Assen in Race 2, 2000! 'Nitro Nori' battled hard with Troy Bayliss, bringing some insane moves! ⚔️

Haga is the best to have never won a WSBK Championship. Fantastic rider.

I lost a bet over that! I laid it the day he dive bombed Mick Doohan in his Japanese GP wildcard ride, some years before. Nitro Nori was an absolutely supernatural rider.
he's fast with Yamaha, Aprilia,ducati..2 stroke, 4 stroke...while bayliss only fast with ducati

Golden era for sure but Toprak vs Bautista at Jerez is the modern version of this race, 38 overtakes for the lead.

Gotta love the old assen track layout. Which really had the spirit of the early TT races, when they raced between villages. Great battle. Haga is the Pedrosa of the WSBK, a winner without a championship win.
Omg that video brings back so much happy memories of watching them battling it out right on the limit of man and machine in perfect harmony right to the end...oh i miss those days of it being on the BBC with no blooming adverts and just pure balls to the wall racing.

In superbikes there was the Foggy era and the Bayliss era.
Nitro Nori has always been my favourite WSBK rider. Never really got the full factory bike in 500s which was a shame. He should have been on the M1which I believe would have suited him better.

Now I understand how bad back markers were destroying the battle. That's why the competition nowadays is so close (apart from "green" Honda), so then there will be no back markers like this anymore.

Bk when Ducati dominated SBK 998cc v twin vs 750cc inline4.. if you look at SBK in from 2021 to 2024 Ducati been dominating again I'll always stay inline4s 4eva

Haga was the 2nd best rider this year, just like in 2009
