I love my b2601! I have front end loader with teeth and backhoe. I use it for footers and landscaping and prepping. It’s great for a light yet strong capable machine that won’t mess your yard up too much and it’s smaller, so more useful in tight spaces. And I also have a stick to move the gas pedal backwards and forwards when using the backhoe. So I can quickly operate. I recommend it.
Good video Tim! That’s a nice little backhoe setup. I nearly bought the bh77 with my l3901 a few years ago but opted just to rent a mini when I need to dig. Nice work
Great video. Son use to say we should have a backhoe, I’d say, what would we use it for? He’d say, dig a hole, then fill it back up again. Hehe. We still get a kick out of that sayin. Any way, your right, if you have it you’ll find uses for it. We never did get one. But could have used one for sure at times. I grow potatoes, as a hobby, but lately it’s getting hard to dig out 500 lbs of them. One of those backhoes would be perfect for digging potatoes. Hehe. Cool here In PEI, Canada today. Wood stove on in garage. Typical May weather. Wet and cool. Have a good one.
I have to agree with your son. It is cold and damp here in Eastern Ontario as well. The best ice cream I've ever had was from the Kool Breeze Dairy Barn near Summerside last year. I love the island. I too grow around 500lbs of potatoes a year but haven't used the backhoe to dig them up with. It would make a great video though, what do you think??
I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing all your years of experience with us!! I will be getting a B2601 within the next year and will be taking a lot of your advice.
I have the same tractor and backhoe - it is not a full sized Cat but it will do a lot of work - the only issue I have is the lack of a full 180 degree swing on the backhoe and the limited boom and dipper length as you have to reposition a lot but that said it will dig and pull! It efficient for trench work.
I agree ,without the 180° of side swing,it can't get the dirt out of the ditch or move other materials out of the way for sorting with only the 140-150°s of capability is Realy reduced to 70% efficiency of a 180° swing unit, plus the POWER LOSE of only One measely swing cylinder. I could Realy use 20° more swing on my 180° Bh92. It has Tremendous side swing power and speed when "Side-swipe " grading.
@@donaldstrishock3923The really annoying bit is that the BX has a 180 degree backhoe swing - but even though the B2601 does not have the 180 degrees I would not have a machine without a backhoe and a thumb - mine has paid for itself over and over again. Kubota should offer the option of rear facing work lights on the ROPS and the boom for those of us who like to work late.
@@gregorymacneil2836 l liked your hydraulic thumb rigging in the past; That was a Very FINE upgrade-modification. The BX23 does NOT have 180° of swing ;... two of my buddy's have them& they "gots only 150° of side swing ABSOLUTELY. Nearly; yes IMPOSIBLE to have 180° side-swing with only one cylinder without chains being involved. Your going to have to "look into" that one again.l'm 99.9998% shure on this one.
@@donaldstrishock3923You’re right on the BX Backhoe swing - it’s only 140 degrees according to the Kubota website. When I was debating the BX and the B2601 the salesperson told me the BX was 180 - glad I did not go there. I must say that since 2015 the price of a BX TLB has inflated - bit shocking actually.
We're did you get your new Patio Stones? We have the same Stone and can not find them. As we installed then in 2014. We are looking to expand ours like you.

"After. you have it, you'll use it a lot." This is a very true statement!
For sure 👍

I purchased them at Rossow Home Hardware Building center. I hope that helps and good luck with your project!
