I have watched several videos on checking glucose and all mentioned the ear to get the blood but the skin is so thick, it was so hard to get and he didn't like it. We had such a headache. Then I found your video, tried on elbow, and worked great!!! Thank you so much for this!!
Most useful video I've found!! Thank you for the detailed elbow callous info. I have a large dog and was wondering. I think that will be a perfect place. Thank you
My furbaby was diagnosed in may and just had cataract surgery it’s been a nonstop vet & ophthalmologist appts and I just got a monitor its a little daunting but I appreciate your video it really put me at ease and taught me so much ♥️
We just switched as well.. I was planning to make a video but my boys allergies are going nuts again so we have to wait until is vet appointment. And what would you like to see for a curve? Just the whole process of how I do it at home?
Also, the control solution is just to make sure the device works.. so when you use it on a test strip it should be in a normal range. I use it at least once when I buy new testing strips to make sure it’s still working but you can use it whenever you feel the machine is off. It’s just to make sure that the strips and machine are working together.
Appreciate this video gave me some ideas my dog just turned into a diabetic for now I'm using the 14 day freestyle Libre and I'm thinking about getting one of these cuz I'm not entirely comfortable not knowing whether or not it's 100% accurate. It's just so expensive for any of these things plus the diabetic foods crazy!
Just a heads up, I think they discontinued this brand because we haven’t been able to find it. I think they came out with alpha track 3.. which is EXPENSIVE. So we bought the one of Amazon it’s a red tester. I was going to do a video on that one too but that one has worked good and is cheaper! I just didn’t want you to buy something that is discontinued😩☺️
Nice video, I diagnosed with T1 and use the FreeStyle Libre sensor with Blucon transmitter, I track blood glucose readings on watch and phone constantly and the phone gives alarm notifications when the glucose is out of range.
awwwww he is soooo adorable...hurts my soul to hear he has diabetes my fur daughter a kitty towards the end of her life had diabetes was so rough on us and I could imagine her omg this is making me cry...brings back so many memories..
I need loads of help with BG Testing! I was in tears as the Dog Pen that came with our New PetTest Advocate Kit just was not drawing blood for me? I'm not sure if I was afraid of pressing Maxi's skin into the pen thinking I was gonna stick myself, plus Maxi has Anxiety and was feeling my Depression she kept trying to run away from me😢 I ended up using the lancet and picking Maxi's ear, I felt so bad about myself but we got a read 233. But we need to Blood test tonight before and after she eats. How long after they eat should I test? I need HELP
I completely understand! I BALLED my eyes out when he was first diagnosed. I was so confused and then I felt guilty for hurting him. Join the diabetic dog groups on facebook. I’m in about 3 of them and they help me soooo much. Anytime you need something, post it on there and they will answer super quick. I usually test within the hour.. because you want to give the shot within the hour. So I’ll test at about 30 to 45 minutes after he eats just so I know the food has digested a little before I give him insulin.
Has anyone ever had to test an aggressive dog? I’m trying to help test one. It takes two of us, one to muzzle and careful hold the head, and one to test the paw or ear. I have not seen an elbow tested, so that’s something I’ll try. But any advice would be very helpful.
Yes. The strip is good for one test. Ur suppose to use a new lancet everytime. I can every 2 times its just bc dry blood can b on the needle n not be accurate

What's control solution for and how do I use it and when?

How is this kit different from human kits?
Helpful thanks
The "prickers" are lancets ;).
What r acceptable #s for a diabetic dog? What about non diabetic dog?
How many times can you use the lancet needle and test strip?
Do I need to change the strip each time after a read?
