I somehow feel Simon gets his thinking mixed up between what he's learnt as an angler and what he knows as a scientist/breeder. Carp won't always go for the most abundant food source or they'd be caught on big beds of bait all the time. Also there is zero chance a carp knows what tackle is. It may well be able to see it but it does not possess a brain that can connect the 2. Bait is the only thing they can be wary of as it is the only thing it knows of during getting caught. This backs up my previous comment about food abundance. A carp will almost always eat naturals instead of bait. Those times when the carp are going mad over your bait but you can't get a bite us almost certainly due to the bait attracting natural food to the area and that is what the carp are feeding on.
Yes, his idea that carp in the wild go to deeper water at night seems to contradict everything said in the fishing literature, which has them in the shallows at night and retreating to deeper water on brighter days.
Wish we could go back 30 odd years, so the mystery of carp fishing was a thing, when anglers learnt by actually spending time on the bank not being told how to do everything by watching dvds and now the internet.
Im 52,when I was a kid I used to walk around the lakes before I finished it, there is a rig I fish and still use it to this day, I don't watch these videos much I like to do my homework first
Ahh you are one of those "well i can't understand why so no one else can" kind of people, the kind of people that didn't believe Covid was real so ignored all the advice. There are many decades of research on fish behaviour so those who work in the field have seen and documented it. All because you may use guess work doesn't mean others do.
@@IntrinsicPalomides what a shit comment. I was working on fish farms whilst these guys were in nappies! As for any COVID reference, you haven’t a clue about me.
Simon is such a fascinating guy to listen to. You can tell by his expressions that he absolutely loves nature, carp and fishing.
Such a legend in the watercraft game.his knowledge is beyond anyone else on the lake.
Very knowledgeable! 🙌 Thank you Simon for the useful information! 🎣
They go to the carp ark 😂
