When I play STO my mind is ''haha laser go pew pew''. This guy sees STO like Neo at the end of the first Matrix movie :D

I had been looking at Fractal on an energy weapon based tank before this video and the full build was posted. The build helped in filling out some of the gaps in terms of hull gain (like the Cyclone trait and That's a Big Ship). I still feel like the build is missing something, may post it in the builds discord but it was nice seeing something on a similar path.

Feel free to reach out if you have specific questions! Took me a while to get the balance right on the Justiciar, and now its quite fun to fly.

It is fun to play a bleed build. Got a number of ideas from this video. Bit sad that the high numbers rely on a teammate buffs.
Overall interesting enough to start following the channel.

There's really very few Hull Capacity bonuses that rely on having a teammate, but it is way harder to do this solo for the pets to attack. If I did this on an Engineer captain, I wouldn't have any reason to require a teammate. I only got 15% hull from my teammate, the rest was something I could have done on an Engineering captain. As far as the Justiciar DPS build, overall team composition will greatly affect damage output, but regardless the Justiciar is a solid platform for PUG in any content as it is survivable, high damage output, and even will tank if needed. Its a favorite of mine for Random TFOs.

Very cool. I like builds like this.. my odd build isn't so much a combat thing but my test ship can reach 900+ movement speed.

Have you seen the T6 Obelisk specs? 1.65 hull mod (tied for third highest hull), full Commander Command and lt. Comm MW. I have no idea why you'd want MW on a 3/3 carrier, but 1.65 hull and Command too, it almost seems like it was made with this video as a guide. I have no idea what I'd do with other than that, but its console will likely get stripped for my AP builds for the two-set and possibly carrier builds for the three-set.

Actually, saw the stats on it and did some math: it has a higher hull potential than the Vedcrid, but gonna be a month before I even have it.

@@stobetter Yeah, I wouldn't rush it since it takes Lobi to buyout. Just kinda bemusing that it seems almost made to do this.

I sure wish you guys had a Discord Server... I would love to try replicating some of your builds (close at least) and joining you in some runs.

We've talked about a Discord, and very quickly decided we don't need another tool to maintain. r/stobuilds already has a pretty big discord. You can always reach out through out site if you have specific questions!

Now I'm even more annoyed that the Sarcophagus Dreadnought Carrier only has an Ensign Miracle Worker ability slot. It's 1.675 Hull Mod, so second place in Hull Mod IIRC currently, and was first place when I got it... which was the only thing particularly good about it back then.

It's still a solid platform as the Command far outweighs the Miracle Worker seating. Not sure if it can beat my Princeton, but if you have it, you sure could try. If someone has nothing on the roster, Fleet Buran at Fleet cost, Princeton at CStore cost, and Vedcrid at promo/lockbox cost are the best, but there are certainly other options.

    "1.7 is a clear winner"
Math to the back that up relative to all other options?

You bet! All Hull Capacity scales off of the Hull Mod (and Adaptive Tactical Algorithms). Since the Vedcrid is also Command, it can pick up Adaptive Tactical Algorithms - Command so it's effective hull mod is 1.2 x 1.7 = 2.04 effective hull mod. Using the wiki and a spreadsheet of every other ship in the game, 1.7 is the highest hull mod in the game, so every other ship will be starting from behind. The next ship with Miracle Worker and Command seating is the Princeton with 1.45 x 1.2 (ATA again) = 1.74 effective hull mod. To save a giant list, I have around 750% Hull Capacity from various sources. Even if we go with 700%, the Vedcrid has 734k hull [(1+700%)x(1.2x1.7)x45,000=734,400]. This same 700% on the Princeton is 626,400 hull. We would need 140% additional hull capacity over the Vedcrid for a total of 840% Hull Capacity. Starship traits, personal traits, DOffs, BOffs are all the same. Weapon slots, console slots, and BOff powers are the only thing that could be different, and even then, it's only a difference of around (1.5+14.4+50) 65.9%, a solid 70%+ off of our target. Going with a MW-Commander ship only gets a 1.55 Hull Mod and no Adaptive Tactical Algorithms, so 558k hull and a difference of 253% Hull Capacity off the Vedcrid.
On a surface level, having both the highest hull mod in the game and access to Adaptive Tactical Algorithms makes it the clear winner. It'd be a bit harder math if there was a hull mod closer to the Vedcrid or it didn't have access to Adaptive Tactical Algorithms. As it stands, its a solid 0.15 hull mod higher than the next highest ship with Miracle Worker seating, the only piece it lacks, but the ~60% Hull Capacity difference doesn't compensate for the large drop in hull mod.

    Will this work in pvp?

    • @stobetter
      @stobetter  3 місяці тому

No idea for PvP, that's a realm we don't dabble in. From a math perspective, since Fractal Integrity Bleed respects resistances, if they are running 95%+ resistances, Fractal Integrity Bleed will be a mere tickle to them, but still doing 8% of your hull to you. Seems like a bad idea, but again, I don't know PvP. Maybe there's some sneak attack technique I don't know about.
