List Of Indian Air Force‘s Fighter Aircrafts - Past, Present & Future
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces. Its complement of personnel and aircraft assets ranks fourth amongst the air forces of the world.[9] Its primary mission is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during armed conflict. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire which honoured India's aviation service during World War II with the prefix Royal.[10] After India gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1947, the name Royal Indian Air Force was kept and served in the name of Dominion of India. With the government's transition to a Republic in 1950, the prefix Royal was removed.

Great to see the older aircraft of the Indian Air Forcei think the I think the Mystere was called the Toofani and I remember the Vampire when it was based at Tambaram Air Force Station where I lived very close to the Air base and my Father was connected to the Air Force Station as a contractor after retiring from Southern Railway . World..... U mean USA???... Listen the world has more than 200 countries and only USA has managed to make 5th gen fighters.. Russia is still struggling and I can say anything about china(paper plane) so if India even has a timeline for development of 5th gen fighter its a positive point.... And about 6th gen fighter countries such as uk and Japan r still thinking about the funding forget about the timeline and development... Be positive it's better late than never... Ik bureaucracy to be blamed but we r making efforts... Look around the world they r still dependent on US f - 15 , 16,18,etc and Russian migs but we have 4.5 gen fighters and we have development on 5th .... Being in top 5 airforces around the is not a small thing... Dream... Believe... Achieve...

MMRCA 2.0 will never happen. Just like the first MMRCA. It would be better to just give repeated order of 36 Rafale and then fully focused on Tejas mk2 for medium weight category aircraft. Rafale in MMRCA will bankrupt indian airforce bcz of its cost.
