My Tease SBH-HD arrived yesterday. I can’t overstate how happy I am with it. The fit, finish and setup are perfect. Neck feels great and plays beautifully. Pickups sound really good. The quality for the price (or even double or triple) is astounding. I will definitely be buying another Tease soon. Great company to deal with.

I'm not into Chinese guitars BUT on July 4th, I seen another review and I went to the website and at 10 PM I sent a message to the company and Torsten responded to me within 5 minutes...I read and contacted Torsten and his outlook on customer service is what got me. That night I ordered the same guitar. Since I live about a hour from Tease I drove there because I wanted to meet Torsten and I got there and he was working on a purple SBH and it looks better in person. So I played my black one and purple guitar, which I bought. I spent about 2 hours and I will get another guitar. Both guitars are great, color, neck is great, I could slide my hand up and down no problem. Learning how to navigate the humbucker. It's weight 8 lb , a little heavier than my 🇺🇸 strat. I really like these guitars, which is a good surprise for me ‼️

Hi yomomma…it’s a pretty rare finish these days…especially on a Tele. The 4 way is a pretty easy mod…I suppose having the option to run both pups in series coming “Stock” would be interesting. Another tone option…. Thanks again for stopping in my friend…👍
WOW! Congratulations on being noticed by someone like that, Jimmy! I’ve never heard of Torsten or Tease Guitars either, but it sounds like an interesting company, with a business model that sounds very similar to Firefly, but with a far more personal touch. My thoughts: 1) Odin looks like a KING, the way he sat so regally there at the end of your “B-roll!” He looks like golden royalty, and he obviously loves your new guitar days! 😂 2) This guitar doesn’t seem as fancy or ambitious as some of the recent Firefly FFTL models-e.g., no roasted woods, SS frets, or comfort cuts… It seems like it is aiming more for simple but solid, with some good quality hardware! (E.g., CTS pots, and above average bridge and pickups.) 3) That bridge humbucker actually sounds really good! Not quite a traditional Tele sound, but a good character of its own. It also clearly balances VERY well with that single coil neck pickup, which is a bit surprising. 4) This seems like yet another possibility in my search for a PERFECT Tele… If only it came in other colors, like a red-burst (like the Monoprice Indio Cali DLX, for example).

He rules the roost…😻. The current line up from Tease is simple…Strats and Tele’s basically. Their customer service, pro setup and attention to detail along with providing a well thought out build is the focus. They already have plans on some new models for Spring, so we shall see. I keep searching the Tele’s for ya…😎

That’s a cool little progression you were playing at the beginning of the sound/tone check. Then of course roadhouse blues was cool too. Nice tele for $250. Tease guitars are bringing a better instrument at this price point with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I Had a question about the telecaster model and in 2 minutes I was texting with the owner of the company! This is unheard of today at any price point. Great video and excellent guitar and customer service. Also the electronics on these guitars are much higher quality. Using shielding full pots and better resistors. Can't beat the Tease guitars at this price point. Stay well my friend and have a Superb 2024.
Very nicely done Tease Guitars! Just what beginners and hobbyists need: value for money, good setup, and quality components that make it to start playing right out of the box without issues that discourage new players from sticking with it. The only things that might be helpful are perhaps rounded off edges for comfort and a variable radius neck with a rounder radius where the cowboy chords are played so that beginners don’t have to stretch their fingers so much or press so hard when learning to make those first open chords. Well done!

Great video as always Jimmy. How do the tone and volume knobs feel. Do they have a nice quality feel with nice resistance and do they adjust the volume and control nicely? Speaking of sparkle, I just picked up a 2016 Gretsch Electromatic silver sparkle. Bulky sizedlike a Les Paul, but itschambered basswood body keeps it light weight. Cheers!

From Leo: I'm glad you hosted this brand. The specification list is tasteful and I really like the SIlverburst. The 12" radius neck is usually difficult to find on a Tele. Sounds like a great value. They picked the right man to demo it, it sounds great.

Yes, 12” neck radius is why I play a USA Peavey Tele from a few decades back, best deal on the used market in my opinion. I upgraded the pickups, wiring, & hardware, & I’d consequently put it up against any Fender👌
The sounds are great. Each of the three pickup positions has a specific tonal representation that answers the question of "why another T-style?" And, at $249, that's a sound combo worth chasing for your collection. The sounds are very specific to that guitar with the bridge only slightly reminding me of that Gretsch Duo Jet that you had sitting next to it. Good luck to Torsten and Tease. Wow coming with shorter saddle screws is an incredible attention to detail and a lovely addition. I cant tell you how many times I've purchased smaller saddle screws for my teles and strats over the years because im a heavy palm muter!! Constantly shaving my hand after a show especially haha.

@@JimmyStewart1 Haha! I am a hypocrite! As I was posting that comment, I had my new Firefly Mad Cat on my lap at work, doing an intonation! I did like how the SB played. It was a Guitar Center limited edition, but have been trying to keep my collection in check. I have a MIM ash Tele (also an FSR from GC) which made the SB redundant for me. Collection usually hovers around 12 (total guitars).

@@JimmyStewart1 I sold off most of my collection in the last couple of years. I'm not a great player, so I feel like the fewer options to fidget, the more I will focus on learning to play better. Only keeping the guitars that speak to me. Part of it is that we have a 2-year-old, and don't have as much time to play, and I just can't leave guitars around the house like I used to.

Didn’t open it up to look under the hood in this video (was running a bit long already) but will do when I do to restring and fine tune the setup for my personal preference. Sounds nice to me man!!! Dig the color. The Low e looked a hair off center like the neck may have shifted slightly which is an easy fix unless that was a trick of the camera angle. Id rather that e be close to edge than the high e hahahah

Hi Jimmy…yeah a extra set of bridge saddle pins (height adjustment screws) shorties so that the top of the screw will be down in the saddle and you won’t feel them with your palm.

Plays/sounds just fine though…common issue with Tele’s. I will double check neck pocket position when I go to restring it. Yeah…killer Gibby from the “days of ‘ore”….one of a few I let get away when I was young and foolish….took me till the mid 80’s before I stopped selling/trading guitars. Now….well I have been thinking about “thinning the herd” once again, but know I will probably regret it…

Some manufacturers simply drop the instrument in a box and send it. How it is prepared for shipment and received by the customer can say a lot about the company you are buying from. I tend to go into details and try to have a bit of fun when doing so…a lot of “real guitar players” have a sense of humor as well…😎 Hopefully, if the video is watched in its entirety, the guitar and the experience of receiving it and actually playing it “right out of the box” is represented as closely and honestly as possible. No pre/post sound editing and tweaking to enhance anything. I will continue to let the other reviewers do the “MTV” style quick cut, DAW processed sound infomercials. WOW! Congratulations on being noticed by someone like that, Jimmy! I’ve never heard of Torsten or Tease Guitars either, but it sounds like an interesting company, with a business model that sounds very similar to Firefly, but with a far more personal touch. My thoughts:
1) Odin looks like a KING, the way he sat so regally there at the end of your “B-roll!” He looks like golden royalty, and he obviously loves your new guitar days! 😂
2) This guitar doesn’t seem as fancy or ambitious as some of the recent Firefly FFTL models-e.g., no roasted woods, SS frets, or comfort cuts… It seems like it is aiming more for simple but solid, with some good quality hardware! (E.g., CTS pots, and above average bridge and pickups.)
3) That bridge humbucker actually sounds really good! Not quite a traditional Tele sound, but a good character of its own. It also clearly balances VERY well with that single coil neck pickup, which is a bit surprising.
4) This seems like yet another possibility in my search for a PERFECT Tele… If only it came in other colors, like a red-burst (like the Monoprice Indio Cali DLX, for example).

He rules the roost…😻. The current line up from Tease is simple…Strats and Tele’s basically. Their customer service, pro setup and attention to detail along with providing a well thought out build is the focus. They already have plans on some new models for Spring, so we shall see. I keep searching the Tele’s for ya…😎

That’s a cool little progression you were playing at the beginning of the sound/tone check. Then of course roadhouse blues was cool too. Nice tele for $250. Not a fan of silver burst myself but they did a good job on the finish.

Tease guitars are bringing a better instrument at this price point with EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I Had a question about the telecaster model and in 2 minutes I was texting with the owner of the company! This is unheard of today at any price point. Great video and excellent guitar and customer service. Also the electronics on these guitars are much higher quality. Using shielding full pots and better resistors. Can't beat the Tease guitars at this price point. Stay well my friend and have a Superb 2024.

Very nicely done Tease Guitars! Just what beginners and hobbyists need: value for money, good setup, and quality components that make it to start playing right out of the box without issues that discourage new players from sticking with it. The only things that might be helpful are perhaps rounded off edges for comfort and a variable radius neck with a rounder radius where the cowboy chords are played so that beginners don’t have to stretch their fingers so much or press so hard when learning to make those first open chords. Great video as always Jimmy. How do the tone and volume knobs feel. Do they have a nice quality feel with nice resistance and do they adjust the volume and control nicely? Speaking of sparkle, I just picked up a 2016 Gretsch Electromatic silver sparkle. Bulky sizedlike a Les Paul, but itschambered basswood body keeps it light weight. Cheers!

Yes, 12” neck radius is why I play a USA Peavey Tele from a few decades back, best deal on the used market in my opinion. I upgraded the pickups, wiring, & hardware, & I’d consequently put it up against any Fender👌

The sounds are great. Each of the three pickup positions has a specific tonal representation that answers the question of "why another T-style?" And, at $249, that's a sound combo worth chasing for your collection. The sounds are very specific to that guitar with the bridge only slightly reminding me of that Gretsch Duo Jet that you had sitting next to it. Good luck to Torsten and Tease.

Wow coming with shorter saddle screws is an incredible attention to detail and a lovely addition. I cant tell you how many times I've purchased smaller saddle screws for my teles and strats over the years because im a heavy palm muter!! Constantly shaving my hand after a show especially haha.

That’s a great looking guitar and a Tele with a dual rail bridge pu . I am wondering if the neck pu is really as close to the neck or it just looks like it is? As always you were pushing out some great tunes and thanks for sharing.

@@JimmyStewart1 Haha! I am a hypocrite! As I was posting that comment, I had my new Firefly Mad Cat on my lap at work, doing an intonation! I did like how the SB played. It was a Guitar Center limited edition, but have been trying to keep my collection in check. I have a MIM ash Tele (also an FSR from GC) which made the SB redundant for me. Collection usually hovers around 12 (total guitars).

@@JimmyStewart1 I sold off most of my collection in the last couple of years. I'm not a great player, so I feel like the fewer options to fidget, the more I will focus on learning to play better. Only keeping the guitars that speak to me. Part of it is that we have a 2-year-old, and don't have as much time to play, and I just can't leave guitars around the house like I used to.
Cannot tell much about it until we see the specs and the brand of parts used.

Didn’t open it up to look under the hood in this video (was running a bit long already) but will do when I do to restring and fine tune the setup for my personal preference. Sounds nice to me man!!! Dig the color. The Low e looked a hair off center like the neck may have shifted slightly which is an easy fix unless that was a trick of the camera angle. Id rather that e be close to edge than the high e hahahah

Paying a little more for good hardware and electronics on a budget instrument is money well spent IMO and an in house set-up to boot!

I’m a beginner who bought a Strat yesterday.
On further inspection on some videos, I think I prefer the tone of a Tele over the tone of a Strat.

An extra set of bridge pins??
Hi Jimmy…yeah a extra set of bridge saddle pins (height adjustment screws)
shorties so that the top of the screw will be down in the saddle and you won’t feel them with your palm.
Nice looking tele...But looks like the low E string is a little closer to the left towards the fingerboard near the bridge...Nice Guitar though

Plays/sounds just fine though…common issue with Tele’s. I will double check neck pocket position when I go to restring it. Neck does not seem to be aligned properly, low E string close to the edge of the fretboard.

Hi Ron…appreciate your stopping in. When I do reviews and demo’s (especially for budget instruments) I think packaging is an important element. Some manufacturers simply drop the instrument in a box and send it. How it is prepared for shipment and received by the customer can say a lot about the company you are buying from. I tend to go into details and try to have a bit of fun when doing so…a lot of “real guitar players” have a sense of humor as well…😎
Hopefully, if the video is watched in its entirety, the guitar and the experience of receiving it and actually playing it “right out of the box” is represented as closely and honestly as possible. No pre/post sound editing and tweaking to enhance anything. I will continue to let the other reviewers do the “MTV” style quick cut, DAW processed sound infomercials.
