Hi James. I have a question regarding the paper you published on acid load balance. At the end of the paper, you show an example of acid load on a typical carnivore diet. My question is this: why does the diet of a carnivore diet vary between 200 and 200 mEq of acid per day? If it's 2 pounds of beef and 6 eggs, shouldn't that always be 211 mEq of acid no matter what? 23.4*6 (eggs) + (7.8 / 99.22 * (453*2)) = 211.62 mEq of acid per day. How can it be between 200 and 220 mEq? Thanks
But do any of the studies that you say show a High animal-based diet is acidic to the kidneys include anyone on a strictly carnivore diet? Because removing the antagonistic carbohydrates and sugar should result in the kidneys functioning much more effectively
I Just got your book " the salt fix" and find it ❤ (better than Words).I know every Word on it is absolutly truth. Just one thing I find baffing : the use of the term "sodium " when refering to salt, they are not the same, salt is not a mixture is a chemical compaund with an ionoc bond, and thus sodium is not present on it in its free form , it isn't made by putting Na and Cl on mixer. For rest of the book 10/10

Good day Dr. James!! What options are there for diabetics to reduce their acidic state of the body. Will eating a complete vegetarian diet help to offset the acidic state of diabetics or will a fruit diet achieve the same result?

Sodium Citrate is in citrus fruits, so I'm thinking drinking lemon water or eating an orange can be great. Also, apples are the best source of malic acid, so just eat that. I always prefer the whole, natural food versus a supplement. 🙂
Per Siim Land, one of James’ co-authors, magnesium citrate isn’t absorbed nearly as well as other forms. Apparently magnesium glycinate (which I take) and magnesium malate are best. Glycinate is great for sleep and it’s calming effect, malate is a great help with muscle soreness/recovery. In terms of pH and based on what James has said in the past, either getting some baking soda in you, drinking mineral water, or pairing potatoes with your red meat is best
Appreciate Dr.D teaching and greatful for his works and knowledge but our body need more salt (unrefined whole salt) Once you take care of this issue by drinking solé twice a day and add good salt to your food, everything will fall into place. We can’t eat perfect it is impossible to follow any diet and heal the body (the root cause) the only way is to consume electrolyte and trace minerals only found in whole salt (eat good protein is important) but first most important is drinking solé and using whole salt in food 💙🌊 you can’t win without whole salt Salt, is a good gift from God ✝️ It is a common grace to human Thank you Dr.D
It´s the opposite, lactic acid depends of piruvic acid that means that it´s a subproduct from anaerobic glucolisis. So if you have a low carb diet the most intelligent thing it´s to do low carb depending activities such as strenght training, maybe low intensity steady state cardio such as walking, biking and swimming (this last one only if you are with a good fitness level if not you will burn mostly glucose), yoga, maybe speed training like 3 to 10 second sprints with full recovery between sets (60-240/300 seconds). Because if you do activities such as crossfit, 400/800 meter sprints, bodybuilding with a low carb diet you will feel very tired, your recovery will be slower and you can increase the rate of injuries because of the fatigue and the lack of "fuel" (like glucose in high intensity activities such as tennis, soccer, rugby, crossfit, etc).
Doc what do you think about the constant soaking of ones feet in water with lots of sodium bicarbonate at night while watching TV We absorb the bicarbonate like this correct ? Certainly feels to me like I do Thanks in advance
Acid food animal food and grain so balanced it with citrate acid in fruit and vegetables or alkaline water sodium citrate 1gm tp wgm with animal food sodium bicarbonate Meat 8 ounce then eat vegetable more then that Exercise is gud Thiamine for vomiting diareha
I just bought a package of Redmond's salt upon your recommendation and I am really mad. Right on the package it says it has NO iodide, NO calcium, NO potassium. You said in an interview with Dr. Ken Berry that this salt had a great mineral profile. WTF am I consuming except just sodium? The only way to get more minerals that you talked about is to buy Redmond's other electrolyte products which are really expensive. You obviously did not even read the package label before recommending. Or do you have a financial interest in Redmond's?
That's because Redmond doesn't artificially add potassium iodide so they have to say that per the FDA. Based on their mineral analysis their real salt has around 170 mcg of iodine per 10 grams of salt (not iodide)

What about Uric acid? What is the best way to get the kidneys to eliminate it without reabsorption?

We eat 80-95% animal-based diet
@@jesusharvestlife not everyone does that, including vegans/vegetarians.
So when urine smells like ammonia, this could mean bicarbonate storages is depleated and ph is too low/acidic?

The Lethal Dose of sodium bicarbonate is 4.25 grams. Can you speak to that after your recommendation of 2 grams per meal?
I think he said sodium citrate, not bicarbonate
Very informative Dr. James, I learned a lot from your videos! Keep up ... Thanks!
You should not alkalize stomach acid
Agree 🎉
Can you take magnesium citrate as a suplement instead of sodium citrate? Thanks for the video
I drink solé (soaking rock salt) I get all the magnesium from it

You bet it does and low carb diets result in more lactic acid production.
