    Dear people, the paddle-like appendages on the ends of Champ's/Nessie's legs are not "FINS", they are "FLIPPERS".
    Fins are a different thing altogether, assisting in guidance and direction, and not in the production of forward movement and locomotion. So there.

    A thought just struck.... sightings seem to be in still water and not much "interference". I would say to catch HD pictures of the thing, Cameras must be attached to specific positions in the lake with highest range of view, some floating some submerged but none must emit any radiation. It seems the species is sensitive to presence and has heightened senses on it's body to detect radiations. Hence it seems this "evasion", speed and "knowing" the time to surface is result of evolution over millennia and directly linked to the K-Pg extinction event.
    A workable hypothesis is the evolution has allowed the species, whatever it is ( I just refrain at the moment from calling it a Plesiosaur) to avoid the impact first, radiation, debris, high temperatures and lot of other factors that were present in the extinction event and the entire period of it. It is not unnatural for a marine mammal or animal to adapt to these conditions and go deep underwater for survival. These traits seem to resonate with these observations now. However the loose hypothesis I have presented is just links the creature back to the Cretaceous period which too is unlikely ..... but it's behaviour often gives it's traits out. Mightbe worth a try !

      The reason sightings most often take place when the surface is flat is because it allows minor disturbances to look deceptively larger than they would otherwise look, like boat wakes, waterfowl, otters, swimming deer, etc. This has been known since the 1960s as it pertains, of course, to Loch Ness (and all other large bodies of water where people are expecting to see monsters). It is difficult if not impossible to distinguish the size of something when there is little information to judge _distance._ On a calm, glassy surface of a lake, it is harder to judge distances because a common frame of reference-waves-are not there.

    It seems when there is construction around the lake. Just like in Scotland lochness when they built the road around it and here and lake Champaign the building of the railroad steam ships and bridges I truly believe there are cave cavers in the hills around these lakes

    I want to believe this and the echolocation is convincing but how is it that not a single carcass was discovered?!

    • @jerrylee3176
      @jerrylee3176 5 років тому +5

      This is a huge lake with a very long shoreline and great depths. And perhaps these beasts live a very long time, as some reptiles are known to. Still, the hope is that a carcass will someday be located. My question is, with the just about everyone carrying a cellphone these days, and now even drones, why don't we have more photographic evidence? I believe they are there... Is it that they are nocturnal? Satellites easily pick up pictures of cars, so it seems that something of this size might also be visible from space. There's lots of reasons to believe, and still plenty of reasons to doubt, too. Yes, the echolocation audio is one compelling reason to hope they are real.

      I think when they die they sink to the bottom and the lake is over 400 feet deep in spots. That's just what I think happens if these animals are real. They say the same thing about Bigfoot. Why hasn't a carcass turned up ? I think that they bury their dead to just so we don't find them and I think they bury them deeper than 6 feet deep, possibly 10 feet deep or more. I do hope we either find an alive one or maybe a dead one on the bottom and we find that one with a little submarine.

    "On the Trail of a Myth!" Listen to a paleontologist weigh-in on this fun subject then dunk yer head in ice-water - that should straighten you out on your need for this particular mystery in your life. Life itself is mystery enough is it not? Just do the scientific math on what a prehistoric creature the size of a Plesiosaur requires in regards to diet, perpetuation of the species, etc., not to mention the FACT that the Great Lakes didn't form until millions of years after the dinos went extinct. Put all that math together in your head and pick another 'monster' to get excited about, yes? Hey IF Champ is a reality cool! But to date there is too little real evidence, and too much scientific fact that doesn't add up to Champ as an in--the-flesh reality. Great for generating income for the locals though!
