    Thanks so much for the info! 2 questions- (1)-Any idea what chemicals are in the Silk Balance(?) I currently started using Borates in pool and figured why not use in the spa too. Working to figure out best 'add-ons' for spa. I tried using AquaFinese in the past. It made the water feel great but was a major pain to keep water clear and expensive so stopped using it. (2) Any issues with the Bright & Clear with the Microclean 2 part filter or do you change it more often? In the past, if I use the Bright and Clear regularly it seems to clog the filters sooner (get flow issues), so I stopped using or put the a one part Microclean 2 filter in and use it for a few days after using Bright and Clear and then switch back to regular filter. Thanks!

      Good afternoon, SilkBalance is a patented formula but I have personal experience with it and I have nothing but good things to say besides the expense. The product is a little pricey but worth it in my opinion. My customers say the same thing. The trick to Bright & Clear is the amount being added. Bright & Clear is strong stuff so a small amount goes a long way. I have a micro filter as well and I don't have any issues. Are you sure it was the Bright & Clear? I find that customers tighten the filter nut to tight and it creates intermittent flow issues. Hope this helps!

    How do you feel about the various enzyme products?

    • @atlantahottubcenter
      @atlantahottubcenter  11 місяців тому

      Good evening, enzyme products aren't bad but are harder to keep in balance. You will spend more time maintaining it. I would suggest keeping chlorine levels a little lower and shocking after use. I have found most people go overboard with chlorine and so it's not as inviting or enjoyable. I maintain my hot tub with the @ease system at 1ppm. Prior to the @ease I maintained at 1.5-2ppm and added chlorine twice a week. Hope this helps!

      @@atlantahottubcenter thank you! My problem is in trying to keep my chlorine that low I end up with no chlorine too often. I add about 2 oz of 10% chlorine each night after my wife and I get out. Then I check it the next morning and it may be 4 ppm or 1 ppm or sometimes 0 ppm. pH, TA, CH are all good. It’s just so frustrating trying to “maintain” a lower pH. I have a 3 month old tub that was purged with AhhSome. Maybe I gotta go FROG. 🐸

      @@Gebomartin215 Good afternoon, yes it's very difficult without some type of drip type system like the @ease system to keep the chemical levels low. You do have to go out quite often to add just a little bit. However, this would be the only way unless you change systems. Hope this helps!

    Shock Oxidizer - Do I need to run the pumps after putting this in? For the record, I did notice a difference after the first day with Silk Balance

    • @atlantahottubcenter
      @atlantahottubcenter  Рік тому +1

      Good morning, I suggest running the pumps for a minute or two with the cover off after adding shock. This will have a faster effect on the water chemistry then letting it just sit and dissolve. I love SilkBalance as well, it's good stuff! Hope this helps!

      @@atlantahottubcenter - You state not to run the pumps after adding Free and Clear, this is different than what is recommended by the manufacturer. Why the difference? Just ordered the 4 month supply of Silk Balance.

      @@dennislawrence9740 Good afternoon, all the writing on the back of these chemical bottles isn't always the right way to do it in my opinion. If you slow the process down and don't run the jets you avoid the mess and foam that comes along with the bright and clear product. Hope this helps!

      @@dennislawrence9740 Good afternoon, I totally get it. The manufacturers are giving their recommendation on how to use a particular chemical or product and their recommendations do work but that doesn't always mean it's the best way if that makes since. I consider the recommandation more of a guideline and opinion. Hope this helps!

    I know there are lots of opinions on this but I want yours. I trust you.
    Why do you use MPS to shock vs chlorine? Does it have something to do with your using the frog system? I thought that using it really messed with your chlorine testing???

    • @atlantahottubcenter
      @atlantahottubcenter  11 місяців тому +1

      Good afternoon, oxidizer or mps a non-chlorine shock, breaks down the chloramines which is the waste from the chlorine. Oxidizer also has many other benefits such as breaking down organic contaminants. Chlorine and oxidizer are two different things. Hope this helps!
