A diesel pump will not fit into my gas tank port. Most times the nozzle to diesel is bigger than a gas nozzle. Most times it will prevent mixing up the two. It may only be a Michigan thing but I know there is a difference in size. So see. ..size does matter lol!!! Try the B.B.B. to see if that particular gas company had any complaints around the same time you did. Or call them and record your call and ask them if anyone else complained about bad gas the same time as your mishap. Good luck and safe travels 😊
It seems having all 3 stations checked is the way to go. It seems it may be that their underground tank was filled wrong. I'd also check the recent 'yelps' on those stations, if they are dispensing gasoline instead of diesel someone else may have posted something, most 'locals' are certain where they get their diesel from! ... Glad you found the silver lining.
WHEW! I'll admit, I was a little generous with my diesel-sniffing driving up 395 the last few days... hopefully didn't kill off too many brain cells. Hope you're doing well!
If you charged your purchase for fuel, and know a range of dates, you can check your receipt date on your statement. Then go to the station or their business office and ask what you were charged for, and ask for a copy of the receipt. Or your bank or credit card company my be able to help you too. Nine hundred ($900) is a lot of money, and I know in Oregon you cannot pump your own gas.
Thanks. I can't go to any one of the three stations (Utah and CA), but I will get to the bottom of this. You're right about gas in OR, but you can pump your own diesel.
Holy Galavan - You did what?!!! You slept where? In a sticks and bricks? Joking. Sorry to hear you incurred a costly repair. Regarding your windshield, there is a company that will come to you but not sure it’s in all states and also, I believe it’s for total windshield replacement. You might list your issue on a site called elliotdotorg www.elliott.org I’m NOT affiliated with the site. They are an advocacy nonprofit that helps with travel type issues. They helped me resolve an Airbnb issue. It was a horrific nightmare. As we are approaching the summer season with lots of travel, everyone needs to know to be aware that some gas stations might switch gas types. This is not to ring the alarm, but simply to make people aware. May your travels be smooth sailing from here on out - FBKwriter
Check your receipts it should tell the dates and the price per gallon. There's a difference between gas and Diesel prices. Each station should be able to tell you what they were selling Diesel for that day
If the insurance doesn’t cover, maybe they can somehow find out which of the three stations had the issue. Thanks would think the station would have to report that to DOT? Anyway, I always worry about gas in the diesel tank a bit also!

Receipt should also indicate which product you bought.
Your auto insurance may be able to give you tips to get a refund
Oh shoot - I just had lunch with my agent on Thursday and didn't even think to ask her!
