  • In this video I walk you through the installation of CX Racing Coilovers for the Lexus IS300. These instructions are similar for most cars, including the GS300, Altezza, IS200, Aristo, and most other Toyota or Lexus models from the early 2000's.

    Thank you for the helpful video. I just acquired some JIC coilovers for my IS300 and want to install them myself. The good news for me is that I'm replacing another set of coilovers already on the car, so I hope and expect it won't be quite as difficult as removing the stock suspension pieces.

    How did the CXs hold up over time? I always hear that BCs are better, but the CXs are more in my price range. Also, what spring rates did you choose? I plan on dailying my IS (no drifting or tracking) with minimal lowering, so I was looking at 12k and 8k (I know, kinda soft)

      @@Adam-FR Adobe Rush. Its basically the mobile version of premier. It's pretty basic and still missing a lot of features, but you can start it on your phone and then put it on the computer, so thats cool.

    Could you post more don’t mind the random content, wouldn’t mind seeing changes of fluid to other sorts of car maintenance such as common problems or really anything in the is300 that we could do ourselves. Not sure how it is in your area but vlogs at car meets would be cool You’re on the road to 10k subscribers little bit of editing and camera work shows!

    Hey are you rubbing with the rpf1’s? And if so what did u do to fix it. I wanna get me some rpf1’s 215/45 17in and 35mm offset to get that perfect flush look 👀

      Sorry, I never saw this. I only rub if I'm gong down a steep driveway with people in the car. It rarely happens when I'm alone in the car, but I run 18's with 255's. You shouldn't have any problems with 17's and 215's.

      They can go up pretty high. I wouldnt worry about not being able to go high enough.

    I heard the clunking sound comes from the upper control arm hitting the strut tower & cx racing is the best

      It will only hit the strut tower if you're pretty low. And that will happen with all coilovers, no matter the brand.

      You can eliminate the clunking with a radial bearing mount. Not sure if CR has that option but the Fortune 500's do for an extra $120.00 ish.

    How did you adjust the front ones after you realized it was too low? What do you have to unbolt to adjust it?

      I should have shown that. You dont have to unbolt anything. Just unlock the collars and turn the bottom of it and it unscrews.

      @@RacecarAndChill Most people will get it, but you actually said it wrong. You can twist the bottom only when it's outside of the car, but when it's installed you have to actually twist the whole upper portion by the threads.

    My driver side shock / strut has just started to creak & I’m thinking of Going with coilovers now & more of a budget build I don’t drift my is300 @ all and drive my daily / not rough at all on my car Do u think Cx racing coilovers worked good for u ? & I love the videos Man I’m in the AzlexusClub & Can tell ur from Az to ‘ keep it up !🙏🏼

      Yessir, I'm a mod on azlexus. The cx coilovers will do you just fine. If you're not gonna slam it, most coilovers will be fine.

      They are enkie rpf1 18x9.5+45 in the rear and 18x9+35 in the front!

      @@gianmarcoaguilar2114 I love these. They go plenty low enough if you're trying to have a functional setup. I dont know if they go super low because I'm not about that life, but they get low enough to tuck tire, which is more than you need unless you're trying to run crazy camber. They ride good, it all depends on the rest of your setup. But I think this is the best value cost/performance out there.

      You can move it if you need to. Just find a good spot to bolt it to.

      They're ok. I think they're a good value for their price. But I would spend a little more for some BC's.

    since you are already there if you just take out the swap bar links the front will drop down enough to get out.

      That helps sometimes, but not always. If both front wheels are in the air, it shouldnt be a problem. But if you only have one side jacked up, the sway bar will definitely fight you, so unbolting it will help big time.

      Are you talking about the nut on the ball joint? Grab a pair of big channel locks and squeeze the arms together. Once it starts getting tight, the stud will stop spinning.

      @@AustinSRT yea thats what im talking about. I dont understand what you mean by the quarter weight. You don't want to put weight on the hub, because that's gonna pull you away from the control arm.

      What coikovers do you have? Theyre all different.. but they could be for abs sensor brackets

      @@RacecarAndChill bc , that's ture didn't think about that. Was wondering if there like drain holes or if they were a marker to not unscrew past there, I dont know how far you can unscrew them apart I've always wondered, like how far is safe to raise versus lowering the car ?

      @@kennyschneider4482 you can max them out in either direction. Just don't mess with the preload if you dont know how to set it right. The preload is the actual spring on the coilover. So don't adjust the collars that are holding the spring in. You can adjust the other ones for the height as much as you want.

    Ridiculous if ur gonna install coilovers then lower it. If not leave the an suspension alone
