I grew up in Spokane to Rogers high school, Longfellow grade school, smoking community college and EW. I have not been home in 45 years and these pictures are very nice to look at and it makes me very melancholy because I miss Spokane. Thank you for showing them to me. Thank you thank you for letting me see them on my phone.

@briananderson5947 Hi Brian! Do you already have a realtor? If not, I can refer you to one. He's an awesome and reliable guy. His name is Haydn Halsted. You can check out his UA-cam channel or his socials. He can help you move in and will guide you throughout.

@@bathelion777 yes. If you're into nature, hiking, outdoor exploring stuff, Spokane might be the place for you. The downside though is, it's much spread out, I mean the neighborhoods and houses, more than you would think it is.

Beautiful, for such a crappy place. Spent 40 years there, been gone 5 and I'll NEVER go back! It's a dump on soooooo many levels!

What's the biggest issue? Seems like a good place if you're looking to get away from LA, Portland and Seattle. Lots of outdoor beauty right? If you're wanting a more small scale, less people type of place compared to huge cities, seems like a good place to move.
Curious as to what your main issues were.

Although it's metro area population is around 650k people, let me give you 40 years of my Spokane experience. But please keep in mind I have loads of friends and family stuck there that report back to me that it's only gotten worse in the 5-6 years I've been gone. Think of the problems in a "per capita" way and it all makes sense. Spokane has an overwhelmingly high ratio of transient people. Why? Any bum on the west coast will tell you that it's a great place to thrive in every way as a bum, with 3 free square meals a day, a place to sleep at night, and plenty of street corners to panhandle for your booze and drugs. With this higher bum population ratio, Spokane gets more overwhelmed by all the problems that come with a bum crises. I don't have time here to enplane all those problems but if you need an education on that topic, please let me know. Spokane also is famous for very low paying jobs. There is very little in the way of industry there. Your choices are to work at one of the (way too many) fast food joints or hope you have a medical degree for the huge medical field there. Also, since 2017 the housing market has quadrupled in price, making it unobtainable for the "average" Spokane resident. Even the houses or places to rent in the hood which we famously call Felony Flats is too expensive verses the average income. Spokane is a desert until you go north into the wild fire area (that burns every fall and chokes out the city). To the ease you have the even more expensive Idaho, to the south and to the west is desert as well and sparely inhabited with little to do. Keep in mind that the police have the big city attitude that they don't have time to deal with your stolen car because they are too busy with rapes and murders. This brings me to a point that Spokane really isn't all that small. I was one of nearly 400 bus drivers that were driving all over the metro area. If you google Spokane population you come up with a number that only represents about 20-25% of the actual metro area. From Airway heights in the west, to Deer Park in the north, to all the way to Coeur D' Alene Idaho in the east, it's like one big metro area. So to sum it up, not as cool or as much to do in a real big city, much lower pay, high cost of living, high crime, dirty potholed streets, drug and boozed up bums making the city their own, and Spokane is just another blue, democrat ruined hell hole. In the 80's and 90's it was manageable but now, forget about it! @@cmartin5295

@@generalcaeser9176 Wow, thanks for the in depth information. I thought Spokane was more red, so that' definitely not good to hear.
We are looking at the area to move from California, so that's where my curiosity was coming from. Looking for mid size city, a lot of nature, 4 seasons and less hustle and bustle.
I didn't know it was a hot spot for transient, which is disappointing to hear. I thought perhaps since it's sort of pretty far out there in location, most would be in the Seattle area instead.
Do you know much about Boise, any thoughts there?
      Thanks again.

@@cmartin5295I am very familiar with Boise. They call it "The City of Trees". It still has its fare share of crime but nothing like Spokane. They have a great highway system so if it was me I'd move to Caldwell and you're just a short ride to Boise for anything and it's a very short commute. That is if I wanted to live in Idaho again. I spent a lot of time in North Idaho and it's beautiful but Idaho is a SUPER red state and that's a good thing but they have low paying jobs and housing is pretty high from all the California people moving out of the crap hole of California to beautiful Idaho. If you are coming from California either Spokane or Boise will seam cheap though. Might I make a suggestion though? Are you stuck on the west coast? There's a great medium size city Called Cookeville and it's in middle Tennessee, it's smack dab between Nashville and Knoxville with a 90 minute drive to either. They are a little busier than their size do to the very rural outskirts coming in to shop and such. The people are SUPER friendly, they have an excellent cost of living and jobs are abundant. I'm currently in Michigan (red state except Detroit which outnumbers the rest of the state turning it blue), but I got to tell you, Tennessee (avoid Memphis at all cost) and Kentucky (Louisville is AWESOME!!!) are some of the best places to raise a family, have good low cost of living and still have good earning opportunities! My next (and last) move will be either back to Tennessee or even Kentucky for sure! Pretty much the whole west coast is blue and super expensive, Idaho is a great place for outdoor activities, avoid Montana as it's expensive now and all the medium cities have gone blue haired woke. Be prepared for Tennessee if you decide to go there though. You'll make more friends that become your family and the accent will rub off on ya. It's super friendly and called the volunteer state and it sure is. You'll see churches everywhere (big bible belt) and neighbors always wanting to help each other. I like it's central location in the east as there's 5 or 6 states that are easy to get to for events. Heck I could go on and on but (and I see I already have) but I don't wanna bore ya to death. But really, if anyone reading this wants to go to a better state like (red) Tennessee or Kentucky they'll welcome you but leave your blue ideas in behind you as many of these beautiful places are being infested by the left that are looking for a better life but still have the same stupid ideas that ruined their last state and now they're ruining our oasis! 😁
