He could not have helped her anyway. Chances are even if these kids knew how to operate a rifle, the bear charges too fast to get a good aim. It is so sad so many people do not have any idea they are in the real wilderness with real predators that are just waiting to kill them.
In the 80s I went to Skyline Drive and walked through the woods. Down a hill to the Creek was 2 bear Cubs. I told my boyfriend I was going down to see then closer and possibly play with them. My boyfriend yelled for me to stop! I didn't realize the risk with their being the mom bear close by......which he explained to me later. I didn't know and felt suddenly scared and stupid but safe!
These people have no understanding of animals at all. I grew up on a farm and from a very young ago I knew you could be killed in an instant by a cow. I would never even consider walking or riding in bear country with or without a rifle. These people are delusional like those who think their aggressive dog and cats and birds and hamsters are their babies. You cannot humanize animals.
