STRANGE MATCH UP! '64 BUICK 4 DOOR ELECTRA 225 VS '01 SN95 TURBO FORD MUSTANG! HOT ROD DRAG WEEK!

One thing interesting that happens during Hot Rod's drag week is cars or trucks for that matter run out of class and end up facing each other resulting in some strange match ups. Case in point is Kyle Wimmer running in the "street race big block n/a" category in his huge 4 door '64 Buick Electra 225 lining up against "unlimited class" participant Lonnie Tibbs in his 7 second '01 Ford Mustang here on Day 4 at Byron Dragway. Of course we all know the inevitable outcome but these type of races really give you an idea just how fast some of these cars are compared to others plus it's fun to watch! #electra #hotroddragweek #buick

As a owner of a 63 electra sports coupe this is awesome to see.everybody has mustangs ,chevelle ,Camaros etc..all these old American cars deserve the love going forward

My brother and I talked our dad into a 255 c.u. dual-four LeSabre while shopping for a new car at the Buick dealership in '64. It would blow small block chevy 'vettes away regularly, much to their chagrin.

If I had one, the front plate would be chrome backing, with some of that really realistic looking fake poop, and next to it a real quarter, both epoxied to the plate..get it? Duce and a quarter :)

Our 64 Duece had the Buick experimental 465 motor and beat a 396 chevelle at the stop light in 1970. I have to say, The 4 speed chevelle had no traction😅

Not the original engine. The Buick 455 first years was 1970. This car came with either a 401 (Wildcat 445) or a 425 (Wildcat 465) engine.

A 13 second quarter at 96 or 97 mph doesn't seem right unless he was floating the valves thru the traps?I had a 66 Chevelle and a 87 Turbo Regal both high 13 low 14 quarter mile cars and both were going thru the traps at 100 mph.
