Great review and analysis, as usual, to the opening track of Lovebites' latest LP. Starting from next month, the ladies will be embarking on their world tour and I'm really looking forward to that !
LOVEBITES - We Are the Resurrection lyrics: Blowing storms, Rising shadows Thunder roars, Appearing once more No one knows, Trouble and struggles What we've been through, Where does justice go?
With the soul burning endless inside me We will hold all the promise we made Staring in silence
Feeling the weakness Creeping up on me Building up walls but this is my way All the pain Will make you stronger The answer is all inside of me
Through the dark, what we have all been waiting And the land that is laying beyond determination
Reflower of roses The beginning of your stage Leave all of the deep sorrow and starting this new journey This beautiful melody will purify everything Free yourself, strong and bravely Believe in the way you are
SOLOS: midori / miyako / both Blowing storms Rising shadows Thunder roars Appearing once more No one knows Troubles and struggles What we've been through Where does justice go?
With the soul burning endless inside me We will hold all the promise we made Staring in silence Reflower of roses The beginning of your stage Leave all of the deep sorrow and starting this new journey This beautiful melody will purify everything Free yourself, strong and bravely Believe in the way you are -----

THE THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE World Tour 2024 !!! Update - 2nd London show on July 1 !!! June 14 - New Cross Inn, London, UK (sold out) June 15 - Zik Zak, Ittre, BELGIUM (sold out) June 18 - Club Vaudeville, Lindau, GERMANY June 19 - Legend Club, Milan, ITALY (sold out) June 22 - Rock Imperium Festival, SPAIN June 25 - La Maroquinerie, Paris, FRANCE June 28 - Hellfest, FRANCE (on main stage, sold out) June 29 - Resurrection Fest, SPAIN July 1 - The Garage, London, UK July 4 - Roskilde Festival, DENMARK Sept 1 - Tokyo Garden Theater, Tokyo, JAPAN Sept 6 - ProgPower, Atlanta, USA (co-headliner, sold out) MORE TO COME
“We Are The Resurrection” was chosen to be their opening track upon hearing the guitar riff Midori came up with. Midori said the song is in drop D tuning and that she created the riff to be crunchy and groovy. Asami, who worked on the song with the band’s frequent collaborator Mao said that the first part sounds like thrash metal, but from there it develops in the usual LOVEBITES way. Midori said the marching rhythm conveys the feeling of “ moving forward”.
Awesome thank you for doing this one and great review. This is one of my favorites of the Judgement Day album. Lovebites are currently working on recording their next release and we all look forward to it. Lovebites will have their 1st show in the USA in September at ProgPower. Unfortunately it is sold out but fortunately i do have a ticket and cant wait to see then live for the 1st time and live in the USA for the 1st time
Great reaction and breakdown! In total agreement on the bass playing. Just because you have a toolbox of techniques, it doesn't mean any of them are right for the song (Especially in Metal) Fami is showing a lot of maturity by holding back.
This song is now my favorite song on the Judgement Day album. The first time I heard it, I didn't really get a bite. But then this song gets more biting and is able to make me headbang hard!
Some of the lasting classics don’t always grab it the first time I heard them. This song has grown on me since I I first heard it, just like the rest of the album which is now one of my all time favorites.
Great reaction, David. Personally I find the chorus as anthetmic as it gets. It sounds very majestic, going from Asami's vocals to everyone else playing the instruments, really got that "epic" feel to it.
Thank you for your reaction. I have heard this song quite a few times and struggle a bit with it, I’m more used to slow types of music, and your explanations is of great help. Try to relisten the song before checking the reaction but the original link in the description gives that the video is not available. I don’t know if it is just me but maybe you should check the llnk. Have fun! :)
Thank you for your reaction and review David! That's the opening song for Judgement Day album. It's only the third Lovebites song where Midori is involved as composer (with Dancing with the Devil and Glory to the World).
Always love when LOVEBITES is on the DH channel. One of the most melodic metal bands today, and I absolutely love it. Something The Big 4 were not good at doing, adding melodies to thrash. Unless the song was intended to be melodic (i.e., Fade to Black). But you don't see Slayer playing melodies often because it's thrash metal. I just love that these ladies add that dimension. My 2 cents. 🤘
I enjoy your honest reaction every time. After all, an album is a start, and a connection, and all of them have meaning. It is inevitable and complete that this song was chosen as the opening. If the composition of the song had been different, the other songs would have been quite different. That's what balance is. I enjoy the balance. ( 8.4P) is also perfect!
I also thought about request this and more songs from the new Album but unfortunately Lovebites still has no live footage of the real good(IMO) new songs like this one.

Thanks Dave for another great review of Lovebites, This song is the opener for the album and really gets the engines going, It's the perfect opener for an album that knocks your socks off. Love the guitar licks and the drums are outstanding as always.
Great review. What I love about Lovebites is that Miho (and Fami now) and Haruna always stay in their position as a rhythm section, not go for prominent role. It may not be fun (as a matter of fact I know a couple of UTube reactors said the drummer was boring) but produce better sound in that style. Have a good one.
@@jamesgreen5431 Exactly. I don't understand it either. I guess because she doesn't do flashy performances like swinging her head and throwing her hair all over, and doesn't do flashy drum solo, but Haruna gives most exciting drum fills and cymbal work all through perfomances.
Always amazed by the writing skills of Mao and Miyako. This song was arranged by the Lovebites ladies and it all goes to show their writing and arranging competence level. I am sure they could release a progressive rock album that could match any of the bands from the 1970's. I overestimated your score by .02 so am beginning to suss your not so generous scoring method 😀 In part of the chromatic decent, I believed I heard one major singing note before returning to the minor again? Thank you for your explanation of the structure of the song.
David, if any video deserves a quick push up the queue for you to watch it’s the new Drumeo video where Mike Portnoy of Dream Theatre tries to learn Tools Pneuma. I think you’d really enjoy it!

She now has two Zil-Bels. One 9.5″ FX above the ride, and one 7.5″ volcano cup in front, above the tom side-by-side with chopper 10"
