I prefer to wet trim my harvest. I used the bowl trimmer for the first time during my last grow, and it worked out great. It does not remove all the leaves and stems, so some minor hand trimming is required. Overall, it saved me a lot of time trimming and I have not noticed any issues with potency.
The only issue I get with wet trimming is that the dry is too quick. Didn't wet trim my latest grow and it took 10 days at about 68° and 60% RH. Fan-fucking-tastic terps this go around. Sucked balls trimming it, but the increase in quality over a 6-7 day dry is huge.
@elliebryant2812 i agree id rather just hand trim and get the time with the leaves on the buds for less dryness. I hear these bowls are only good for wet. I tried doing mine in my bowl dry it just cut up all the bud into shake and didnt even touch the leaf.
I hate trim jail like the next guy, just served A WEEK. However, my clients like their trichomes and my biggest edge I have over the dispensary is that my buds a frosty AF, and some people appreciate that.
From experience on using this style of trimmer. Trimming it wet degrades the taste and potency of the pot. I'd recommend trimming all the sucker leaves off and let hang for a week. Use the dry trimming accessory and you'll have tasty pot. And you won't lose any potency!
Back in the prohibition day, especially when I was (allegedly) doing "guerrilla grows", trimming was a nightmare! Trim Jail hasn't been a big problem for me since I started growing indoors. I've figured out that if I do a perpetual harvest, and only harvesting a few plants at a time, I can stay in the "Just Visiting" section of trim jail. But I don't trim for bag appeal anymore either. I tend to leave a "bud blanket" of sugar leaf. Some people call it a "farmer's trim". 😆 Cheers canna fam! ✌️💚🌲🌏☮️🕊

Hand trimming is king, but I just got a bowl trimmer as a gift. I've run one plant through it NOT DRIED and it worked okay. The next plant I do will be dry, and we'll see how well it does. All my grows are for me and family, so it doesn't have to be perfect, and the bowl trimmer saved me a couple of hours. I can see me using it on a regular basis. You forgot to mention the dry grate they make for bowl trimmers. Its an insert thats like a cheese grater and its a complete game changer for dry trimming.
ntg i love the fuck out of my bowl trimmer. the amount of hours it saved me is kindof insane. alot of people messup when using them and overload them then machine cant do its job properly or just ruins the bud. you want to really only process about 3/4 of a good handful or a 3/4 ounce in my case lol. the other thing is they seem to work better if your buds are like rocks and just roll around inside rather then just balling together. also remember to change direction every few minutes and turn slow.
I was using an electric version of the bowl called the trimzilla. Definitely effected my quality, stuff dried to quick. Stopped using it. Now I remove fan leafs hang dry then trim bag, during the cure I do extra manicure using the trim daddy which I love, trimming is easy now
Have a trim bowl like in your video. Only used it once. My son bought it and talked me into trying it. Worked pretty good but seemed to take a bit of bud mass off but I think the product was a little too dry 😢😢. Hand trimming is best but so time consuming when having to do 3 to 6 elbows. Need something answered. I use to leave sugar leaves on. Dried product out , took off some leaves, put in jars , product smelled like hay or lawn trimmings. I’ve been trying to perfect my drying/curing method. Ready soon to harvest Should I take all leaves off before putting in jars LIKE HAND MANICURED or was it just not dry enough with sugar leaves for jar curing. Can’t deal with Jay smell in any form. Thanks and sorry for long length of post. Thanks for all your help and videos. I watch multiple people and you’re one of my favorites. Keep up the GREAT WORK 😎😁❤️
I use a trim bag for everything both outdoor and indoor, UNLESS it’s some next level top tier shit;and I got high standards. Saves tons of time and you can’t notice a difference not really. And depending on how much product you have there’s no way to process/trim it all before it becomes to dry and loses its terps/gets degraded. You can trim a pound a day or you can trip 20 a day.
@@srryan1 I do for the most part sometimes I get a lil lazy for outdoor there’s just more and when you doing twenty pounds it’s just to much. The fan leaves won’t affect your trim for hash.
I just harvested on the 25th and going to try the ACI 19in trim bowl when they ready like high again said my first only complaint is the handle not being able to lock in but I can't wait to try it out

Trim the top buds and shit by hand, bowl trim the lower stuff. I'm not sitting there trimming for hours. The extra trim is used for oil anyway So I don't care much.
I tore mine apart so it has everything but the bowl and the fins. I just have to do 1 bud at time but just roll it on the grate doesn't fondle your tricones on rubber fins. and walla
If the people in the market didn't try to undercut each other all the time hand trimming would still be affordable the sweet spot in the market was the standard set forth before the big green rush. The standard was set by people who knew what it took to turn a profit. In that market every quality of pot had a place for every consumer. Low quality kind bud was the entry level buds at an affordable price and left room so that different qualities of swag were standardized between $50-$120 per Oz. You had your "mids" from $140-$220. And your low quality kind buds from $240-$280. More mainstream good quality buds could be found between $280-$360. And then there was the high quality kind buds. Coming in at $360-$450. And the super rare super perfect class from $420-$860. This was in my opinion the perfect scale to hold on the market and now it's ruined by people trying to screw eachother through ignorance and lies. Not all pot should be cheap. It's like comparing the price of an always save brand cigarette to a Cuban cigar.
I got this and wasn't impressed. Feels like I'm just brushing away trichromes. And it's like 30$ for a silicone brush. Used it on maybe 3 buds before I threw it in the drawer of weed accessories that looked cool online but I'll probably never use again
Dude! Great show! Question. Used trim bowl, may have turned it a bit too much. Got nice small nugs and “stuff” in the bowl. Last time I put it in the freezer (It’s still there). This time I just put it in a grove bag to cure cause I see lots of “hard times” smoke in there. Is that cool? What do you do?
With a cheap box fan, couple of racks, a five gallon bucket, some random shit from my shed and some ingenuity wet trimming has never been easier. Worth noting that I didn't wet trim my latest grow and the difference in terpene profiles from the slower dry is very noticeable. Faster and easier isn't always better. That holds true for trimming too. For top quality you can't beat trimming scissors. If you're just in it for the money or deal with huge quantities then mechanical trimming is probably your best bet though. Definitely hand trim your personal though.

@Cronic Caterpillar been there, done that. I've worked trim camps back in the illegal days in the Emerald Triangle in California. I've worked in legal grow operations in Colorado. And I've trimmed that kind of weight for myself before. Not new to it
Yeah so I like to start trimming by good growing practices first. Starting with cultivars. We want some space between bud sites and chunky flowers that trim themselves. Everything has to be as important as your first. The dry space needs to be climate controlled preferably naturally. And what ever method works for saving the terps. I've tried 1 pound grove bags but most of the harvest sticks to the inside. So I find their useful for preserving dryer sandier buds. Or buds after a long use in a preferred jar.
Check out the cannabrush, after you hang dry them, just brush the buds 2-3x and 90% of the work is done, it will take 4hrs of trim to 1hr. Then I just Hand trim and throw the clean buds in a terploc bag to finish curing 🫠
For the small grower who hand trims, try using flush-cut pliers versus the common shear-type scissors. They do not gum-up; so less need to clean during a trim... game changer!
