Really looking forward to A Desolation Called Peace, as I loved A Memory Called Empire. Glad to hear good things about it! And I want to give Lady Trent a try.
Project Hail Mary helped me survive the many night feeding session with my new baby. I needed something engaging and optimistic. I also loved all Muderbot books (so happy for Martha Wells and the Hugos!) and Piranesi. I keep wanting to read A Memory Called Empire and A Natural History of Dragons. I got really hyped up, so I hope I won't be disappointed :D
Yeah, I love the way Andy Weir creates optimism in the face of certain-death scenarios. I really like both A Memory Calle Empire and a Natural History of Dragons, but both are what I'd describe as a little more on the slow and thoughtful side. I thought a Natural History of Dragons was actually the slowest paced of the entire series, unfortunately.
Great list! Piranesi, Project Hail Mary, The Hod King and Wall of Storms were on my top 10 of 2021! We have similar tastes. I enjoy murderbot but the novel wasn't as good as the novellas IMO. I'm finishing the memoirs of Lady Trent right now...I'm not a huge fan, but I'm really enjoying the audiobooks.
Yeah, sounds like we have some very similar taste! I actually really liked the Murderbot novel-although it definitely got bonus points for ART. I did audiobooks for Lady Trent too, and of course Kate Reading is great. I don't have the same kind of love for the series as some of the other things on here, but it was a very satisfying experience when taken all together.
My favorite fantasy books of 2021 The wastelands by Stephen king Wizard and glass by Stephen king The song of susannah From blood and ash by Jennifer l armentrout Crescent city by Sarah j maas In the ravenous dark by a.m Strickland
great list! there are several I'd like to get to.
Bujold! No one ever talks about her and she's AMAZING! I love Miles and Penric and I really need to do a re-read of Curse of Chalion....
Piranesi was perfection in novel form. I loved it so much.
It's one of those books that has continued to grow on me more and more.
Great list! And thanks for the positive video 🙏
Haha the negative one is coming 😭 Although I prefer to be positive really.

great to see the witness for the dead here, I'll probably start reading the goblin emperor by the end of this month
