You really stretched the definition of non-SFF here and I am not complaining about it hahah, give us allll the recs 🤩 I have no idea that Toni Morrison's books were connected. And gosh I need to get to Wayfarers and Teixicalaan already. Also, your top 3 are completely new to me, and you have totally sold me on them. Can't wait to discover why they are your faves hehehe
@@esmayrosalyne to be faiiiir it’s non-fantasy the stretch is the Romantasy, but they are great but wouldn’t get a look in on the fantasy list so… 🫣😂 The Toni Morrison three are looooosely connected but they’re listed as a series on Goodreads so I casually slipped them onto the list so I can talk about her haha! Wayfarers is my favourite “cosy” series out there and Teixcalaan is such a good political sci-fi! I look forward to your thoughts on them!! Shardlake is great but it’s veeeery historical, and it’s basically a murder mystery which isn’t usually my thing but they just worked for me somehow? 🤷♀️ Saga of the exiles is classic sci-fi that feels like classic fantasy in a historical setting and I love it!!! Newsflesh was soooo easy to get through… and THE STAKES!!! Omg!! 😱 I hope you love them if/when you get to them! 💜
@@bookschocaholic I can't wait to get to Toni Morrison either way!! And love everything you said about those last three, consider me sold. Mira Grant has never let me down so far so I might just start there! 🤩
I have a really pretty edition of Beloved, have I read it yet? Nope 😂 in fact, I have quite a few of these and haven't read them yet The Mira Grant one has me intrigued because Into the Drowning Deep terrified me and I loved it!
@@mojopie Beloved is HARROWING I’ll say that, please go in prepared. 🫣 Newsflesh is great! Not got the horror elements of Into the Drowning Deep, it’s more suspense I guess than horror. But I love the themes of that series!
Have read Dissolution but not the rest of the series. I should really remedy that. Also really really want to get to 5he Julian May series at some point. I have had the first book on my tbr pile for possibly 10 years 😳
I loved the Shardlake series so much, I wouldn’t say they’re bingeable but soooooo good! Omg yessss read Julian May I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!!!
I really need to read the Cicero trilogy! I have owned the bind up for years! Aestus also sounds great! Thanks for adding to my never ending TBR!
Cicero was great! Really immerses you into the Roman era!
Aestus was a really interesting take on the themes and wasn’t what I was expecting!
Loved Hitchhikers Guide! And its sequels. You need to read it again!
@@jacquelinebell6201 I really do! I have such fond memories!
And the Becky Chambers books are great. And the Shardlake series is magnificent.
@@jacquelinebell6201 I completely agree! Shardlake has some of my favourite characters in literature!
