MIB infotainment module Every sine LCD module in the car Power seat control modules Tailgate module Blower fan control module Passenger and driver door control module Audio amplifier module . I am 100 percent you will get this vehicle up and running with 100 percent of the functions restored because Audi/VW will sell you every piece of that car from their online store unlike Tesla. $5,000 or $50,000? I'm not trying to "troll" or anything like that. I'm legitimately concerned & curious. I have 0% faith in any vehicle built after 2010ish (besides Honda and Toyota). I WANT to believe these newer....um...things can last or that they are actually serviceable, but knowing the way the automotive industry is moving I don't see that being an even remote reality whatsoever.
Hey Rich, audi tech here. There is a contactor in the 12v battery, you need to apply a voltage of 14.2 to 14.4 volts to get the 12v battery to take a charge again
There really is NO WAY to escape this trunk if the seats are up and the power is dead. Straight from the E-tron manual... "Mechanically unlocking the "luggage compartment lid" aka the trunk. Fold the backseat on the rear bench seat forward, (can only be done from inside the cabin) REMOVE THE MECHANICAL KEY Pry the cover off the trunk lid trim panel Press the lever with the mechanical key in the direction of the arrow to release the trunk." HOW IS THIS LEGAL? I'll tell you! "As of September 1, 2001, auto manufacturers were required to equip all new vehicle trunks with a 'glow in the dark' trunk release inside the trunk compartment." They never said this release had to be a MECHANICAL release. It can be powered by a battery. Which can go dead. And lock your child in there. *Just EV things*
Thanks for that. I watched that part and was thinking that wasn't legal. Sad when manufacturers choose to obey the letter of the law, not the spirit. Now I'll remember to check the battery before I put the kids in the trunk when I'm babysitting.
I guess they assumed that because it'll take a while for the car to fully discharge, it wasn't a risk. Owners could access the boot still via the rear seats. I guess the biggest risk is if there's an accident or fault that cuts off the electronic lock. Then Audi might face a big law suit for the sake of not having a mechanical safety override.

Great parts car, unless you're wanting to replace nearly every module, at least Volkswagen will sell you the parts. Depending on the model, the 103kw model 16 or 17 of them, with a £2000 GBP battery isolator or the 93kw model has one main £30k HV battery
Any flood-damaged car is a PITA to fix. A flood-damaged electric car with a scarce source of replacement parts and virtually no info on internet forums is next level.
The higher voltage range opens a new chapter in the importance of leakage current, condensation, spark gap, insulators, etc. What works at 300V won't work at 500V. * Keep it on * Keep it dry * Don't flat condensation collect

So, nearly 60.000$ for it and it's a "Certificate of Destruction" title. Yikes.
But I'm excited for this new video series!
I hope the 12V system will power up, that would be a good starting point, and I hope the HV battery and the motor have a better waterproof casing than the Tesla ones, fingers crossed 🤞
This sounds like a horrible idea
I think this car is CLEARLY DOOMED And I would only pay current scrap value but I'm not sure they got many people willing to try to figure out how to recycle the valuable materials
"Certificate of Destruction" title doesn't mean jack. That is only in the state it is issued in. They can take the car to another state and apply for a salvage title and rebuild it.
Fun fact: Etron in French translates to Turd in English.
Wishing you the best of luck. It does look like a fun project though.
This video represents one week of work and progress for these two guys.
Great parts car, unless you're wanting to replace nearly every module, at least Volkswagen will sell you the parts.
Depending on the model, the 103kw model 16 or 17 of them, with a £2000 GBP battery isolator or the 93kw model has one main £30k HV battery
@user-ks8ik9qd6f Why would I want to Text a Scammer
Any flood-damaged car is a PITA to fix. A flood-damaged electric car with a scarce source of replacement parts and virtually no info on internet forums is next level.
What happened to the Japanese sports cars you bought and were planning to fix?
"Thank you for coming to my TED talk." - love it.
aight bet
I live in New Jersey and these jokes are hilarious. That and the recorder songs. You guys always make it enjoyable. Thanks.
Steven was reading a manual manual?!
Why not check the main 12V fuses? On top of the battery there is clearly a junction box!
You guys are hilariously entertaining, love your work!
The higher voltage range opens a new chapter in the importance of leakage current, condensation, spark gap, insulators, etc. What works at 300V won't work at 500V.
* Keep it on
* Keep it dry
* Don't flat condensation collect
Going to be near impossible to get this one going again. Even rarer than Teslas, so getting any kind of parts is going to be near impossible.
Except I think Audi sells parts.
Nice to see im not the only idiot with EV’s on the internet
I believe it’s spelled “ragrets” 🤓
Ha ha! I see what you did there. 😂
Big fire risk there. Flood damage EV’s have been bursting into flames.
11:45 How did it go from a trailer to a tow truck?
We didn’t have forks large enough at our garage and he had to switch vehicles we we could roll it back
@@boxeclectic hey Steven lol
Ouch! for $56,000 plus fees I hope you can just put this in a bag of rice and call it a day.
If you can’t get a new battery for it, perhaps you could try building your own hybrid with a generator in the frunk? I don’t see many people building hybrid projects, so it could be something different and interesting. Since diesel electric locomotives are a thing, you could essentially use the existing electric motor and the generator on a ICE engine as an electric transmission.
Edison trucks? That you?
Rich nobody should say no to you wearing that hoodie. The tow guy should’ve taken that hoodie as payment.
Auto body shops put cars in curing ovens. I wonder what would happen if you baked out the moisture
Didnt even seem to have heat in the shop, Rich is a tight wad. lol
You can bake out the moisture but you aint baking out that salt
@philb707 in its solid state salt is not conductive. It needs water or to be molten to conduct electricity
You'd accelerate the corrosion from saltwater.
@@BixbyConsequence yes acceleration. Why else would one own an E-car
lol at 7:00 you mentioned the Stroopwafels. I bought some 2020 when I found your channel, haven't had any since and didn't get them for Christmas; it's time I place an order.
Please RS7 swap it. Would be worlds first.
This.
Me as a German: F.k Audi, get a car that's worth its money.
Does Audi have a bad reputation in Germany?
No, the Cars are good but expensive especially the electric ones
So don't buy a car? Literally none of them are worth the money now a days... 😂
Base models: Fancy VWs.
Expensive models: Overcomplicated mess = perfect status symbol for Germans. 😆
@@USMC1997 yeah, german cars are fun but they are not reliable at all
Doesn't Rich own his own tow truck?
Should.
All insurance rates in Florida are up 50% home and auto. It's extremely stupid.
