    _____________________
Never stop the car on a drive in the dark
Never look for the truth in your mother's eyes
Never trust the sound of rain upon a river
    Rushing through your ears
    Arriving somewhere but not here
Did you imagine the final sound as a gun?
Or the smashing windscreen of a car?
Did you ever imagine the last thing you'd hear as you're fading out was a song?
    All my designs, simplified
And all of my plans, compromised
    All of my dreams, sacrificed
Ever had the feeling you've been here before?
Drinking down the poison the way you were taught
Every thought from here on in your life begins
And all you knew was wrong?
Did you see the red mist block your path?
Did the scissors cut a way to your heart?
Did you feel the envy for the sons of mothers tearing you apart?

What Art can do is magic. Dalì, Michelangelo, Pink Floyd, Kubrick, Hugo Pratt, Pirandello, Victor Horta, Beethoven, Goethe, Cervantes, Gaudì, Porcupine Tree, many - but few - others. They bring us to a different level of Awareness. Viva!

My favorite songs of all time start with All Along the Watch Tower, New Years Day, The Song Remains the Same, Fade to Black, and then Camera Eye. After 2 years of listening to this song many, many times, it just moved into 5th all time for me, pushing Camera Eye to 6th. I love this song, it touches me so deeply. Sadly, the first time I ever heard this song, was 6 years after Wilson dissolved the band.

did you ever lose someone, or some relationship or whatever...and then sometime, you'll hear 'ten years gone', and that one'll hit you, as if you'd never heard it before, and then you'll have to add that to your list.. by now, mine's a mile long, or more...for me it was way more than ten years after-the-fact, and in fact, i cannot say for sure that songs don't change, or that they indeed, remain the same or were always-that-way... but it's all very subjective, i suppose...

Never stop the car on a drive in the dark
Never look for the truth in your mother's eyes
Never trust the sound of rain upon a river rushing through your ears
    Arriving somewhere but not here
Did you imagine the final sound as a gun?
Or the smashing windscreen of a car?
Did you ever imagine the last thing you'd
hear as you're fading out was a song?
    Arriving somewhere but not here
    All my designs simplified
And all of my plans compromised
And all of my dreams sacrificed
Ever had the feeling you've been here
    before?
Drinking down the poison the way you were taught
Ever thought from here on in your life begins and all you knew was wrong?
    All my designs simplified
And all of my plans compromised
And all of my dreams sacrificed
    Arriving somewhere but not here
Did you see the red mist block your path?
Did the scissors cut a way to your heart?
Did you feel the envy for the sons of mothers tearing you apart?

My favorite individual rock songs of all time are as follows. All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix, The Song Remains the Same by Zep, New Years Day by U2, Fade to Black by Metallica, Any Rush song, Green Grass and High Tides by the Outlaws, Detroit Rock City by Kiss, War Pigs by Sabbath, Dream On by Aerosmith, and now cracking my top 10 is this amazing song. Ya, I love a million songs but those first 5 I listed will never change. As for any Rush song for number 5, I know ts a copout, but I just love anything they have ever done. Seen em 13 times live. Wish I could have saw Porcupine Tree, but I only discovered them 7 years after they broke up. lol Love Steve.
