Tim doesn't get enough credit, his crossover, finishing ability, passing and outside shooting were all at the highest level if not the highest, he is up there with the greatest of all time point guards, but doesn't get enough recognition. He was a modern day point guard before the era of modern day point guards, same goes for a guy like Kevin Johnson
I had the pleasure of watching Tim Hardaway as a kid when he was at UTEP, back when The Killer Crossover was called The UTEP Two-Step. He will always be one of my favorite players and he had one of the tightest dribbles the game has ever seen.
He crossed up Stockton a few times in this clip. But the one at 2:35 is so fast you can slow it down to .5 and it's still really fast! Stockton had no chance.. the Crossover king!
When I first heard of the cross over...is when you mentioned his name.. before the Iverson's and etc. Tim was architect of the Cross over. That's right...I said it.
Last shot- 3/4 court heave was "legendary". Warriors were up by about 10pts, Timmy fouled on purpose with about 1.0 seconds left in the game- Don Nelson was barkng 'wtf?' at him, but he ignored him, asked for the inbounds and made the shot at the buzzer. The deal was- the Warriors were two points shy of (I think it was 120 pts) scoring all of the fans free tacos from Taco Bell and Timmy wanted the fans to get their tacos, so he put himself on the line and delivered*, big time! Epic. *The refs waved the shot off, even though replay showed it was legit. Taco Bell honored the effort and gave fans the tacos ;-)*
@@darrylb9228 yeah, before the Knee problem he was the absolute best PG in the NBA. He was Better than Magic, KJ and GP. He was going to be the best PG in the history of Basketball. He is still a HOFer.
Joel Mendoza it's because he kept that dribble low and the cross over under the knee. Agreed he killed defenders in his day. Honestly he could play in the modern era and have success easily.
@@Getloose360 and his crossovers were all legal, he did not carry the ball. Unlike today's crossover "kings." The ball stayed in their left hand for like a couple of seconds, lol, before switching it. It's outrageous how officiating has worsened to allow this. It started with Iverson, i guess. That was a blatant carry, but I guess the NBA thought it brings in fans, so what the heck. Such a shame to old-school guys like tim bug.
Tim made the NBA a mountain of money with that skill and style of play. What kind of contract could he get with his ability today and how much would he be worth to the NBA in 2022 dollars?
Hardaway was the most exciting player I seen play in a Heat uniform. He is like LeBron but with a deadly crossover, a killer instinct, a 3pt shot, and not afraid to take the big shot. Such a shame injuries derailed him.
And as a Heat fan, you only got to see and love the post-blown-ACL version of Timmy- he was at a whole other level with the Warriors before the first knee injury. I think it was actually right before the "in yo face" game that the SF paper did a pre-matchup piece on Barkley where he called Timmy the most unstoppable player in the NBA at that point. His quickness before the knee injuries was pretty devastating, and as you know, the dude was strong, he could play through a lot of contact. And he was one of the best creators/passers in the game. He had quirky delivery on the jump shot, but it was pretty effective, and yeah he was always ready for the big moments.
no disrespect to tim hardaway but if you ask me the best warriors players ever are still #1 wilt chamberlain #2 nate thurmond #3 rick barry #4 paul arizin #5 al attles #6 robert parish #7 bernard king and #8 chris webber

Thank You he should be in the Hall of Fame
Excellent post 100% agreed. Speed, quickness, range ,change of pace ball handling and vision. Total package.
A better human being too
He's definitely a hall of famer but he was blackballed because of the gay comments he made.
same with vancexel too
That crossover was legit. One of my Favorite players plus Mitch Richmond in those days.
Benny the GOAT himself said that Richmond was one of the toughest players he ever played against.
TMC days with Warriors!

" Ohhh yes yes yes in yo face!" Never gets old LMAO 😂

I like this guy, he's just only been over shadowed by being a team player......so simple but so effective
the guy that brought u the crossover dribble! #Legend!

The best of the best...
Tim with that southside of Chicago swag all in Barkley's face.
The best Point Guard in the history of basketball in his healthy years playing for Golden State.
You can’t be serious.

@@yahnamore I can't rank him above Magic or GP (they both had better court vision because of their heights), but he's still one my all time fav's.
i'm from Brazil, yours videos is Just fuck amazing! !!!!
it is amazing how he dribbles over isiah thomas, gary payton, pippen, they were good defenders but that crossover could kill everyone on the court.
