This guy and Matteo Mancusso are worth to see , the play so clean, effortless, with so much taste.
Astonishing. This is more than sheer practice. A lot of natural ability here.
Each and every time I hear MO, it reminds me of early Greg Howe. It's this fluidity, the ease at which he flows over the fretboard while always keeping the time and the pulse.
I have never heard Max speak, but his personality shines through with his funny additions like when he looks at his finger as though he cut it or fumbles with his instrument after just shredding it. I love this young man.
@strummercash5601 - You simply MUST hear him speak. For a young Russian dude he speaks like an ageing British bloke from Birmingham. There's a Q&A he did on youtube ... go find it! It's amazing!
@@hardywatkins7737 Its very weird. His accent jumps all around England, but its all variants on mostly Northern English accents, and then he'll suddenly sound out of his mind drunk for a couple of words. I can't think how he ended up speaking like that unless he just binges on British TV shows and copies them. But putting the accent aside his English is very accomplished.
@@philking8070 Yeah you're right that his accent jumps around the north a bit and yes it's very wierd! 😂 I can't think how he ended up talking the way he does either. Very mysterious.
Never can get enough of Max... real genius! What always amazes me is his exceptional musicality -- he's not just a shredder, but a true melodist. Whatever he plays is always sounding beautiful. To me, he's the hottest guitar player right now.
Clearly he is in posession of the Pick of Destiny.
He's in possession of the Swiss Picks James Becker Perpetual Cheddar model pick - reckons its the best pick you can get.
He's not only a virtuoso but his playing is so groovy and tasteful too.
I've been following this kid for a couple years he is insanely good and you said it just right the next generation is here
This kid is truly phenomenal he reminds me of Steve Vai a lot. let's face it fellow guitar player's, most of us have to work at it a 100% to get 5% of this kids abilities. This is what gifted looks like.
i think you underestimate how much he works into it; except its not work for him, thats the gift.
Max is most definitely an electric guitar prodigy much like Jason Becker was. I wish him the success he deserves.
This kid is not only technically excellent but also very musical. Definitely comparable to Guthrie.
He surely is an amazing player, but comparable to guthrie is a Little bit too much to say
I still remember when he was really into Paul Gilbert during his early days, full-on shred stuff. Over the years he transformed himself into this jazzy fusion shredder like Guthrie Govan and those guys. But, what I want to see is Max Ostro in his truest form of musicality. His deepest soul that cordially connects to the heart. Not just imitating his idols. Nobody doubts his talent anyway.
Not even close to Guthrie… technically as good as Guthrie, musicality, compositionally, no where near Guthrie.. Guthrie can play a melody, something you want to hear again, if I want to hear a bunch of notes, for no reason and not rememberable at all I will listen to this guy, If I want to hear a bunch of notes for a reason and some
Rememberable licks and hooks I will listen to Guthrie..
@@isaiahneilguitaristofficia549 Guthrie "knows" what he's doing. While this guy is just having fun with his set of skills which is undeniably admirable, at least for some.. but not memorable.
So creative, unpredictable phrasing like guthrie, he is art himself
That video snippet he plays using the Inspector guitar was taken when he was only 15. FIFTEEN. That’s insane. He is immensely talented and seriously gifted.
He is not gifted. There are no gifts. He's a hard worker. Nothing comes for free.
yup and if you lived in russia and wer forced to play for 16 hours a day for 20 years youd be good too.@@CharcoalPencilPusher
@CharcoalPencilPusher absolutely wrong. Some people are gifted with abilities to pick things up quicker. Not saying he didn't work incredibly hard but 99 percent of guitar players would never reach this technical ability especially at this age.
Макс, красавчик, давно палю за его творчество - жёсткий парень, Макс, если ты это читаешь - просто продолжай дарить этому миру частицу своего таланта!
He is the prodigy little brother of Tom QUAYLE, what à talent 🤯😭😭🙏🙏
Max is definitely a phenomena a virtuoso what is still kind of reminds me of the 80s Shred with a little Fusion jazz playing at a million notes a second but he does it with such techniques he's so fluid he's phenomenal
lol, he cant play songs, just shred, hes not a virtuoso, learn what the word means.
When I hear these young guys, I am more impressed with their use of theory at a young age, than the physical playing itself.
Love it. Can't wait to see him in a mainstream touring band someday. The sky's the limit for this kid.
Amazing lots of new quick playing
He’s virtuoso and always in Kissel competition soloing. I’ve been listening to him quite a few years now.
Still convinced he didn't win because he repped Ibanez. Ballsy lol
I remember seeing this kid cover Far Beyond the Sun a few years ago and he blew me away. He's got a bright future for sure
I would t say that. There are many many guitarists today who are virtuosos but 99.9% of them don’t make any great music or sell and records. Instrumental guitar hasn’t ever been a huge seller especially nowadays. Not knocking this kid at all but they should be finding bands to play with and write some kick ass songs together!!
Have been watching him for a while now, super impressive and never lets me down so many great solos!
Frickin dork kicks ass!
Молодец. Великолепная техника у пацана.....,огромное множество мыслей у него в голове. И .....он не просто технарь он мелодичный технарь.Браво.
His "yeah...you can't do this" face is awesome...
Max is getting better with every video he releases. Both musically and technically.
He's my favourite of the new crop of shredders👍
Amazing! Over the top! Off the charts! So effortless!😮❤😊
After years, hell decades, of playing I am not fit to tune this guys guitar. The Smooth Jazz was outstanding.
Awesome technical virtuosity, but if I need to listen to music on my 6 hour car trip, it will likely be something like Chris Stapleton. Even as a guitarist for more than 40 years I can appreciate this stuff in about 10 minute increments before my brain explodes.
Hearing you pal. The rusky dork boy has uber phenomenal skills right up there with the likes of Shawn Lane rip, and Guthrie Govan but honestly after a few minutes of listening to that hypersonic cacophony of notes it just becomes uninteresting to me.
So go listen to Chris Stapleton… apples to oranges. If it’s not your thing it’s fine..
@@x3a3x3: right? There always has to be that one D-bag in every comment section of a great player. The canned "lacks feel or emotion" or whatever intangible bullshit they come up with. They should just admit they're inferior dilletantes that don't appreciate a great player. Back to your pentatonic scales and 10 minute 'soulful bends'.
This kid reminds me a lot of Guthrie Govan. Truly amazing!
Your on your way Max!!!!! The style looks so out of control yet, with absolutely nothing to hide perfection!!!! I knew you’d make it!!!! Mazel Tov!!!!! ✡️
inspiring and really fun to watch him play
Dude is a guitar freak! He'll put out some killer records some day
The solo he played with the INSPECTOR was the best and insane, the muted legato is sick also, amazing how he is looking right in the camera too so comfortable. I’m surprised I haven’t heard more from this guy he is the future and sound freaking AMAZING….Love the INSPECTOR solo…totally unique and sounds wild.
Love this kid
Been listening to Max for a good while now...immense talent!
Definitely fast and talented. Let’s hope he is able to bring his talent to the masses and create something with soul.
What I love about him is that the kid totally understands that it’s music and that it’s supposed to be fun. And it’s obvious he’s having a great time.
Russian musicians are just on a whole different level. Just came back from binging on performances by Grisha Goryachev and also blasting some solo material by Dmitry Demyanenko. Good stuff.
The flawlessness of his legato technique is nothing short of jaw-dropping! I think we may have just seen the pinnacle of shred right here in this video.
Love listening to his playing
Let's see you go this kid
You got Matteo Mancuso , Josh Meader, Plini, Sithu Aye, Stephen Taranto, Daniele Gottardo, Marshall Harrison, Yo Onityan, .. countless more.
There is so many incredible young guitarists out there. Which one do you think really stands out above the rest?
Nobody, it is not a competition. Now i'm gonna listen to Wes Montgomery.
This kid is the f******** boogeyman for the guitarist! 🤣
His timing is buttery smooth, it's insane!
been watching him for several years. Amazing playing and a great sense of humor and style. You can check him out from when he was 13-14 yrs old. Playing crazy stuff.
Some day he might make it to the crossroads guitar fest.
Could definitely become one of the best in the world, but he has to be able to show the flexibility get off of just precise fast runs and get into making songs sound incredible.
You're talking as if he's 25 - 30 years old. Let the guy grow. Sit down and watch.
You called it. There's TONS of these players playing everything perfectly, yaaaayyyyy.
And now for some kickass songs......and it usually stays silent. But I like to be proven wrong, so bring it on!
I love how he just stares into my soul and conveys pure disappointment and discontent all while effortlessly displaying hyper-efficient shredding
Super brilliant !!!!
His face is funny but technique is seriously awesome
Such an inspirational player.
It’s good I’ve only seen short clips from him. Great technique but so much information! I’m getting too old for this much acrobatics.
He has some great slower solos. Check out “waterbear” “CA house music” and “Rhumba” for sure. “No feel, only pain” is a classic.” “Q&A solo”, etc. Yes, these solos have some fast parts but all tastefully done, imo. His “I switched to semi hollow guitar” solo is pretty awesome too.
2:30 - 2:34 He is so playful its just insane. He is a step above Matteo due to his creativity.
Max is absolutely amazing. Someone like Steve Vai or John Petrucci should really take him under his wing and mentor this kid. If he stays in Russia Im afraid he wont become more than an youtube star and he can be much more than that.
When you look at the state in which Europe is and the bad situation some states in the US are, I think staying in Russia might be better for him atm...
Chops.
Technique.
Taste.
Rarely do you get the whole package. Bravo Mr. 👏👏
This kid is just getting started. Imagine what comes from him in 10 years. Some of these folks play so incredibly well, initially hearing them starts with complete disbelief. That quickly turns to jaw-dropping wonder.
I'm older, so this stuff is mind-blowing. I've seen and heard a LOT of outstanding guitar players from around the globe, but these young folks have taken it to a level I didn't know could be reached.
It's interesting to note how he rarely looks at his guitar. There's muscle memory there, but he's keeping a running picture of why and where he's going, all the time. His mental positioning is never questioned all across the fingerboard at all times. That's some incredible shit.
Simply amazing!
Love to see this guy collab with Coldplay. Really feel they could push his playing to the next level.
Ha ha, well played. Maybe he could do a thing with Talylor Swift too...
He is phenomenal. He plays effortlessly. I hope he learns how to show some emotion. He has a very bright future ahead of him.
This cannot be anything other than a true mysterious gift.
He's 10 of the best guitar players in one... and still unique on his own!!
yes, he is a genius. but cold technique. i would love to hear a solo from his heart, when he is melancholic
Listen to groove on,that has so much soul and intricacy with dynamics that its insane…this kid can truly do it all
Been waiting to see that young man on facemelters. Max Ostro is a phenomenal player 🤘🤘✌️🖖
Amazing sound
Max clearly has great technical talent and obviously similar to the likes of tom quayle and co.
I just hope he continues to grow melodically and smooth that line of balance between shred and musicality like other greats
e.g., satriani/guthrie govan
Ok, but can he SMILE? 😂
Love Max He Truly Inspiring
He's amazing, I've been watching him since he posted some video doing pretty good racer x covers at his school talent show or something lol. He's got some serious style and sense of humour too!
The only problem i see with these very good guitarists that, years pass and still they are in to progressive jazz djent metal or fusion. I'm listening mostly these genres however , likable music in the genres are very hard to find. So it's not just about epic talent and fast clean playing, it's also about writing some tasteful music, which they lack
all the great guitar players were great in their teens. Yngwie, EVH, Rhoads. . .all of them. Max is no exception.
The future of guitar isn't playing fast. There are tons of fast players. To take guitar to the next step a guitarist needs to hit the scene who is a highly trained musician and knows music as well as they know guitar.
He was so relaxed (through one of those runs that would have put my fingers in knots) that he almost fell asleep. His eyes got droopy.
His hybrid picking and Tom Quayle influences is absolutely amazing!
He is technicaly phenomenal, but I didn't get a lot of emotional content from him
Why does this guy still not have a signature guitar....when Kirk Hammett does????? y o y
You said it all míster,...
Even Kirk Hammett does??
How come????
@@patriciosilvarobalino9832 because metallica sells alot of merchandise but i agree with you , kirk is a terrible player.... if max had tits he would already be touring and promoted. is hes desperate to sell his soul for fame, he should come out trans LOL that might get him a signature guitar faster
Wow i need play guitar like Max Ostro !!!!
Been following for a while now. His technique is pretty much flawless. A young "new" Guthrie why not?
He is a master guitarist - but there is someone better, Matteo Mancuso. "Matteo is light years years ahead of anybody" - Al DeMiola. Max is truly is unbelievable! No doubt about that!
Both are amazing . Truly hard to compare the two . Both completely different styles
Matteo is far less melodic than Max and for me is basically musically forgettable. Still, Max is doing very little that hasn't been done in Shrapnel Records for 35 years plus.
It does not ring a bell for me, it's just technical supremecy.
La cosa straordinaria, oltre alla immensa tecnica,è la comprensione del linguaggio melodico che sa esprimere con il suo ricchissimo fraseggio. Complimenti sei bravissimo
Been listening to Max for a while.
He is a magician.
The guitarist: fenomenale! I like him!
The music: same story for forty years... in my opinion, a little weak
It is clean but after about five minutes or less, I'm bored. I like content, songs
Not normal in the very best of ways. I’m glad Max decided to visit our little planet and show us what is possible
That guy sure can play! Really cool sound too.
Just another shredder clone... I can think of about ten guys right off the top of my head that sound like this. What's he going to do to separate himself from the pack? Doesn't mean I can't appreciate what he's accomplished, but it's like hearing a bunch of different comedians telling the same joke 🥸
Says there's two replies but I only see mine... Guess somebody didn't like what you had to say about Harry Potter jamming 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Totally robotic with zero feeling. Boring!!
Exactly, no offense to the kid, speed for the sake of speed and making it at least 95% if not more of your playing, gets boring. Give him an acoustic without any amp or anything, and let's see what he can play. If you are for real, you can play anywhere.
The bar just keeps getting set ridiculously higher and higher.
Badd ass! 🤘🏼
Max please make a smile 😂
I've been subscribed to ostros' channel for 5 years.. he's awesome
Mega Goosebumps!
The guy is phenomenal and still impress' the shit out of me years later.
Bravo!
It's not just his phenomenal technique, it's also the maturity of his playing. The guy's truly a prodigy.
That's what I was thinking, it's what I would expect from a 30 year old virtuoso
A prodigy and a virtuoso but with less musicality concerning his lick skills. Matteo Mancuso is another level, I think, on the way of Guthrie Govan.
I discovered Matteo and watched videos for maybe a week. I discovered Max shortly after and have not stopped listening to him after 2 months. Matteo might “technically” be better but he’s not the one I find most interesting to my ears. I definitely never seen a guitarist “better” than Matteo. He’s just not in my top 5 of guitarists I actually want to listen to. Max is in my top 5 and actually #1 at the moment.
NOT good same o same o nothing fantastic
