@@RichardBirchett You can;t move from the Lizard peninsula... that's where we are moving to hopefully over the coming couple of years... just a lovely place to live!
Lovely video Richard. I agree the Harrier is one of my top birds. I moved to the Charente in France in 2018 and my photography changed from landscape to wildlife. We have Harriers very close to our house. I experienced last year; the pair 'sky dance' in the valley below our garden a few hundred meters away. I took many photographs with my 100-400mm and R5 some of which I am pleased with. The emotion was over whelming as the male dropped a mouse to the female like 2 angels in the sky. Another pair are located this year about 1k up the track unless it is the same pair. I now know I need more reach so will be investing in a new lens. So lucky to live where the wildlife is so amazing on our doorstep. I will be trying video soon which is new to me. Keep the adventures coming.
Thanks very much Milan, they really are such amazing birds! To see them happily doing their thing in such an awesome place was truly special! You are right about the emotion, it was such a superb experience for me, the skydance and acrobatics was amazing! A lasting memory for me! I'm heading back there this year, fingers crossed I shall be sharing more special moments with them. Sounds like you've got a great location, best of luck with the video. Cheers R
Wonderful video. Loved the footage of the Hen Herrier. I was very lucky to photograph a female close to home a couple of months ago. They are indeed amazing birds.

Have a great weekend! From your UA-cam friend from the New Forest !!🖐🏻👍
Superb, thanks very much its very kind of you to say, people must think I am mad when I talk about emotions when talking about a bird or mammal but if you love the natural world I don't think there is a better feeling when you see a thing of beauty. Stunning Rich, Just stunning, I had similar feelings while I was watching the Marsh Harriers. I'm completely hooked now. I cant believe it took me this long to get into wildlife photography. Hopefully I'm off again on Saturday and hoping to catch site of a barn owl this week. Cant wait for your next instalment.
Hi Steve, thanks very much indeed I'm really glad you enjoyed it, such amazing birds and I think you could probably tell I was over the moon at being able to see and capture them on camera! Well I doubt you will every change now you've got the bug, it really is such a great interest to have, and everyday is a learning day which makes it so addictive and enjoyable. Best of luck with the Barn Owls. All the best R
Great video as always.
Thanks very much Alan, cheers R 👍
Superb!!
Cheers Nathan, all the best R 👍
OMG !!!!!!! What a post !! Definitely your best post to date !! I’m with you definitely the best bird raptor there is I agree !! Seriously Richard nearly got my emotions going !! Totally totally understand your passion for wildlife & capturing it on film 🎥 or camera 📷!! I still prefer film footage ! And what a sequence you caught on film especially your first clip of the hen harrier! Stunning! And as you can imagine great capture of the red deer at the end !! Just finished the post brilliantly!
The Deer were a nice bonus on the walk back, nice to see the chaps all sticking together and not running off in all directions, think they were surprised to see me out so late, lol. Thanks again my friend, all the best R 👍
Great Video enjoyed that one
Thanks very much for watching, always very much appreciated. Cheers R 👍
very beautiful bird. See them sometimes here in Zeeland, also the marsh harrier
Hi Roy, they are aren't they! Totally amazing to watch hunt, I didn't realise you had them there, I'm guessing they are migratory birds with you? Thanks for watching, all the best R 👍
Absolutely awesome mate. Footage and stills are something else.
Would have to edit to see that myself. 👍
Cheers my friend, it was a total privilege to just be there in their presence, what a beautiful bird! Thanks R 👍
Nice Richard. One day you should come to the US to get our version - "Grey Ghost" too to add to your collection

Hi Alan, wow, to see them on a regular basis must be so good! They aren't the easiest due to hunting over a vast area but great when lucks in your favour! Cheers R 👍

Where I can buy the lens flexible hood for the 600mm f4 lens you showed on your videos?
Great videos and lots of info learning a lot from you, keep up the great work.....
Thanks very much Louis, it was purchased from Lenscoat.com a top quality company with great products.. If you are in the UK you can purchase from WEX Photovideo or from the US. Cheers R 👍
Good video, what time of year was this please and what about the Midges ?
Hi Lozza, filmed last month and zero problem with the midge! Not many about and thankfully they don’t like the taste of me thank goodness... thanks for watching. Cheers Richard 👍
Fantastic Adventure where did you get your collapsible lens hood from ???
Great to hear from you again and really glad you enjoyed the Vlog, It's from LensCoat an American company, many Uk suppliers stock them, if you are interested try WEX Photographic they stock quite a good range. Cheers R
Lovely vlog Richard 👌 Totally agree that seeing a hen harrier is a special experience & understand your emotional reaction 😍 Really good that you explained the importance of complying with the law re non-disturbance & showing how to find a suitable observation position 👏👏 PS is your head covering also a Jack Pyke product? I’m after a darker camo pattern to the one I’m currently using. Keep up the great work. All the best. Ade
Hi Adrian, thanks very much for watching, it really is so important, I’ve now got a licence but only for Cornwall but just for survey work not photography. Still it would be tempting for some who don’t know we have rules for these birds so good just to mention it. It was a special day for me as it’s always been a dream of mine! Yes it’s a Jack Pyke I’ve had it for 10 years and hasn’t let me down yet, nearly lost it a couple times... my good luck charm, lol.. thanks for watching. All the best R 👍
Where did you get the rap around lens shade cover on the end of your lens ?
I've never seen one . TIA SIR
Thanks for watching Ricardo, its from Lenscoat.com they have awesome products, check out their website they are based in the US. Cheers R 👍
Im wondering if you noticed the illicit 18th century whisky still on your way to that spot..😉
Hi Ben! Dam it I missed that but I’ll get it next time 😂👍😜
@@RichardBirchett So much history in that glen! The oldest surviving Jacobite from Culloden was born in one of the ruined townships closeby too! Thats an area I know well so I found your video really interesting!
Ten kombinezon tak hałasuje ??
I don't think it's noisy, which suit you referring to?
@@RichardBirchett Chodzi mi o kombinezon na początku filmu wydaje się że mocno szeleści , bo mikrofon wyłapuje .
@@edward832505 Could have been a Mic Issue, Thanks for letting me know. Cheers R
