A tier list related to vex robotics gears. This tier list is only for consideration for gears as gears (not for other uses such as a wheel or rubber band roller).
In my opinion HS 36 tooth gears should be ranked higher. They have so many uses, and using a 4 wide drive gap isn’t that bad in my opinion. I’ve found uses for them all over the robot, so I feel they should be B or A tier. Great tier list though
If you’re using the 36 tooth gears on the drivebase as the drive gear, there is no reason you can’t use low strength. I’d be curious what some of the other uses you needed the HS were for.
Other uses I’ve found for 36 tooth gears are: - Catapult Idlers (like mentioned in the video) - Smaller way to mount HS axles to C-Channels - Catapult (If doing 33 rpm 12 : 36) - 1:1 Gear ratios (Maybe you need to swap the rotation direction of chain) But yeah, I do still agree that LS 36 tooth gears should be ranked higher than HS, I just feel HS should still be ranked higher than C Tier. But yeah I probably should’ve used LS on my drivebase…
I believe the old hs 60T and 36T should be ranked much much higher, they are way better with inserts than the new ones and they are much easier to screw to wheels on drivetrains. The amount of frustration when inserts just never stay in the new gears is simply ridiculous to me.
Well in my opinion I think the 36 v2 works a lot better for slip gears but with a cata both work great but for a puncher I had to use the 36v2 bc I snapped some gears
Personally I would rank the old hs 36t gears higher purely on the basis that they’re really easy to cut in half. and you get two low strength sized 36 tooth gears that you can still put screw inserts in!
Probably never. As all the teams everyone knows should be S/A tier. Maybe at the end of the season I’ll do one specific to Kansas or Nebraska as there would be a broad range of tiers there.

@@9MotorGangi’ve seen the ls 36t gears snap bro it’s not practical
@@rizzgod25 not if used properly.
V1 36 tooth gear is so nice for those 36 tooth rachets cause of the better holes than the v2
As stated in the video, this tier list only listed the gears used as vex intended. Thus this tier list did not consider uses like ratchets.
Screw tier list (different lengths and their uses, as well as shoulder screws)?
Oh and past vrc game tier list! I think that would be a fun one
Sensor tier list next?
🤔
Unless you have something better.
@@9MotorGang nope!
I like sensor but also sprocket
Or metal like c, L, u channel etc. or maybe fasteners like screws standoffs shaft collars and that kinda stuff
@@camerondarnell3101 those are both good ideas

Are you using the old inserts or the new brass ones?
@@9MotorGang The new brass ones
The low strength 60 tooth should be at least a C tier but you do you
I'm curious what you use your LS 60 tooth gears for.
@@9MotorGang our drive train and catapult because our school has no high strength
@@TheFoundingFathers99319E fair. I think would agree if you had access to them.
Bro forgot all of the v1 gears being used as ratchets 💀
I did say I would only be counting the gears use as gears.
All gears look the same
Dang the 48 and 72 tooth gears could be higher they have the best drive rpm on 3.25 inch wheels

you forgot the low-strength 12t metal gear
They're at the very end 9:10
