I grew up in North Jersey, got into punk around ‘93, regularly attended gigs at The Pipeline and various places in NYC. Still into same music today and am embarrassed to admit that the only Mutha Records band I knew of was The Burnt, due to the linkage to The Wretched Ones. I discovered all these other great Mutha bands starting about 5 years ago. No one in my circle of friends knew of these bands either. I think I know why though, their stuff was never re-pressed or ever on CD you can find at a Tower Records or whatever. Also, when it comes to NJ, most historical punk/hardcore books only mention The Misfits, AOD, and gloss over the Bedlam Records/Buy Our Records stuff - no mention of Mutha. Still embarrassed I just discovered the rest of Mutha records output just 5 years ago being from NJ.
Christ.....Mutha & NJ had the goods! Fatal Rage, Chronic Sick & The Worst...3 of the best HC records ever!! And for like 35 yrs were really only known to kids on the east coast. Who knows if ill ever be able to afford a copy of this or the other 2 bands. You can buy a car for the cost of all 3 😆
I’m in my mid 40’s and grew up/lived in NJ until my mid 20’s. In the 90’s punk scene in northern NJ, we were big Wretched Ones fans so the only Mutha Records band I knew of was The Burnt due to that being Armen and BT’s first band. I’m embarrassed to admit that I just discovered these other great Mutha Records bands just a few years ago! No one getting into punk/HC in the 90’s knew of these bands because Mutha never did reissue LPs, 7”s or CDs and no one wrote about them. You would think that with the punk boom in the 90’s, someone would be interested in re issuing these great records and certainly someone should officially re-release them now.
@@sgfuzz5465 I agree, I know so of the stuff by worst was rereleased and I am working on the Public Disturbance stuff now. I hope this help you out, it would be great to see it all come out on CD & vinyl Again! Happy to hear you like it! Stay Loud & Proud !!! N.J.P. R. & N. J. H. C. ❤🎶
