Discovered these guys on maximum rock and roll in the early 80s when I was a teen and still my truest fuckin favorite...punk never died...it just got subversive and real!!!
Excellent band, great energy, so happy to have found them. Thank you Sacramento Punkshows for posting - before knowing I assumed this was a band called Necros!
I managed this band in SF. Back when they wore kilts. They were so cute. Got them gigs at my bar in the Tenderloin etc. Then i moved to Lower East Side NY and lost touch. I bartended in the Tenderloin and DJ'd on KUSF (sadly no longer) and would put their cassettes on..lol. They backed alot of bands i knew. Flipper,(if they showed up lol) Red Hot Chilli Pepoers, Suicidal Tendencies, Social Distortion omg soo many. Then i moved. Hope they remembered their white n wild first manager.. Great dazes
0:00 Child Hosts the Parasite 1:03 Moneyman 2:41 Where the Heart Is 3:51 The Good Life 4:34 Unscene Effort 5:48 The Request 7:31 Try 7:52 In the Red 9:40 Trickle Down
Every song is a direct hit especially IN THE RED, & that guitar solo on the last track is fxxxing frantic! Cool band name too. RT fans try to find their anthology on GTA grand theft AUDIO records if you still got a cd player. Top shelf.
One of my fave 10 80's EP's ever. Tried to reish it w the band's permission but a no go. All good, the record isn't too terribly difficult to track down whether you want a Version Sound press or the more obtainable 90's ''sort of'' reissue by Jason Parker via THD's spin off label.
yeah, this is definitely one of those mythical 80s go fast ushc records that commands outrageous prices with collector scum as much or more bc of how hard it rips as for its rarity (perceived, at least). ranks up there with such other unfuckwithable ushc essentials as NEOS - "Hassibah Gets the Martian Brain Squeeze", YDI - "A Place in the Sun", NEON CHRIST's "Parental Suppression", "Acceptance" by MECHT MENSCH, "Teaching You the Fear" by REALLY RED, "Pick Your King", and of course the immortal KORO ep. all well worth the hype!
The singer can actually follow a tune, speak clearly, with a menacing buzz underneath it all. Could have easily sang for Black Flag if the cards were dealt differently.
Black flag would be so awful if that happened. This vocalist is boring sounding. Even Keith Morris sounds more ferocious and he's Black Flags most boring singer.
I named this band. They still rock!

That compilation is the greatest of all punk comps
Agreed! Got the comp and never turned back

God, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Horrendous, listen to Big Boys instead.
I got to see them at the Tool & Die in S.F. They were smokin live.
@jombiejuss5919 you're telling someone that saw all those great bands what to listen to? You're a wimp ass nerd
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you're still with us to share the story.
For the Ⓐ always 👍
Reminds me of Social Unrest! Good music
Way better imo.
It is probably where Suicidal tendencies got some of their influence from for the LP. LISTEN 👂

Yes a ripper top to bottom
Sick AF!
SO HIGH!
Brilliant ❤ The way punk should be: raw, angry, dirty uncontained emotion!

As much as I'd love to keep getting out there, I respect that. It was a you're there or you're not situation and I get it.

Before Social Unrest?
no
Social Unrest and Rebel Truth both appeared on the MRR Not So Quiet on the Western Front compilation.
