Definitely interested in the Omnibus, but not sure how I feel about the figures still waiting for final product shots. I kind of wish they went more modern what lines like JoyToy and Acid Rain are doing rather than classic style. I may be in the minority though.
Yes 👍 I absolutely love what they are doing over at Operation Recall. I can’t wait to see them in person and love seeing the process as legendary creators come back and make magic again.
Not a fan. First, I can’t stand that the packaging and file card art is a direct ripoff of GI Joe. These are two different and distinct toy lines. The overlap may confuse consumers. Second, nearly every character comes with a pet. A leopard, a pigeon, a turtle, several K9s… it reminds me of the Robot Chicken sketch on the GI Joe Zoo. Finally, what’s with the strong Latino vibe of the line? General Mortifero? Los Castigadores? What country is this for?
Carson is the man, his book is fantastic. Its the heaviest book I own so you know its good. The Operation Recall line IS NOT A FUKN KNOCK OFF the people behind it are THE GOD FATHERS OF G I JOE! its more Joe then Emily and Lenny IMHO..
I love my omnibus and eagerly await the operation recall figures. Also watching the story unfold as legends in the industry come back together and make magic happen.
Man, somehow I missed the GI Joe craze growing up. I owned quite a few, but just never got into the line. I remember swap meet bins filled with loose Joe's for 10¢ a piece.
I remember talking with Carson more than a decade ago when he was working the big posters with all the figures and working on the books. I'd love to support his project, but at this point with Super7 doing the o-rings and delta 17 amongst others, I'd have to cherry pick unfortunately. Hopefully there's enough dough to go around if you know what I mean.
I don t know, the card art looks to be the best part of this line. there s no story, it s not military, just colourful. eagle force has a system structure to swap parts 2x head x pack as both the leader and troops I d rather go that way myself there has to be some evolution over what we had, it s more expensive I paid $2.50 Can up to $4 in the 80s for that now it s $8? as it s not any better, so it s cheap then? 3' s strength was vehicles, and now we ll have none? how much will be those if any? I d have 4 factions, each having ; a transport [supplies - troops] jeeps bikes tank helico small fast boat just 6 vehicles, same except colours and logos so now you know... good show bro
Cool video. I'm not a 3 3/4 collector, much less a toy maker. Making new figures using the processes of the 80's with resin 2 ups, hand drawn color studies etc instead the digital options seems expensive and time consuming. A comic book and 10 min animation short would be a better investment for a new IP imo. I hope it works out for them, it seems like an interesting venture.
It's not a fair comparison. We are comparing an IP we've known for decades and feel extreme attachment to with ... a small plastic doll some guy made up that has a colorful box that looks similar to Joe. Figure looks kinda similar too. That's what it is. That's all it is. So your reaction isn't negative, it's just ambivalent. Completely to be expected. Some will be positive, which is great, but ambivalence should be expected as the baseline. As it's almost impossible to create new comics and weave these figures into the new comics and make a cartoon with all the old ones and introduce the new ones (reinvigorating the Joes with the old perfect recipe) we have to greet them "cold" like this. A poster shared the idea of a comic and I think that was a fantastic one. I think you may have felt differently about these designs if they were introduced in a different situation, but I could be entirely wrong.
Guess we'll never see old Hasbro Gi Joe prices again. Even with today's inflation that $4 from 30 years ago would only be like $9. I appreciate that you're going back to 3.75 scale figures, but at $20+ per figure it's just a glorified Gi Joe fan club. And considering these are figures are characters that nobody knows, with no cartoon, comic, etc.. then why should we care?
@@liteney I think you're idea is a great response to Paladin's point. While I think most people will read Paladin and just see the "frown" emoji in their mind's eye, Paladin does make a real point regarding rooting the IP in a fictional universe. Who are these characters? We don't know them. Why would we have the same enthusiasm? Because the same people made them in the same way? But we never cared before about who made them or how they were made, right? GIJoe was remarkable in part to the multi-pronged nature of it. Comics made in to Cartoons which were available as Toys. Round and round it went. I think that's what Paladin is saying and raises an idea, why not do a comic book? Exactly as you said Liteney.
He criticizes Super7 for using pre-existing IPs for new lines but does a complete knock off of GI Joe. It’s funny how people think and try to sell you on their stuff.
Are you a fan of Operation Recall?

Touting new IP and yet it's...just Joe rehash. Cool, but not for me.
Excited 😅 but in England, hardly see anything
Really looking forward to this line!
OMG I want that line just based on his pitch. Great job!

As a big Joe fan I approve. I do G.I.Joe stop motion, so I love me some Joe figs❤
I will be picking up that book!!
Awesome stuff!
Glad you think so!
Awsome Carson. Can't wait.
I still want your figures. I didn't hear about the project till maybe a month later....
If they don't include Larry hama than the OG team is incomplete
Ok
Not into Joe but that book looks spectacular. Big fan of any "Art of" books. Got a few Star Wars ones...

Have you seen delta 17 figures? Those look like they were inspired by gi joe as well.
You should watch the video of mine before this one.
Thanks 😊
No problem
What’s with those screw joints??
Prototype

The book is awesome the knock off brand isn’t so great. But good on dude for following his dreams. Have to respect that ❤
Those designs don't do anything for me
Well, glad you voiced that.

Well inflation is inflation but I agree with not having a cartoon
@@ToyAttics Do a comic book. I loved GI Joe Marvel comics, especially the comercials. You have to do commercials. :) Yo Joe...

@@ToyAttics@ToyAttics Making an animated show costs way more than creating a toy line.
Cool concept but those figure look super boring to me. But that’s just my opinion dudes
It's a long tefm recruitment tactic...kids play with GI Joe...they grow up quick, at least a percentage will want to soldier.

Fake video title
It’s not
Why would you make a total knock off. At least change the logo.
