- Took my Losi no prep out to test the proline reaction tires with no foams in the tires today I was shocked on the performance of them, now the ground was super hot and seems real sticky today but I really enjoyed the Losi finally going dead straight off the line...also the traxxas drag slash rtr with reefs front wheels for weight new aluminum traxxas wheelie bar wheels & I limited the front shocks do to the droop on one side was touching the ground before the other front wheel causing the rc to pull left hard with no control on trigger see if my changes really worked or I made thing worse here in this video thanks for watching 👍
Awesome video earl I enjoy rolling back on your list watching your drag videos 👍🏽❤️👍🏽 your the man!!!!!
Thank you for going out in the extreme heat to record trials with these vehicles.
Appreciate watching the vids 👍👍🙏🙏
You know I had a VERY hard time with that thumbs up cause you're KILLING that Summit Camaro Body
I’m going to get my summit Repo soon 🤣🤣🤣
@RC Guy Garage I am with you on that, but short of running another body what is he to do doing that will detract from the look as I like the Summit body over the blue one he has on order, but yeah I cringe every time I hear it flip or hit the curb lol.
Thanks for sharing bro, be good 👍
Great video earl I’ve probably watched this vid few times I’ve learned a lot from it
Thanks
man earl it is very hot out there. both cars look to run great very straight. both cars are quick off the line. great job. dont have a drag car love to watch them. they are very cool. take care and stay safe.
Thanks 🙏
As I sit here waiting for Traxxas to ship my new Drag Slash…..I’ve viewed all your drag slash and Losi 22 vids and as I watched them … believe it or not …. I actually took notes on all tuning you had to do to get the DragSlash right where you want it… So now when my DragSlash is delivered….. I’m ahead of the game getting it to where I want it…. Thanks E…. Another “Yoda” installment of wisdom and RC knowledge…..
☮️~•~•~•~•>Out… !! 👍🏻😎
Losi needs a parachute. In the NHRA you need a parachute if your car goes over 150 mph and dual parachutes if you go over 200 mph... that Losi is doing the equivalent of 480 mph in scale speed. I don't know how well those RC parachutes work but they look cool
Nice work on the slash.
Awesome job, Earl! patience is key. I'm almost sorry I too recommended removing the foams out the tires. Perhaps it's weight is assisting in folding the tires under when it brakes/turns. But hey, impressive non-the-less for both cars. I ALMOST want a Traxxas.. lol
Thanks 🙏 for recommending the foams out I know a few ppl said to and it made sense the traxxas drag slash rtr is easy for me to set up as I’ve built a few of them 👍👍🔥🔥Losi I feel could be fast 💨 and stable 🔥🔥
Earl these are cool Cars, I haven’t gotten into drag racing yet. But I can watch the pro.
Thanks Earl! Excellent Video. Why not try the Slash Fat rear tires on The Losi? They seem to be running without any problems. The Losi rollovers...Yikes!!!
The Losi makes to much top end and needs belted tires the slash tires are not belted and work great on lower kv motors if I run the slash tires on the Losi I will over stretch them and ruin the tires there just to soft 👍👍
good passes bud
you got to take reverse off and turn down you drag brake to 5and let it coast let the drag break slow it every time you hit the breaks it goes in to reverse that what causing it to roll check power mad racing here hes got a lot of insight to it and he races 1 to 1 drag cars and he knowledge is vast to check his time slip for his rc car
Also I've learned to have the cars completely flat before turning it on. Helps level out/center the gyros for the avc systems etc.
None of mine use tsm or avc 👍👍
Theres no avc in the losi bud no prep does not allow tsm or avc
@@nolimitrc1 understood! Thx
Add a gyro like we use for drift and that should help from rolling and cut ur steering ratio to low so end point it at minimum steering should fix ur stopping
Reaction tires working the the driver is on the way to the ER
Right 🤣🤣🤣
It was hot hot hot
great testing bro!
where did the aluminum front wheels come from that are on your slash?
plus do they make them for the dr10?
Hey u try disabling reverse. Just have forward and brake only
No I use reverse to much I don’t feel like chasing the rc like a nitro car 🤣🤣but it supposed to help but I use electric so I can reverse the rc 👍👍
@@earlmoorhead5555 you also have to chase it if the turtle’s on it’s shell too… lol
@@itchybrowneye right 🤷🏻♂️😜😜
The local RC group has a class called 'No Prep RTR Box Stock' which means you have to run one of the 3 RTR No Prep kits (DR10, Drag Slash, 22s) with only the parts that come in the box, just add a 2s battery. The rules do allow a gearing change and shock oil weight change otherwise you are required to run the body, electronics, shocks, wheels/tires, etc. that come in the kit. Based on these rules would you recommend the RTR Drag Slash or 22s, I don't think the DR10 will be competitive with out of the box parts. I can only afford one of the kits so I've got to decide so I can get it ordered. I also need a 2s battery/charger recommendation. As you can tell I'm new to all this but I've been watching your videos so any help would be greatly appreciated.
The slash or Losi would be the best if the let you use the slash out the box it’s better then the Losi
@@earlmoorhead5555 Thanks Earl, that's what I was thinking mostly because of the Drag Slash's wider slicks and longer wheelie bar. Any drag 2s battery/charger suggestions?
Batteries are based off what the event will allow I run a 7.6 v pack but some places don’t allow them
👍🏾
Is the scoop of the tail panel at speed causing the rear to parachute lift at braking?
Really looks like it goes right into reverse when ever you touch the brakes 🤔🤔
hello I just got my losi in today but all my batteries run deans plugs, so i want to change my plug on the esc to deans but do i need that 3rd wire whats that for, thanks for your help
Third wire for spectrum radio show battery voltage on the remote it’s not needed but remember deans is a low voltage plug make sure you don’t exceed the amp draw 👍👍
thank you i just ordered some of the ic3 plugs.
So any way you can have it so the slipper is right for the whole run but will slip on the slow down at the end, just thinking out loud not sure what you have set up on yours, just laid up at the moment so plenty of time to let things stew and this LOSI has piqued my interest as the thing should be better out the box going by the set up.
Another idea on the wheelie bar as it is adjustable swap to a small scale shock absorber with spring and fluid to be able to tune it to compress slowly and rebound slightly quicker just a thought.
Are the TRAXXAS inserts the same size as the LOSI in size so you can put them in the LOSI to try, not sure whether the sizes are the same.,
The slipper has a set procedure most ppl don’t know about ? The proper way is to hold both rear tire so they won’t turn remove the wheelie bar or hand it off the table so it won’t hit anything, with the remote in one hand pull full trigger and hold it for 20 sec I do a couple of second only 😜and the front end should raise 4-6 inches off the table in the air if it try’s to flip over it’s to tight if it an inch off the table it’s to loose this I how I adjust mine I won’t hold it for 20 seconds as I feel it burn up the slipper cluch but I have yet to see many ppl show this in a video but it work perfectly 👍👍👍in deceleration there really no way the stock slipper cluch will ever be loose enough to allow slipping on braking but maybe a weighted clutch that uses centrifugal force to operate it I just haven’t seen one for rc cars only real car clutches 👍👍🙏
I have seen a few ppl try a shock on the wheelie bar but haven’t seen one work good yet ...not sure which insert you mean ?
Sorry insert's re- foams, I have always just used the word insert's as a figure of speech, it then covers all the types of foam I use and as I use closed cell along with different types of foams from super squishy to just one step down from closed cell foams, I mainly do this as I do a spec sheet for the completed vehicle build (my ADHD thing) so I know not just what fluids but everything fitted and as I have 30+ spare sets of four tyres not counting what's on them and the spare wheels on some of my vehicles at the time of writing down the spec and wheel/tyre combos can differ from the initial build to where I am using the vehicle whether two or four wheel drive etc.
@@earlmoorhead5555 OK so that is the same as the upgrade HPI PCSC (Power Control slipper Clutch). Now I use mine to control the traction depending on the terrain more slip in muddy conditions less on hard compact ground, but have found that this also helped on slowing down in muddy slippery conditions as it slipped a little bit at times when I had to let off the throttle quickly and with a bit of trial and error I could use this slowing for the bends stopping the truck from spinning out and as I have it in my HPI 5SC truck being two wheel drive I wondered if it could be done on the 1/10th scale slipper clutch's but unsure due to the fact you run on tarmac roads, as I said not too familiar with 1/10th scale vehicles as at age fifteen I got into the 5th & 6th scale gas trucks and buggies on and off road and no longer ran my Tamiya Grass Hopper and touring cars. So my thinking is more to use the clutch as a sort of launch control to slip enough to stop the wheelie or keep it to the minimum on launch and slow down I can do this on my truck on the road when I run road tyres it slips for the first couple of feet and by the time it is going it bites and no wheelie or locked wheels on slow down, I do not use it so much now as I have fitted hydraulic front brakes a far better stopping as they are biased to the front brakes, hey sorry to be long winded but yep laid up with not a lot to do ugh I hate it.
What battery is in the slash when it went 2.6 I have a 5500 120c and and does 3.0 at 42 and won’t go any faster
It has a HV battery mini pack as I show the battery in a few video not sure if it’s in this one tho as I can’t see what your looking as it’s an older video 🔥🔥👍👍
Where'd you get the ec5/ic5 to traxxas adapter? Can you provide a link?
plan on taking to compete or just for personal preference???
Plan on going to Vegas for the national event
What ??? Really??? Go for it 🎖🏵🥇🎗
Yes last year was 18 k payout I have 9 drag cars I want to go take all and enter the event see if I get lucky only 4 hours from me 👍👍👍
Awww heck yeah keep us posted… sounds like a big event… tons of adrenaline times 👍👍👍
what do you use to log your speed and times thanks
Sky rc analyzer
Check your wheelbar wheels and make sure one doesnt have more resistance then the other on the losi
There free spinning on both wheels and it never touches the wheelie bar anymore and goes straight as can be now 👍👍🔥🔥
What battery were you running in the slash?
I show the batteries in several drag videos but it’s a 2s high voltage mini pack can’t remember the brand off the top of my head 💯💯
@@earlmoorhead5555 Got it. Thanks again Earl.
whats the deal with the foam? just got wheels in do i need to delete foams? thanks
Few guys said the foams hurt the tire as they soften the sidewalls for better bite on the belted tires seems to work
Did you disable the reverse?? Go check out udrc he has a video about it. He disabled the reverse and it stopped spinning out. Or just turn the brake down
I know it works but don’t want no reverse that the main reason I hated nitro
What 2s battery size type were you running in the slash? Thanks!
Not sure the video your watching it just show me a comment 🤔🤷🏻♂️
I’m pulling my foams next. Asphalt was 130 degrees last hits, I’ve got top end down, no reverse, the center isn’t wide enough on the radio
no foams is considered cheating, it's not legal in no prep so your better off running it with foams & just getting use to it, I guess it doesn't matter if you never plan to run No Prep, just a thought . 🏁💯🤙🏽
Your local no prep normally has there own rules but foams are local club doesn’t allow either but best to check with ppl around your areas 💯💯👍👍
🔥🔥🔥💯👊
🙏🔥💯
Well, you got RC911 beat so far lol 😆
I'd love to think what you think of my builds.. your are fantastic and I watch alot of your videos for tons of info.. my channel is newbie rc guy.. thanks and great job
Use little drag brake to slow off the throttle
No option for a drag brake in the esc ?
Change the remote with one that has abs
I know I can put it on my futaba but I was trying to justify the 400.00 vs 500.00 traxxas cost I love the Losi quality just trying to keep cost down and get it working properly I think I’ll call Losi see if they can update the esc or maybe it has an issue 💯💯👌
You try putting a camera at the finish line to see what’s happening.
Really looks like it goes into reverse only above 40 mph tho 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️I feel there is an esc issue no reverse on track mode stops the spinning out 🤷🏻♂️
How come your daughter doesn't run against you, you and her should build a drag cat for her so you 2 can race
She doesn’t like the drag cars she
Loves dirt onroad is not her thing I wish she would run 💯💯👍👍
You should fire your manicurist if that's what it's called
Right leaving me dirty nails all the time 🤣🤣🤣
Man I'm so frustrated with drag racing braking that I'm 3D printing some front brake calipers & going to try to activate them with a 5th scale system (since they have several versions out already). But I haven't been able to find any 10th scale front braking systems. Whoever comes out with a front braking system for 10th scale is going to be in the money. Braking on any/all 2 wheel drive RCs suck! Absolutely suck!
Please traxxas, losi, somebody make a front braking system!
