  • A walk in the Western Lake District over three of the more quieter fells.
The walk starts from Cold Fell Road near Kinniside Stone Circle approx 2 miles from Ennerdale Bridge and heads up a track which skirts around Blakeley Raise. We leave the track for the short but steep climb up to our first fell of the day, Grike (488m) From Grike we follow the clear ( but boggy) path up to Crag Fell (523m) This fell has the best views of the day looking over Ennerdale Water. From Crag Fell we follow the path over the summit of Whoap to the final fell of the day, Lank Rigg (541m) We retrace our steps down from Lank Rigg and turn left for our return route through the valley of Whoap Beck. There is two stream crossings to negotiate through this valley, but otherwise it is a very pleasant walk back.
    Distance is around 9 miles.
